#better graphics?

If you fly its okay
Wouldn't hurt
Unlike physics (which is what actually kills FPS) graphics can be turned down
Would be nice but the lower graphics enable people on a variety of hardware to play.
Perhaps a better solution would be a "HD Graphics Pack" DLC type thing. Though, if this were to be implemented, this would be quite a way down the line as the team are still working on game play.
I think this is intentional to speed up development time and increase performance.
During a livestream where Mitch designed new building blocks, he indicated he cared about getting the point across that there are buildings. At speed in the air you don't notice details, and he was thinking a lot about how many polygons were being used.
Lower polygons means bigger cities for the same performance.
adding on to whats already said, i do believe better/more buildings are planned, iirc in the new roadmap it mentions explicitly updates to both heartland and ignus
this is correct, the devs have made a point to make the buildings low poly and they've done a great job at optimizing the game for lower end hardware.
Imo the low poly is fine, but I'd like better textures, SSGI, Better anti Aliasing options (maybe even upscaling options specifically for their Anti Aliasing) and maybe volumetric clouds?
The game handles particles especially egregiously, with clouds and smoke from explosions dropping frames on even high end rigs
One immersion breaking aspect is that there are some 2D trees baked into the cityblock textures. That looks silly imo
for a long time every window on every ship/building had the same reflection. (might still have it)
Yes, also the reflection in the aircraft seems to be a static png of low altitude between buildings, maybe south boscali airbase or so.
