Is there a chance that the "minimap" is generated from gamecode rather then being an actual asset. They could be doing something different then just a texture for example theres generating map from world partition data
In this tutorial I'll go over generating a minimap texture from your world partition levels. This has been useful for me to integrate a world accurate map with the player location and gameplay actor locations!
This can be useful in-game and it's also very useful for in-editor just to make sure that you don't always have to have everything loade...

There are world map asset tiles for the PDA
I'm not too familiar with unreal engine but I would have a look at if there is a way to generate "minimaps" if you really can't find anything in the assets
But there must be a baked texture of map I guess?

There doesn't "have" to be a texture it's entirely possible when the game is initially loading it does a quick high res render of the map or does it on the fly based on zoom level. Might be possible to check if it does something like this by removing or adding something to the map. I'm still learning unreal engine 5.

If your experienced with cheatengine/debugging you might be able to add waypoints and remove waypoints doing memory scans for changes and looking at the memory address and seeing if there a part of a "database"

Yeah, if its not helpful to you just scroll past it, there are people who don't know how to unpack files or edit plain text files that don't end in .txt stuff like that is useful to them. It's always funny when they take the time just to complain about someone who took the time to make something and share it with everyone.
i will say, even tho you are just changing a value, you still have to learn how to crack into the game, with the aes key and mapping, learn how to use fmodle, FIND THE CONFIG wich is the biggest pain in the dick, extract it, learn how to unpack pak files, learn how to pak files

I got lucky figuring out the aes key stuff. I think you have to remove drm from the file but I just got the .exe from an online source as I couldn't copy it out of the windows store haha.

My process was pretty much stalker 2 is an unreal engine game, .pak files are standardised then I learn't that they could be encrypted, I then was like well if the game is able to decrypt the .pak files it has to have the key. so I searched if someone made a tool to do it and there was a lot of aes key finder type stuff. I tried one of them and got about 30 keys then just bruteforced them in fmodel.

I did google the key once I had it, but didn't realise you needed to set the pak version to unreal engine 5.1 so I wasn't able to do that until I googled and saw if anyone else did haha

i guess this would be where to share this? stalker 2, using flawless widescreen to adjust viewmodel fov (+15%) along with disabling weaponless eye zoom has one issue. Crouching with no weapon shows Skif's hands, and they pop forward when pressing the aiming button/trigger. I don't really mod, I wouldn't know where to start.

What mods have people come across or done? There is basic config edits. there is texture/model replacements which is a step above and requires baking them which have more then just a .pak file, there is the console enabler which I think might have some code. then lastly I'm aware of the unreal engine vr mod that lets you play stalker 2 in vr haha

Hey guys...sorry for the offtop, just know you LTSC beasts are here: I rushed a bit with the LTSC version and didn't create a local account beforehand. Can I workaround the enterprise account requirement without re-making the installation media now?
Fixed issues with performance drops/potential out-of-memory crashes in hubs and locations crowded with NPCs during long play sessions.
Fixed issue when NPCs could not track whether a target in cover was covered from shots, which caused them to shoot into cover.
Also, we fixed approximately 100 different crashes, including potential memory leaks and EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION issues.
Fixed issue when combat music was still playing while combat was finished.
Significantly increased weapon melee distance.
Slightly increased knife melee distance.
Increased gamepad dead zones
Corrected radio call effects so NPC voices properly reflect distance during communication.
Fixed NPC behavior during encounters.
Fixed a bug that allows to sell items to the trader for more money that they actually cost.
I think thats the tldr of mods that are decent.

the main point of failure is how hefty are the NPCs resource-wise (even without alife now) + how poorly the game utilizes hardware. my experience in UE5 is somehow limited, but none of these are really a simple fix
just a dev thing - don't expect miracles from one patch 😄
If my mods work, then this will be tested by me with all the shit I have going.
There's usually at least 2 or 3 diff gun fights going on near/farish
so I'll be able to give you a good fuckin test run of this patch.
And at least 15 npc's in each fire fight
Do you use any mods? I only use some minor tweaks to the U5 engine.ini file as I've tried several "optimization" mods and they did not really do anything significant. + some gameplay rebalances+ x/y axis tweak but those have 0 impact on perf

Yup, been using some mods, I used simple ones but now my playthrough is done (first story playthrough)
I have some Alife tweak ones and the only ones that REALLY worked for me were the suicide roadside panic one and one other I forgot.
I tried some of the alife stuff but had issues where towns had no npcs

Guys your game isn'T going to break. Fact is if you play the game with the mods like before chances are everything will play exactly like you are used to. The Mods overwrite the native game settings.

I dont merge at all, none of them conflict and if they would, I am using a mod version that is merged already
Usually when mods break on a patch it's because the game executables functions memory addresses have changed or the expected data/format passed between them has changed, that sorta stuff causes hard crashes or super unusual glitches.
Interesting, I had a few conflicts with the mods i'm using and had to do it by hand.

Yeah, I've already backed up the old pak files in preparation to compare with what the new updates changed.
yeah dont bloat game with mods, try the game vanilla after update first. only like that we can see what changed and adjust mods accordingly,

not unlimited that i use but "increased stack size and no weight" takes away ammo weights and certain consumable weights

Yeah, I think the biggest worry is if they fixed something in the engine code and added a new variable in a config file related to it that a mod edits as it could override the whole config and a value won't be set so it will need to default to one.
i mean i only use renamed weapons, some grok stuff, the flashlight and no beep beep. I DID try out the weather mod today but since it takes a while for me to download the update on gog im testing that out

unity mods were usually memory injection so it would change whenever the game was recompiled worse case. so far the stalker 2 mods are just .pak files that the game automatically loads so it's a lot less that can go wrong.

If your curious how they tend to do memory injection one common way is you replace a dll that the game uses with a patched function that you know the games main executable will call, sometimes people put a new dll file in the games folder and it will work as the game was relying on a dll that was in the windows system folder for example, by putting it in the local folder of the exe it takes prescidence and is the .dll file the game executable will then call.

Pirated versions you have to install each update individually and wait for it to be released
I haven't had issues with those kind of sites personally but some developers have had issues with stolen credit cards buying keys and then the developer has to decide between cancelling the key or letting the grey market player keep it. Another issue could be ban for using a different region key then the one you live in. I don't really see that being too much of a problem for a singleplayer game from a large publisher though, especially on steam.

you use objects to block line of sight and stop you getting dragged in, you run between pulses. leaving once you get artifact is a bit harder you need to sprint opposite direction while using medkits and grabbing cover when you can.

Yeah, it's to keep the game fun and interesting, they didn't want the player base getting bored of a substantial section of gameplay. They have been looking closely at the data and a substantial amount of players are enjoying the shader compilation menu for a large portion of there ingame time.

Depends on the mod. Some need original config file from game merged with the modded values.

Yeah it's almost within margin of error. I did have one issue where I was playing for a few hours and my fps just halved in town. I think that might be the biggest performance improvement if any that are noticable.

the files doesn't do a great job of clearly pointing you to wich one of the files the one in the descrip is
i only used "broken" weapons once and i thought the jamming was WAY to often for it beeing at like 40%ish
