#The recipe ratio compared to units per minute aren't matching?
32 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Looks like the recipe is 1 plate to 25 bars which is expected but the amount per minute doesn't seem to follow the ratio. 7 to 163 is closer to a 1 to 23.3 ratio? Recipe timing maybe?
The recipe ratio compared to units per minute aren't matching?
Maybe less efficient when running at 100%. Could have hit the point of diminishing returns.
how far in tech tree are you?
Maxed it out, all nodes are researched and turned on
The item/min statement is shown as an integer but the value that's calculated is probably 3.26 (163/50).
Another example are mk2 drills. They state 38/min output without speed bonus, and with speed 2 bonus (240%) it's 90/min. 90/2.4 is 37.5
For assemblers we see actual float values. Why devs use precision loss approach for threshers and drills?
Can't tell, I also wonder. But the UI is something also about the receive a revamp.
Basically the UPM is calculating the input/output it can do in 1 minute
is what it seems like

It's for the thresher Mk2. Looks like machine doesn't use decimals for it's UPMs
This one would make me think the cluster bonus for the research balls is working. 3 should output 150. I will be curious to see what tech support says.
It probably is. I would need to check the other machines but I based on the 1 assembler picture above that seems to have decimal places, I think the thresher mk2's UPMs are set to whole numbers only
After some brief spot checks, it seems that the UPM formula calculates how many it can per minute with no regard to cycle timing.
It seems that the Thresher might just need a text update to include decimal places to make it right
I vaguely recall there was a UI reason for why this ended up this way, but I can't recall what it is. Regardless, will mention!
Thanks!
The (smelter's/assembler's in this case) cycle time is what results in the values. What's not regarded is wether or not those quantities can be processed by inserters putting items in/out
@primal hound just as an item for design backlog for a future UI pass, we might want to standardize decimals across the machine metrics.
will this include UI for planters and such? Not being able to figure out ratios in a factory game is kinda funky
the remaining grow time is shown in the UI https://i.imgur.com/pMwacqt.png
Planters are 2 UPM if they are fully stocked but that depends on them having seeds waiting to be inserted
Pressing Left Alt seems to run on advanced UI but I didn't think it applied to planter interface
