#Target Filter Presets/Binds

I have heard that radial menus are already in development, I hope that any menu bind can be added to this menu. Combined with my suggestion, this would provide great controller QOL.

If we could configure custom presets for target Selection filters and associate them to keybinds then that would dramatically reduce the load required to open menus and switch to the M/K mid-fight. I could see this being easily implemented into HUD options on the in-game map menu with the "Nav/A2A/EW/etc" modes each getting a keybind option.

More simply, adding keybind options to toggle the "Target Filter Categories" (the menu shown in pic) would drop the need to use a mouse at least down to just a keyboard. While I'm here, I'd request a bind option for Clear Targets, also. Thank you!

@vernal nexus why did you down vote it?

Search for control remapping, binds, or other related subjects. Many have tried, none have succeeded.

AND TO FIGHT FOR WHATS RIGHT!

# vernal nexus Provides an unfair advantage

That is certainly one of the opinions I have ever heard. This game is final boss of simcade, large map flight games. I understand you might see frantically clicking on small menu buttons as part of the skill issue but an "unfair advantage" is absolutely preposterous. Making flight games playable on a controller is pretty standard practice for the genre and I think this a pretty easy route there

Let's focus on what makes flight sim fun: strategy, resource management, communication. Not... "Noooo you have click on the button to play game". Nothing in suggesting would unavailable to K/M setup, can we get some real feedback why this is a bad idea?

Turn on controller menu navigation.

Ok, well if any normal people want to have this discussion, I'm all ears. Thanks for bumping the thread I guess, the down vote will give it extra attention.

some one will make a mod i think

I've heard that requesting single target mode and weapon cycles are silent bannable, didn't wanna bring those up explicitly. Good threads tho

#

I say silent bannable but using my brain for 2 seconds I now realize that that individual had reposted a topic.

Well that may have been the single most off topic thread to ever be posted. I suppose I will keep my wireless track pad close and stop dreaming about controller only play.

So can someone coherently explain to me why they need everyone else to use a mouse for something as innocuous as target type filters?

Still not tracking where we're disconnecting. My point with this whole post is suggesting some ways to make the game less about fumbling with filters so that we can focus on the good parts. Especially for players who want to play using only a controller. I provided a few different ways of doing it, which was immediately met with comments about that being unbalanced and summoning demons to change the name of a missile.

So allow me to apologize for being out of the loop and taking the response to that sidewinder with some passive aggression.

What part of the suggestion do you not like? I did pile a handful of points in there, and can't tell which part is controversial.
