Title says it all, they usually end up just spinning around under the fuselage whilst it tries to recover them.

Just experienced the same. The issue is also that since it can't finish retrieving the cable as the pilot collides with the bottom of the IBIS, you're stuck with an unrecoverable hook until you despawn.
