#Avatar floats above ground when posing. It still poses, but I'm very high off the ground.

I've seen similar posts but nothing exactly matching this, at least that I could find. I'm trying to upload an avatar, and whenever I use a pose from gpose, it just makes me hover while i pose i.e. lay down. Any help is appreciated.

What version of GoLoco do you use?
Are the Avatar Layers WD Off?
Is something special in the Additive Layer?
Did you installed GoLoco Clean without having any older files from it in your project?
Is the Go/Float number changing the time you change into a Pose?
did you merged any layer?

gogoloco came with the avatar, i did not make it, i dont know how to check what version it is. i just want to fix it so i can use it. WD is off and its using the non WD gogo loco from what i see. its also using gobeyond i think? which ive never used for avatars, just goall or whatever i think.
from what i can tell, i dont think the float number changes, but im not sure that im even checking it properly.
i dont understand the 'merged any layer' part. i think to upload it i had to do something along those lines? that it autofixed for me?

#

oh it's version 1.6.0

#

i thought about just adding gogoloco / readding it myself but idk if its fine to just delete the gogoloco it has and just try to use vrcfury for it.. i havent used vrcfury in a while and have had trouble understanding how to use it for gogoloco again

#

when i spam click the gestures in unity, it can go down to the height its supposed to be at i guess, but it doesnt do the same ingame and i shouldnt have to click it multiple times

#

(oh i guess it isnt by just spam clicking one emote, its by spam clicking and alternating between at least two. and then i can change between them freely without it floating. but when i 'reset' the animations with the blue button thing it floats again)

#

it looks like it stays at 0.25 but if i spam click it it goes to 0.03 for laying down

#

figured out how to check i guess

#

0.25 being the default height or value i guess

#

i dont know if this counts as "special" but this is the thing it uses for additive. the avatar uses its own options for additive, gesture and fx but golocoaction for action and golocobase for base

worldly onyx
#

did you tested it ingame?
1.6 is a very old version and i dont know if its still compatible with the new Emulation Systems (Lyuma / Gesture Manager)

I would remove all GoLoco stuff from the project and add the newest version to the Avatar.

gleaming thicket
#

i did, its broken in the emulator on unity, broken on desktop vrchat and in VR

#

i wanted to do that but i'm not entirely sure how to go about it without messing things up. like, can i just delete the gogoloco asset folder that's imported and use VRCFury to do it? i don't remember how to get vrcfury to work because i'd tried that before and thought i might've messed the avatar up myself cause i didn't know it had gogoloco, but i tried to upload the avatar without me using vrcfury and it was still broken anyway

quartz latch
#

Delete all gogo related in the project, then import the latest ggl and vrcfury

gleaming thicket
#

ok, i will do that. i was just having trouble with setting up gogoloco with vrcfury since i hadnt done it in a while. do playable layers parameters need to be changed? i assume not and that vrcfury will just handle that

quartz latch
#

Don't have anything of ggl on your avatar beside the vrcfury prefab

gleaming thicket
#

ok

#

i'll take that as getting rid of this thing then

#

ty

#

i appreciate the help

gleaming thicket
#

assume i delete this too, no idea what its meant to do

worldly onyx
#

its a different Locomotion.

#

you can delete it if you want to use GoLoco

gleaming thicket
#

this popped up and im not sure what to do. i added vrcfury as a component and im trying to test it in unity. i dont remember seeing WD conflcits but i didnt check every single animation thing cause im not good at that

quartz latch
#

Auto fix I guess

gleaming thicket
#

i tried adding vrcfury as a component to the avatar, and i tested it in the emulator but the menu was just broken, gogoloco didnt work, and what.. are these two things that popped up? it replaced some of the stuff like 'gesture' so i assumed itd break animations or something, but, am i supposed to do something outside of the test/emulation thing? with prefabs or something? sorry

You dont need to add anything else to the avatar.

#

and the ShadowClone and MirrorReflection are if you use some special shader or something that would have effects in mirrors or shadow.

gleaming thicket
#

oh i forgot to reimport gogoloco, i only did vrcfury i think. the prefab you highlighted should be on my avatar? just here? i assume im gonna have to delete vrcfury from this and use gogoloco first and then vrcfury? unless it doesnt matter which order it is

#

oh okay

worldly onyx
#

what you install first (GoLoco or VRCFury) is not importent ^^ but both need to be installed xD

gleaming thicket
#

alright ty

worldly onyx
#

drag and drop the Prefab to your avatar so thats in the list.
And Remove the Base / Action layer if something is in it.
then you only need to upload the avatar and at that moment it will create the finished avatar and get uploaded.

gleaming thicket
#

so.. like this? and then i upload it? theres no way to test to be sure its working? would it replace the gesture menu or mess up animations?

#

so all i needed to do was download gogoloco and import, drag one of the prefabs for vrcfury into the avatar's folder in the project, and have vrcfury also imported, and then upload..?

#

sorry if im being dumb

gleaming thicket
#

im only testing it in emulation, but why is the menu just null? gogoloco doesnt work in the menu but every other menu still does

worldly onyx
#

maybe vrcfury has a problem with Lyuma. did you try it with only the Gesture Manager?

#

or make an Test Upload and try it ingame

oblique veldt
#

av3emu is really broken all the time with any post-processing avatar systems. Definitely use gesture manager instead.

gleaming thicket
#

oh ok. ill .. uninstall/delete av3emu then and use gesture manager? are test uploads faster than normal/actual? im not sure what lyuma is but i do see its a script

#

i feel like when i used vrcfury before i could test gogoloco in unity with av3emu but didnt the way you use vrcfury change..? or maybe idk

worldly onyx
#

At some point av3emu was crashing unity in combination with VRCFury.
Gesture Manager itself is the same and only misses some exotic features.
If you have the avatar not already uploaded the test upload is faster but now with SDK 3.3 if you have it already uploaded it's the same speed now.

gleaming thicket
#

oh alright, thank you. i'll get rid of av3emu and its components and try gesture manager. i wanted to make sure that gogoloco works in unity before getting on vr and i thought i was able to test that before on other avatars, just not this one. no idea why the menu is broken tho, i was able to use both the emulation and vrcfury before on a diff avatar

gleaming thicket
#

im still having issues with floating after starting a new project without av3menu but instead using gesture menu, i dont know why it does this but if i click the pose buttons a bunch then it doesnt anymore but that doesnt help

worldly onyx
#

its not rly something to see on the picture that would say whats the problem?
will your avatar move up in Unity or what is the problem?
Is it a different avatar? has it any other layers? did you testet it without other layers and only the goloco once?
did you used the newest and clean goloco (without having any goloco related stuff in the project)?

gleaming thicket
#

i had a similar issue with another avatar except i think that avatar was just floating outright, but this ones problem is just that it floats when you use a gogoloco pose. what would i show or include in the video?
and yeah i did delete gogoloco and reimported it and stuff
i dont understand the other questions sorry
