I dunno, I jump between a few things trying which one(s) would hook me in. Video games, board games, tabletop rpgs, mini painting, sketching, 3D models, writing... So far video games seem to be the easiest to just zone off to after a long shift.

With mini painting, it deteriorated very quickly from "it's kinda zen experience, I like it" to "yeah, no, I'm hopeless". At one point it was just too long streak of failures to justify forcing myself into it anymore - from primer going all bad, through spraycan issues (that apparently only I had), through shaky hands, through not being able to get to certain spots on the mini, to even getting an airbrush that turned out to have a badly finished nozzle...

Not arts&crafts, but I just realized it's been a few years now that I haven't read any book that wasn't a manual, a handbook or a guide.

Also responsible was my issues with getting ordered stuff actually delivered - so at one point I was just like "why should I still bother". Might get back to it at some point, when I bounce back from something else.

I didn't like how the original Stalker trilogy icons look like, all pixelated and stuff, so i made my own...
...and then decided to make some for the mods too since the mod icons tend to stand out of the originals and don't fit the theme...
...and then just in case i also made some for Stalker 2 and now i no longer draw stuff, i just make icons.

hmm, maybe the True Stalker icon could be more of it's theme, rather than near-SoC icon.

like Gamma not having a classic rad symbol, True Stalker also doesn't have a classic rad symbol; like Gamma, True Stalker has it's own "thing" (the lines).

rad symbols for Stalker games are a classic, yes, but it may get too similar to one another if there are much Stalker games and modpacks. why not spice it up with other "could-be-like-Stalker" symbols?

I designed it like this because I want the player to use both melee and guns together, if leg shots worked it would be trivial

so you have to break the chest piece first, and then hit the core

sounds easy to do those 2 steps sure
but then add to the mix horde of other zeds, and 2 other variants of edars that one will imobilize you, and other will either shoot lasers at you, or rockets

and they also stagger when you break their chest piece... so the 2nd shot usually doesn't connect with the core

Seems like the problem with the EDARS isn't the weakpoint but the context you fight it in, but regardless my game isn't much like killing floor in the overall design

I appreciate the thought though, balancing this kind of stuff is complex

Also melee deals damage over the entire body so using a gun is more like a shortcut as it deals way more damage to this enemy
