#Tarantula equivalent when nations get their own units

I think we'll need something like Chinook at some point so that we can add a real Chinook without crutches later when custom aircrafts become real
dose he know?
ibis moment
i know it's rude to count*** someone else's work, but I've been compiling a list of aircraft for a long time, and before starting to officially support custom aircraft and so that mod devs can add 99% of 20th and 21st century millitary aircraft into the game without crutches, Mitch needs to add at least:
a classic scheme helicopter with a real tail rotor, not an impeller
a classic scheme helicopter with NOTAR
A tiltrotor that is more of a helicopter than an airplane (that have swash plate to maneuver, like V-22 and 280, and unlike Tarantula)
A tandem like Chinook
Intermeshing or Synchropter helicopter
Something fast that will force Mitch to add brake parachutes
Something with reverse thrust
Something amphibious, like a Mi-14 or Albatross
Something that may require separate engine thrust control for yawing (B-2)
we do NOT need TWO 155’s on a helicopter
but what if the enemy are hiding behind 3 skyscrapers and a concrete wall?
they aren’t, also not what 155’s are used for
155s are used for long range artillery so you can arch the rounds over any cover plus they would be good at cheaply killing plane factorys the 75mm guided rounds have trouble killing fortifications
the 75mm already has a very long range, able to hit targets over 30-40km comfortably. and frankly i think that such targets should require more than a gun anyway.
why does it have four bladeees
this is the concept art made by someone else that inspired mitch to create the new utility helicopter
woah what
i see what the does he know messages mean now lol im a bit late to the party
but give me another chance slap 2 howitzers on the new utility helicopter
it has twin 40mm’s for you
ohh well
he doesnt know
We need a rule where you need to check the dev blog channel before making a suggestion
roadmap...
roadmap doesnt have specifics
doesn't the B2 use split flaps for yaw?

it does both.
imo this is still something we need. PALA coax wont hold a candle to the Tara's transport capability, at some point pala will need some parity to the actually heavy lift role. Conversely, BDF will need a medium lift in the future as well
we dont need all the faction vehicles to do the same things
there must be pros and cons
we need both factions to have at least a semblance of strategic parity. ATM PALA is completely left behind in invasion power.
Annex can deploy mainline units, Tarantula can deploy 20t of lighter units, and from a carrier. There is no parallel to either of these two capabilities in PALA equipment yet.
i could see them makeing a crusier with invasion stuff
Ibis will be capable of spawning from naval assets too
with sub-10t cargo capacity and no internal carry volume.
I'm not saying it's not gonna be fun to fly, but if you're trying to think about the PALAcoax in the same paradigm as the Tarantula, you'll be disappointed.
well, pala is confirmed to be more defensive than offensive. Moreover, considering the price, you can buy three Ibises for the price of one Tarantula, and carry 3 lcv-25 instead of two
strict separation of factions' aircrafts is not going happen literally tomorrow. There are plenty of time to give Pala something faster as rapid captivating force
iirc coax will have sling loading capabilities, with somewhere around the same maximum load as a tarantula (ofc it's definitely gonna be a bit lower)*
but also I think that having slight imbalances is fine
*source: heard it in a dev stream I think
actually, Mitch worked on sling loading on the last dev stream lol
no, it'll be far lower than the Tara. Tara can carry 20t, Pala coax isn't even confirmed to have a max lift of 10 yet
can't do coop sling loading because of how physics works
yup; all the calculations for a airframe's physics are done on your computer, when sling loading something its part of your airframe for physics purposes, so one of the players would have all their airframe's calculations done on the other's computer and would have a lot of lag as well as the other player experiencing a lot of resource utilization because they'd be running two airframes simultaneously
so mitch decided to just not let it happen
in the devstream it sounded like he was pretty set on it
oh thats…. really inconvenient…
fair i play a lot of SP too but still i enjoy doing multiplayer fairly often, it really sucks if that doesnt get changed actually thats kinda disappointing (obviously i understand the reasoning of mitch tho but… damn.)
i'm fairly certain that mitch said you couldn't slingload other player's aircraft. having a core aspect of an aircraft be unusable in a mp balanced game would be a massive oversight, and this dev team have proven themselves to be far more competent than that
yes you can slingload in mp, but you cannot slingload the same vehicle as another player. apologies for the confusion
it was a joke anyways lol
coop slingloading would require an amount of teamwork that would probably not be justified by the amount of cargo you can fly
oh this makes significantly more sense, i thought you meant only ONE person on the SERVER could sling load at a time, i think you can understand my disappointment with that but alr i understand now all good
it's okay soldier, you can slingload as many vehicles as you want <3
in my humble opinion, the developers should also develop defensive turrets, because the ones already in the game either face forward or shoot 360 degrees, which is completely different.
Maybe a large hangar aircraft would need something like those?
aint that the jet IL-10?
2, 102
that poor thing
while it has fallen out of fashion for B52 bombers to have a tailgun, since they won't have to get in such contested airspace, it could work better for NO since most large aircraft like the darkreach or the tarantula are quite defenseless when targeted in their blindspots
tail mounted CIWS hell yea
That's one helluva stinger
Give it AHEAD/Proxy so it works against missiles
crazy how the guy deleted it
true, but the suggestion is still up, i still would like a bigger cargo aircraft equivalent for pala
