So, by default when you summon merulina you have to ride it like a K-Drive, which isn't really bad, but gets annoying after a while. The augment makes it so that you summon it without having to ride it and play Yareli like any other frame.

You do want to summon merulina because it gives you 90% damage reduction (or rather redirection, merulina eats it for you)
