You usually get it when you go to Dvupalov to get the psi suppressor blueprints.

Yeah, Going against Strider Hurts every time. I tend to have the opposite problem. I can't stomach siding with spark knowing what they are.

Maybe it's intended, there are a couple of respawning pseudogiants in Bloodsucker village (great pun by the way thanks GSC very cool) and that hasn't been fixed yet.
btw the new settlement near Duga is really great for when you start exploring that area for missions and whatnot

As if the stealth works most of the time, the most I got out of supressors was at the duga assault mission where I saved tons of ammo from oneshotting monos
And that was supposed to be the loud part of the mission

Kazkoyvi camp are my beloved no slandering Kazkoyvi they turned the red forest from a shit hole to must visit destination
Shoot all three glowing emitters on the roof, then shoot the one on his hip, you'll know which one is the real Faust cus his emitter will be on and have a damage glow if you've hit it, it's acc really easy when you know what to shoot at

150 rounds does wonders for magdumping his little emitter point blank
Yeah when I understood how to beat him on my 4th try and just hip fired my way through it with a kharod I was shocked I beat him
It becomes comedically easy, if you don't get stunlocked between pulling your gun out and having to outheal the gunfire
Hardest part of Stalker 2 veteran difficulty is Skif being the slowest draw in the West whenever you're exiting a cutscene

Guys me again , NPC Combat Overhaul and OXA Prototype is comp eachother ? And ı don't understand load order between these 2 mods. I used Stalker Unlimited and NPC Combat Overhaul npc's is really clever and nice combat system. But now OXA and NPC Combat overhaul they are really feels like easy. Am ı doing something Wrong ? Last two mods on the load order.

Vortex load order doesn’t really do much in Stalker 2. Most mods that require to be loaded after or before something usually have _xx_P at the end of the file name. XX being a number. Higher numbers load later.
You’re going to run into most issues if you have 2 mods changing the same parameters in a CFG. Mods using bpatch tend to have less issues but it doesn’t eliminate them entirely.
So best solution is manuel modding ı guess ?
That is the recommended method currently, Yes. We are still waiting for a proper mod manager to be developed or for something like mod organizer 2 to get a stalker 2 plugin.
That being said. A lot of people use vortex and don’t have problems. It can just be really funky sometimes if you start removing mods and forget to purge and re deploy after any changes.
Since vortex has a tendency to leave latent files behind.
If you are manually installing. Most mod pages will let you know if something needs to load after something else. And is usually achieved by changing or adding the _xx_P naming convention.

So... just finished my first run of stalker 2, and now i wonder, how much of a hot take is it to think it is quite disapointing and the boss battles suck and shouldnt be in a stalker game?

The boss battles were kinda jank yeah, but tbh I liked all of them except for Scar, was fun to fight other Stalkers that utilise artifacts to be OP like the player and I thought Faust was thematically fitting
Scar was just the worst. The amount of ammunition i did pump into him was just unreal.

So from my play experience he fecked off after his quest in the lesser zone and never did appear again.

And tbh, even if i had noticed, it had been too long, so all emotional impact that might have on me was completely lost even if i had noticed.
I did like the whole Zombie on the roof side quest for Noontide and how it relates to them being Monolith again, and since I spared the Zombie I didn't kill anyone in the hospital because if they escaped the Monolith once they could do so again, in that regard I thought the hospital mission and seeing the 9th brainwashed again was really well done

I would guess, the PTM is the first weapon you get a silencer for. I was actually more annoyed i couldnt remove the damn thing later when i stopped using it.

About "interesting landscapes", supposedly there a refference to Darkscape in-game (besides cordon in HoC) that was planned to be a location full of storms or smth

Does Stalker 2 have any mods like Gamma that make it worth playing? In particular the baseline A-life systems were nonexistent when I played it at launch. Also the progression balance was totally off. I’m aware that it has revived some official patches on that front.
you can look at oxa standard or prototype since it has economic changes and overhaul to weapons/ballistics that makes every weapon useful. if you want gamey progression but still overhauled, you can go with stalker unlimited. there is also a-life found a way and shays living zone that compliment both of those pretty well.
oxa standard works with stalker unlimited as well.
If you want GAMMA gameplay, play GAMMA
Stalker 2 is very much story focused and doesnt offer that much of a sandbox, yes OXA and other mods help but still
if you think Stalker 2 is not worth to play because its not GAMMA, well, then play GAMMA
because Stalker 2 is never going to deliver the same experience

the issue with stalker 2 is that it is too focused on the main story and does offer little if you leave the story path
zonekit phase 3 will have quest tools so i would think people would immediately jump on making their own quests. I imagine dlc's and future official updates will add even more quests/features.
i speculate that the engine update is taking the priority right now, which is the right call. im sure content will fall into place after that

Not quite correct, the lair spawning is tied to "victories" against attackers iirc
This is why this only really became an issue with the strong mutants as NPC squads would just get wiped easily

