as for lack of charging handle, ejection port, short magazine (as in how long it is from rear to front) and weird trigger; it uses entropy (aka. magic in my setting), and pneumatic systems

Entropy powers a small pneumatic chamber, then there's piping, and control circuitry to make the weapon work; charging, chambering, bolt cycling and all that stuff, it's done internally, think of it like a pneumatic chaingun.

then there's another pneumatic chamber, which does the firing, the bullets are caseless, and use no gunpowder, hence the short mag.

the trigger piece isnt actually a trigger, it's an interface, the users are specially trained to operate the gun just by will; small entropic energy pulses, much like our neurons, so to them, it'd be no different than pulling a physical trigger.

this allows the weapon to be fully adjustable, it can change its projectile velocity and rate of fire on the fly, if need ever arises.
