Is it more space efficient to group core composers as close as possible or spread them to maximise the amount of cores per composer?

It is better to cluster them otgether in several sapces

several towers at Victor 1-2 near Lima, several at Hydroelectric station and rest at elevator cave

Sorry maybe I should have been more clear. Would it be best to put them right next to each other or the 15 or so squares apart to hit the limit on each one

I think close as possible because map is finite and u need to use your free space effectively.
When you put core composer far from the other you just loose a lot of empty space where in theory could research cores there.

In other way trying to hit 100% capacity of every single core composer dont give you anything.

In research tree you get bonuses to smelting and processing speed for every cluster of research cores.
The cluster is 10 cores if i remember corectly.

Earlier when i start playing for the First time i thougth that i get bonus for 100%complete Core composer but its not.

So it doesnt matter if you have full core cluster or not
So in this way of thinking doesnt matter to be ause bonuses count bonus for every 10 cores whatever they are.

Correct
Every 5 blue gems and 10 purple gems is a cluster

i put my core composers all next to each other and once they began to T out, i would stop feeding them and build new ones. course i also put them on top of each other, just building vertical.

Yeah it does seem to be the best option to just spam them close together

Are you guys sure it’s the best idea to pack them as closely together as possible? Because at the top of the core tower there usually are a bunch of cores which expand horizontally from the tower

amount of core that sprawls not that much

You lose (potentially) 576 cores when you stack them right next to each other and lose the mushroom up top but gain a lot more by having towers right next to each other.

Personally I build them spaced a bit apart so that there're 5 cores of space between each tower, then remove them when they're full and place them back in the gaps to create a solid wall of cores with no space between at all.

I’ve thought about it, and yes, maybe the amount of cores per is lower is they’re placed next to each other, but at least there is no space wasted between the mushrooms

(edit: deleted, math was off)

What's the total size of a composer mushroom again? I think it was 15 by 15 at the top, and 16 total cores tall? That's an area that would fit 3600 cores of which a single composer only places 1000. If my numbers there are right and you arrange the composers to completely fill all available space, you get over 3 times the cores in the same area, at the cost of not being able to travel through easily any more. Can still walk under where the composers used to be though, seeing as there's no reason to leave them in place once their job is done.