I also remember a swarm some where underground i use a grenade and i did wipe out the swarm, with the exception of a single rat and i didnt wanted to waste another grenade... but i had to, because i couldnt kill that single rat.
I couldnt hit it with buckshot, or my pistol, or a whole mag from my assault rifle, not even with the knife.
I had to use another grenade for a single rat.

at launch, you absolutely had to cheese a chimera with terrain/pathing
they were impossible to fight normally
if it ever had line of sight on you, it would home in on you with its jump and oneshot you regardless of armor
through all obstacles
and to be fair, they still essentially oneshot you if they land their jump
because they combo you to death before you can stand up
its just that their jump is now possible to avoid
which makes them fun

does anyone know a fix for the sudden fps drop bug? Ill be playing at a smooth 60-70 fps then the second i enter any town or there are a lot of NPCs in the area my game becomes completely unplayable, sometimes it fixes itself, most of the time not. very infuriating when it happens in combat

if You are having sudden FPS drops then your GPU spikes over its limit and causing huge FPS drops = bottleneck.
After few minutes when it cools a bit it gets back to normal and it will eventually repeat that process again and again.
Only thing what can save You from that is performance monitoring metrics overlay on your screen.
Tune down your graphics until your VRAM consumption will be at stable 7gb
hate to break it to you but a 2070 super ain't exactly top of the line anymore
there is a memory leak issue but systems with more ram/vram will suffer less from it
imo: cheapest long term fix if other components are good would be a 5060ti 12-16gb for $350

Both side of this argument are valid. Optimization has been an issue for the last decade and it's only gotten worse with upscaling and framegen. But expecting a game to run flawlessly on older hardware is also a pipedream.
It's definitely possible, but the drive to create realistic graphics, the request for said graphics and them being a way to pump out newer, more expensive hardware to replace the old is why this happens.
Yeah, The problem is the engines are outpacing the hardware at this point unless your willing to drop ridiculous money to stay ahead of the curve. Your average consumer is never going to be able to keep up.
It's gonna crash again, sooner or later. It already happened once, the world's not gonna end.

yall think stalker 2 is worth trying again, or does it need another year to cook? played it at launch a bit and thought it was ok but was buggy and the mutants were bullet sponges. Has the AI got better?
if you played only v1.0 at launch, the game has been quite improved.
It's still not at an ideal spot, there's still some bullet sponges (not as bad as 1.0), it's still a bit buggy. But it's way better than launch.

yeah those were my main gripes with the game. using all the ammo in the zone on 1 blood sucker, and ai just spawning around corners or behind you in places you cleared. was thinking of trying it again after my gamma run.
Vanilla enemies are still pretty spongy, but there's a couple good rebalance mods. Better ballistics is pretty hardcore, and there's other ones closer to the OG trilogy in terms of damage.
Ward feel like colonizers and invaders, but the story flows a bit better if you side with Ward. Some of the quests as ward are a bit better, plus is very convenient as you won't have Ward being hostile for most of the run (Spark is neutral towards you for a very long time).
Admittedly, they're not nearly as spongy as they used to be. I remember the Chimera fight in the arena needing you to hit only headshots and use all the bullets to actually kill it on veteran.

I always thought the stalkers were just something that was tolerated because they got the artefact out of the zone. And they turned a blind eye on that whole buisiness because that was preferable to sent soldiers to their deaths.

Btw once they actually do something with Duty and Freedom and develop a couple more areas that really feel like you just pass by (cough Yaniv cough) the game can be called complete. My other complaint is that it's very easy to sneak now, enemies oftentimes feel like they're blind if you're couching, like I'm playing Skyrim.
The best way to enjoy Anomaly's story is to skip it. The best quality it has is that it's all text so you can skip it faster.

I am not even sure retcons would be the worst. I mean the story is petty messy. There is no clear villain you are against for longer as maybe one or two missions. Which is just... bad. Either dont have a clear villain, like we usually never had in stalker which worked just fine, or at least have one from the reveal until the end.
A MMO would be interesting but i believe that is wayyyy better enhance the AI and simulation instead, that's the best thingi to a "masive world" imo

Then strider and moon tide turn into monolith, okay, so it is strider and faust. But strider basically disappeared. Okay so it is just faust. Yes? And two missions later faust is dead. But monolith is there? So what was the point?
And what was his plan? Was his plan as good as the one from herman? Just instead of getting captured he get killed by us? Like what is going on? Is everyone a total idiot? And after that we basically have no clear villain again. But still three potential boss fights depending on who we sided with.
And no one really seems to actually have a good plan. Scar is just completely mental. Strelok just wants to become fuhrer of the zone. And ward? Ward itself doesnt even have a plan is seems to be just a sock puppet for agatha from what i have seen. Only that agatha never makes another appearance unless we side with ward.
I mean it sort of works in the moment for a game, but oh boy, if you just think a little bit about the story, it all falls apart.
