#The AShM-300 anti-ship cruise missile is very effective against aircraft at long ranges.

1). If it was launched at a target that at that moment was in the range of your or allied radars, then the missile does not care at all whether in the future the information about its location will be updated on the target at which it was launched, it knows where the target is and it flies towards it at an altitude of 9 meters above the ground, which does not allow it to be intercepted by air defense systems on the map.
2). When approaching the target, the missile begins to turn very strongly and try to ram the target, if it does not succeed, it makes a circle, sits on the tail of the plane and slowly catches up with it until it crashes into it.
3). The launch warning system does not record this missile and does not notify the pilot that this missile is flying towards it.

I like that the cruise missile can just do this. It is an expensive, supersonic, datalinked, and optical tracking drone in 2070 after all.
It is weird it doesn't care about datalink loss, because it does care when ships are datalink lost right.

In today's world suicide FPV drones could be said to be anti-ground munitions. But they have also taken out helicopters already. Even though the drone is usually slower than the target.

It does care about datalink loss, that's actually a big issue with it doing a2a. I've been messing with them since the update for a2a and they definitely need radar tracks for their targets until they get within optical range. If they don't have a track they self destruct at the last known location of their target. This makes them terrible at chasing fleeing targets.
Also AShMs not giving a warning is intentional. Optical bombs and other weapons without boosters don't give warnings either.

Yes please I love my silly ASHMs; do not fix this

Okay, let's get to the bottom of this issue.
After launching ASHM and AGM99 flies to the last target location. as it approaches the destination ASHM uses optics - it finds the helicopter, turns to it and flies straight at it
Due to the fact that nowadays helicopter flights are like a ‘horror’ in which you need to look every ~4 seconds for approaching AHSM's and AGM99.
I propose a solution - Make notification of threat when AHSM's or AGM99's switch to optical tracking. After all, there is such a thing with AGM48 and others.
Then why can't you track an ASHM that is following you and flying straight at you ?

Its a different type of munition, not optical, radar and etc
and I guess noone thought of adding a warning to its type with is cruise missiles, especially when they quite bad against targets that are fast

From my testing, agm-99 fails always if you are having good speed, moving perpendicularly (with is true for all cruise missiles) and low, mainly countered by altitude and the fact that they are doing top attack, wasting all its speed and lowering way to much
ASHM will often fail in the same scenario, overshooting its target because of sheer speed it has and it dont have enough time/maneuverability to steer near the heli, exploding nearby without any damage
while ALM-450 is often can hit its target, because of lower speed, with is giving it enough time to get on your six

All cruise missile explode if they will get past you (most likely they dont check distance to you, they only check relative distance from launch to a target and when its 0 they explode anyway)

We get a notification that an IR missile has been launched at us. Although it (if I'm not mistaken) can be detected directly by the pilot himself with his eyes.
Based on this fact, I believe that the helicopter, or any other vehicle in this game, detects the threat with optical sensors.
So what's the problem with making an ASHM warning ?
I don't see it as a useless addition. Without it, it's extremely tedious to constantly look at suspiciously flying AHSMs that can suddenly swerve into you.

The ASHM can pull excessive G at 30+ and can out run the Vortex. It can also loop around if it misses. It's main weakness is the fusing sometimes goes off early.
