New Balance is going to be title and championship sponsor of the MCLA starting in 2024
SC rules
Florida beating Clemson 11-4 and Georgia Tech almost losing to Auburn was interesting this weekend
It’s the beginning of the year but Auburn already showing they can compete
Any thoughts on other MCLA teams early in the season?
Oregon looking promising
Anyone have any idea how the rankings SHOULD be?
Cause without being able to watch most of these games I’ve got a limited view on how well some of these teams are doing
When is SEC lacrosse going D1 ?
I don’t see any teams in the sec going d1 any time soon
Scholarships are dominated by football
Apparently Kyle Hartzell was brought on at UTs MCLA team to get them potentially as an NCAA D1 team! Per the latest Rise up podcast
The bigger issue is Title 9. Basically every sport besides football and basketball is a cost center instead of a revenue generator. Schools have to bring on a balanced number of mens and womens sports so its adding two or cutting one and adding one
Texas has the money to do it, plus has ample amount of women’s sports that are club which could make the jump
Yea on the Rise Up podcast that was mentioned
Hartzell said that it was $50M for men to go d1 and they needed to bring a womens sport along likely lacrosse for another $50M
That frankly seems steep, but my experience in D2 operating with 6 scholarships to give probably isn't the best comparison to a SEC Athletic Department
I thought he said it was 30-50 million total to elevate mens and women's lacrosse to d1, I could be wrong though
