Is there a use for Biobricks outside of Mk I mining drills and smelters? Cos I have been making a lot of Biobricks, and I am wondering if I'm just wasting resources or not at this point.

so there is mk 2 furnaces later on that burn through pretty quick, but as you scale the biobrick tech you won't need to craft as much as you might be now, and to be honest you really only need stems for early game to burn anyways

I find bio bricks are extremely useful when you get lots of mk 1 drill and mk 2 drills because making an automatic fuel source with it is really easy and efficient I've created mine early game and I've never worried about fuel in running like 8 mk 2 furnaces 3 mk 1 furnaces and 9 mk1 drill and and just two assemblers with sufficient resources keeps the whole fuel line backed up ensuring you aways have fuel. I've never had fuel issues besides for when I accidentally broke a fuel supply line deleting temporary machines and conveyors

One thing I've noticed is that smelters are way too slow for Mk II mining drills, add to that the slowness of even fast inserters when dealing with anything that yields a high amount of product in a short time.

you have to chain several to a belt

I have been thinking of simply creating a scaffolding of sorts around ore veins and just putting as many mining drills as possible all over it, then wrapping a belt around to collect the ore and feeding that belot into a crap ton of smelters.

you will also get a mk 2 smelter eventually

Yeah, I like my scaffolding idea I mentioned. I think I'mma try that.

I haven't got to Mk II smelters yet.
