#[Conquest] A few feedback based on a 2 people co-op experience

Absolutely love the mode—it's been incredibly fun with friends. We've only played normal difficulty US vs. Germany so far.

Here are a few suggestions to improve the co-op experience:

  1. Cross Progression: The objective system for unlocking new divisions and special troops only benefits the host. Other players receive no rewards and must research separately. Link objectives to all players and scale them with the number of players. Ensure everyone gets the reward once fulfilled.

  2. Mobile SPG Artillery on the AI: On normal difficulty, it's fairly balanced but could use adjustments:

    • Reduce mobility while shooting. SPGs currently move and fire accurately, making counter-battery almost impossible even with recon.
    • Ensure SPGs stay within the map while firing. The AI often cheats by moving outside map borders to avoid tank blockages and counter-battery.
  3. Map Preview: A preview of the map before combat would aid in planning. Currently, a timer forces us to rush, as we can only see the map layout and objectives once the timer starts, putting us at a disadvantage.

  4. Effectiveness of Trenches and Houses: AI can easily destroy houses and trenches compared to players. Players need to methodically locate enemy infantry, but AI just shoots at buildings, causing players' troops to die quickly. This imbalance needs addressing.

  5. Choice of Attack Time: Currently, it's random whether we get night or day operations. Allowing us to choose would enhance the experience. Each time of day has different defenses, so adding pros and cons for night and day attacks would deepen the strategy. For example:

    • Night: Less AA but more tanks in town as they rest.
    • Day: More AA and AT but tanks must be spawned from the top rather than being pre-placed.

As a person who's been playing conquest coop I would concur with all of these suggestions. It's a very fun coop mode already though!

I also think if we knew what battalions the AI was using there could be some fun strategic counter play.

Cool suggestions.
1)regarding SPGs. In the Germans vs US campaign it shows drastically , especially on Epic difficulty. The entire map wants to murder you , there's always some self propelled something trying to destroy you(Priest, 105 tank regiments). To some extent i love the added difficulty but it is luducrous xD
2) Choice of attack time sounds cool, although currently night and day doesn't really impact the game significantly. Would be cool if it impacted either the mission script in the day you described or to some extent could impact the behaviour of planes for instance( Good lucke dive bombing at 1 AM in 1942).

  1. The map preview -> It's so important. I know the dynamic campaign very well and still end up sometimes in really unfavourable scenarios because i forgot how a certain map looks. Either the same preview as what the lobby uses OR the same one with option to zoom in on it.

Myself and a couple other guys were doing the Germans vs US. I normally bring artillery. The one time I don't the AI had 8-10 M2a1 105s. That match was rough. This was on Normal. It shows how much you really need artillery at that point. Doing Soviets vs Germans, German SPGs were a pain and it was hard to get back there to neutralize them with out just using another artillery which is always questionable because they disappear really fast.

It's just the US 105 is considered a tank by the game , and that's also how he behaves. He will charge the first line.
But he will also bomb you on the way. It's very difficult to counter. He will shoot twice. And yes, there's a lot of them ^^

Maybe someone here can explain why my party-members can't use the same battalion 2 times, instead they're getting on cooldown for 2 more games, although the host can play whatever he want every time?

We started conquest expecting to play our favorite roles: tanks, infantry, arty (there are 3 of ours), progress and conquest the map. Instead we forced to change our battalions every time, and every second game we got 2 of the same battalion type, because we have no choice.

Considering that they can't unlock other battalions for now, its kinda weird. We switched to raids instead, where its possible to play on the same role.

Because when you move on the map, your units are bound to a specific region. You play with different battalions and as such, you need to upgrade different battalions.
Your teammate doesn't have units on the map. So it simulates to some extent this aspect. He has to choose a battalion to play and will need to switch constantly. As such, he won't be able to play only one battalion. As a result, he also needs to unlock different things in the tech tree.

It's their way to re-create units being on the map at the end of the day +/-.

I guess you're right, but yeah its still kinda weird cuz when I won the first battle - next move is to defend it against the bot. Same battalions on the map that I cannot move anywhere cuz they need to defend. But my teammates can't play with it, they have to switch.

Yeah, he always switches. Basically your battalion and his are two completely different things.

The state of the map has 0 relation to what your coop friend can do.

Apart from the tech tree obviously. He gets X tech points depending on the map state i believe.
