The F-35 is equipped with the AN/ALQ-260(V)1 style expendable active decoys for missile defense. It's reasonable to assume these would exist in the future as well. Active Decoys are added to all airframes. The higher the RCS to more decoys you'll need to expend so their emissions imitate the launching aircraft strongly enough to decoy a radar guided missile.

For best use cut emissions, turn off your radar, and turn to the 180 degree arc so the decoys are deployed between the aircraft and the weapon. With the radar on and/or having a closing aspect to the missile will increase the number of decoys required significantly.

A stealth aircraft may need to launch 1 or 2 with the wings clean. The Tarantula needs to launch 8 to 10

exactly how they work is still classified but you can generally assume they mimic the radar returns of the aircraft to confuse the missile.

yes by shouting it way louder then the actual aircraft and they only disconnect as a last second resort

also they aren't expendable i believe it is reeled back in if not destroyed

I don't see how thats physically possible, have you see the size of these active towed, and active non-towed decoys such as the britecloud? they're tiny.

do you know how radar jamming works..? also not detached i mixed it up

they are literally just fancy antenna

all the work is done by the onboard computers

and the cable towing it is a fiber optic cable

My understanding based off of the very, very little information thats been put out of both products is that they don't jam, they emit signals similar enough to the host that radar guided missiles go for it

that is jamming in a sense

"Jamming" is just spoofing radar signals and yelling them back to make the radar think something not real is real

the ones i am familiar with are the T-1687/ALE-70(V) electronic warfare (EW) towed decoys for F-35

As far as I'm aware the britecloud has been in existence for a while with the eurofighter, im unsure about f35, but i wouldn't be surprised if some nations used britecloud becuase the whole advantage was that they fit inside of the two main chaff/flare

My understand of jamming is essentially emitting a more powerful (distance is also a factor) radio wave than what you are trying to jam

Take this with agrain of salt, but for the short while i was using it i felt way more susceptible to RDM.

compass kinda has a little bit of a lifting body thing going on and the wings slow it down a lot

there used to be a meta where you sheered the wings off the revoker and it performed wayyyy better lol

This is a nice mod. Would it be possible to visually use, for example, the flare effect but with the glow turned down/different color? It's nice to have a visual confirmation of deployment, like when flying 3rd person

The less stealthy the aircraft the more you have to use, preferably heading away from the missile.

i know but even in somewhat stealthy aircraft it just doesnt do anything
