#Bomb update?

Glider gpo 500 - giant radar cross section, fodder for any radar missiles, and if those are taken out its impossible to defeat by anti air
Glide pab 250 - same problem as 500, ruins the close in nature that bombs need and the upside of using bombs is no ir missile intercepts it but you gotta be close
Glide demo bomb- would need wings about 50 meters across, the thing weights 12 tonnes if i recall
Glider bombs with rocket boosters is just called a missile
Gpo 1000 - auger, what would you even need this for
Agm 98 - YES OFC 100% 🤑🤑🤑🤑
Glide bombs with boosters exist actually
Yeah true i forgot about that, but like i think they just have no reason because if you have them go past mach 1, the heating would make them viable to be shot by ir missiles then
but still modern military uses big glider bombs to strike big targets and GPO-500 and GPO-250 have already a big cross section but they are in the game also PAB-80 can be intercepted with radar AA to, about the demo bomb you are right, Auger has 800kg warhead not a 1000 one, the 1000 kg can be used to demolish 2 or 3 targets at one go, AGM-98 YES OFC!!!!!
agm-98 mentioned, opinion accepted
thankyou!
Want to take out many targets at once?
you need a darkreach ar a tarantula to get the demo bomb to the target they are to expansive one bomb for revolker would be nice
A GPO-1000 with a rocket booster on it would make me so happy https://youtu.be/3z9zwqYJwe0?si=pwfFQJvmHE-rGxVc
The Air-to-Ground Guided Missile-130 (AGM-130) is a powered air-to-surface missile designed for high- and low-altitude strikes at standoff ranges against a variety of targets. The AGM-130 is integrated on the F-15E which is capable of carrying two missiles, one on each inboard store station. The AGM-130 Surface Attack Guided Munition program pro...
I just bring one word to the discussion: balance.
It'd be cool, but makes many other weapons redundant. But there's obviously irl precidant so worth a discussion
I like the idea but I’m worried about balance too
Maybe payload would more restricted for these bombs? Like have them only be droppable by Darkreaches or something?
my PAB-350LR concept
p2082 mentioned 🔥
Love the NO JSOW
imo restricting larger glide bombs for example (like GPO-400LR or whatever) to one per pylon for jets or 1/2 of standard darkreach GPO-500 bomb count would be enough of a balance
if it has a 10:1 glide ratio for example
this probably could be summed up to extra weight and size
You can also limit them to external stores or make them increase drag substantially
And especially with the rank up system right now, lower end jets may only be able to use certain weapons. You can probably limit store weight for things on the compass
later down the line, different macro selections of weapons by the server host could be cool. Effectively have pre-war weapons, and then the ones rapidly put together like the ones discussed here, to increase standoff (like irl conflicts...)
AGM-130 my beloved 😍
rip razbam
Something related I would really would like is "cheap" and lightweight cruise missiles. Akin to the Storm Shadow irl. Something that can be launched from multirole fighters
The ALM is super Storm-Shadow like lol
pretty much
I mean the Ifrit can launch the ASHM cruise missiles, so can the ‘Dusa
I want something smaller that can fit in the bays though. Something for taking out building and convoys from a distance
But we need pab2000
Stick some giant wings onto the demobomb

the demobomb is technically a pab 11000
But if be a serious, a good variant to create something similar lika pab 80 lr, but which will fly low as cruise missile in terminal phase. With 400-800kg TNT
Lower radar cross section with stealth design
nuclear bomb with glider and 1sec truster
In my hood all we pray for are internal glidebombs, generally more glidebombs are nice too.
i think mitch said he would do this, but he needs to redesign the PAB-80LR first so that its tail fins don't restrict its placement
doesnt have to be the pablo necessarily, could be a new one aswell
i think demo bombs need to be armored like augers are, so that they're at least marginally useful
But thermobaric bombs arent armored
the problem isn't that demo bombs aren't armored, is that they barely make any sense in this game. for them to be useful the following conditions need to be true:
- local AA is eliminated
- a decent enough number of enemies is clustering pretty tight
- you have enough time to fly over there with a darkreach or a tarantula (you won't) before someone sweeps it with an AGM-48 truck
this is exceedingly rare
counterpoint: add infantry
I don't see how this is a counterpoint to any of the points made
adding some armor would at least allow you to leave one spaag alive
Demobomb is a joke weapon, dont lose your head over it.
The other great thing about big glide bombs: they give you enough space for interesting payloads
CEBs, skeets, landmines, runway disruptors, etc
pab-350lr-N (0.5kt)
"i despise that tank in particular"
Cluster bombs (smaller explosive yield per bomblet) on some kind of airburst could be a great one for taking out convoys of light behicles
