#Right-mounted 76mm for tarantula, in the missile rack slot

just fly upside down
dont let big gravity dictate what way your gun fires
I do think being able to choose which side your gun is on would be nice just for convenience or pilot ergonomics sake, but having both a right and left side gun at the same time is just no. If you want the right gun you can't have the left gun, and vice versa
I mean it looks OP on the surface but it's just simply impractical tp have both as it's a bit of a waste of money
its a gunship, all it needs to do is circle the area
never said it was OP, just... kinda dumb
I just want it renamed to something like 155 or 200mm
That thing's performance in no way indicates a caliber as small as 76mm, especially when you factor in the need for a guidance module.
im not sure you realize how big 155 and 200 is, the tanks ingame shoot 130
the 2S7 Pion is the biggest artillery piece of the Soviet-Russian armory with its 207mm artillery, if you want a size comparison look on images when shown next to a CAESAR
There's no way in perdition that thing on the Tarantula, which seemingly eats everything that's not hardened for breakfast, is just a 76mm (and a guided one at that).
Its performance IMO is more akin to a heavier howitzer.
155mm would be more appropriate to how it performs.
also the 2S7 shells are absolutely massive compared to people even if they use charges
Consider, for a moment, the performance on the Tarantula cannon.
It kills....everything; incuding tanks from the front if I'm not mistaken.
Direct hit with a 3" HE shell will knock over pretty much everything. 155s and 203s just don't get direct hits without guided munitions that frequently. THe key here is direct hits rather than caliber.
Also DPICM exists for larger guns.
is it really?
most of the cost is in the guided shells, i don't think the gun is particularly sophisticated
Since you have a portal to November 2024 opened, can you please tell past me not to try stalker gamma and anomalies?
Now why would I do that?
Well, since you're there...
Because how can you say that the tarantula cannon kills everything, if it was fixed at the end of November, and from that moment it kills MBTs with 25-55(!!!!) shells in the frontal/side, and in vulnerable places with at least 3 shots
i fly it from time to time and it feels like 5 are always enough
I just checked
rn it's feels literally like patchless 0.29
But last time checked it in 0.29.5 it was just like I wrote above
I know
I just fly inverted lol works p gud
it measures roughly 0.076m (76mm) in Blender... so the size is right at least 🐴
sometimes takes two hits for a linebreaker and 6+ for tanks anyway
tbf a fast, high explosive shell hitting the roof of an aluminium hulled vehicle that isn't even 0.50 proof should do crippling damage
