install fedora kde. it looks very similar to windows.
what you do. is you open up the app store. and install literally everything from there.
every program you could ever need. just grab it from the unified app store.
if you have nvidia(which you do) you can go into settings and enable nvidia drivers.
whenever you want to update your system and all your apps at once you just click update in the app store.
you dont really have to use the terminal much at all.
steam proton is a community run tool backed by valve that lets you play pretty much every game on steam with no issues at all. to small issues in virtually all cases.
it uses basically no system resources in comparison.
its way harder to get viruses if you just use the app store.

consider it like android but for desktops and it performs better than windows because its not bloated and doesnt have spyware (yes. cortana and recall are basically spyware)

I’ve been playing the game on all low-medium settings to try to squeeze some juice out of the performance.

However, this game is SO cpu based that if you have some decent hardware you can crank the settings from low to high with no real drop in FPS. I might be tripping but after turning DLSS from performance to quality and everything from low to high (pretty much) I swear I got MORE fps 🤣

I can only speak for my pc (3050 Ryzen 5 5600x and 32gb ram) but my game looks ALOT better at no cost to fps whatsoever

i was able to average 100 fps (with frame gen. 5600x cpu 7800xt gpu 32gb of ram)
but the problem is there was a ton of frame delay. like double the frame times. so it felt terrible.
and also the fps drops were insane. I literally went 1080p performance mode fsr. little difference in frame rates overall.

since that mod and the update now too
I average 120fps and get up to 150fps. but the frames are way more consistent and no more frame lag now.

I'm pretty well convinced it's a memory leak issue which are very inconsistent. I believe you when you say that. because that would be my experience in most scenarios.

I have been very tempted to upgrade my cpu. its actually a pretty good cpu overall. It could be better though. Not to anything top of the line. that's just a waste to me. but a step up would be nice for alot of games.

Glad you got performance boost brother. Trying to keep the game vanilla for the most part on my end. Even if that sounds stupid. I’m satisfied with my performance at the moment without having to mess with anything, especially because I expect more updates from GSC to come. But that mod sounds super sick either way tho, and I’d probably advise most people to check it out.

Either way, the hysteria about this games performance was a bit exaggerated…. People with 10 series gpu complaining they cant run the game

yea the mod was surprisingly good. I would be gaining no joke 40 fps in some areas that were struggling. not in others but in some. it can really help so I just blanket reccomend it because its easy to install

i would say less needed now with the first patch fixing some of the issues. but definitely worth a shot to people having issues.

The stamina mods and the weight mods look interesting. I think the weight is a lil bit annoying in this game. I usually only have a dozen kgs to spare when exploring. I even have an endurance boosting artifact and the stamina is okay amount but not fantastic or anything

these mods are already updated/ didnt break on update. Really I can reccomend just the performance mod and removing the shader compilation for the moment. The balance mods are all invalidated mostly because the devs just changed all that.
