Some ideas to augment sounds "realism" in the realm of possibility for 0.31

-Jet startup sounds (shamless plug of me)
Was announced in a dev stream afaik and may come in the next patch but anyways

-Doppler delay for guns, since they've been added to explosions Im assuming making it a thing for players could be "easy"

-Increasing sounds of guns, the cockpits can stay the same but the sounds are generally drowned by the engines, even the compass guns gets a little muffled due to the engines

-"Longer ranged" plane sfx, rn we barely hear planes until their quite close to you im thinking some kind of "howling" for further away jets could play or anything similar for any veicules

-if possible a fix to the looping of sounds in the game as this as been an issue since early playtest im wondering if a fix would be possible

oh if an airbase is fired upon it should sound sirens untill the threat is clear

this is mostly already underway as part of an upgrade to engine sounds, with the exception of a time of flight for gun sounds. It is not an "easy" problem like it is for sound events

I feel slightly vindicated by listening to plane crashes in Arma and noticing that the engine sound cuts out instantly when the plane explodes, and then there's a several second delay before you hear the explosion

DCS does have time of flight for all of its sounds, but they probably also have an audio system built entirely around that being a feature of sound

not in that sense, but it would require making a virtual version of every sound so you can control its playback, and there's absolutely zero guarantee that I could make that work well. The sound bug I think is related to the origin shift causing doppler affected sounds to be pitch shifted for a single frame. It needs investigation.

I assume by "sound bug" you mean the high pitched squeak/click that can be heard sometimes every few seconds while firing a gun? If you're referring to the tarantula making demonic screaming noises, that is a different bug
