let HLT Tractors move R9 Launchers around (if it isnt too difficult to implement) since it alr fits almost perfect
could be in a convoy, could be a buyable asset like the tank platoon (buy one launcher + radar, make it decently expensive, maybe give it an IR sam + SPAAG for defense while on transit)
they wouldnt be able to fire when in transit to a new location
think it'd give some more immersion and would let teams get R9 sites back up/give incentive to hunt convoys to prevent that

The only Stratolance redeployment we could want is Tarantulas being able to airlift additional launchers in case the launchers get whacked.
well my idea doesnt have to be the end result, feedback is what makes these kinds of things good. it would have to be something that would be fun for everyone
so for the issue of endless stratolances being a pain, there could be a cooldown (which i think there needs to be for the current system of "buying convoys" anyway) that could be longer
Hey now, there is no issue with me firing off 600m worth of convoys all at once
and the cooldowns could be sliders that the mission host could change too, but i think a cooldown would be useful so someone can't just buy 2b worth of convoys and lag the game
and it would balance the stratolances
10 stratolance sites at one airbases, how fun 😐
because its actually hard to get the money for that
and convoys arent endlessly cluttered with AA
Uhhhh....keep calm and keep firing? I keep seeing people screaming in at Mach ohdearlord and getting tagged by SAMs/MADs with little to show for it
well the way i was thinking is that you can spawn one r9 + radar and then a cooldown of say 5-10 minutes give or take, but the whole point of this is to put down a general idea and others can share their own thoughts on it

also. kinda a stretch but. give it to Tara. there's no real reason (other than balance) why a tarantula would be incapable of lifting a stratolance launcher. it's light enough, and is designed to fold to fit
idk if giving it to the tara would be good, maybe 1-2 in a convoy to set up/reinforce a site would be better

Probably less work than designing AI to drive to the site
less work, but also might be abusable and idk if a launcher would fit in the taranchula. plus, the models for the launchers are trailers which is why i had the idea in the first place
The launchers are trailers, but they fold in/out which means they can possibly fit, on top of that they are within the weight limit
just cause they could, doesnt mean they should. i think if they are going to be moveable, it has to have limits like being limited to movement with the tractor and not being able to fire until properly in place via convoy or something.

Again, Tarantula pilots would be the better candidates for moving them
I feel like the tarantula could drop them, and their only other way of moving would be by them disabling and getting towed to a new location by HLTs. They also cannot fire while in tow.

Of course, I like the idea of HLT tractors picking up various trailers and moving them closer to the action. Would be nice to catch a whole SAM site relocating...
I wanna catch out actually important convoys too, and not just tanks who will never do anything.
The problem I have with that is if that's all the team has for HIMAD assets, that can quickly end a game with little recourse as many Tarantula Pilots I see aren't likely to be capable of quickly slapping together an effective passive defense.
and then if possible, when losing territory and the same site starts getting in danger they could relocate to a diff position further behind friendly lines
it'll ultimately be required for them to be movable if they will be deployable from LHD onto newly captured islands in the next update. but idk if that will come
I love this idea, I've pushed for it. Gives the reason for the HLT tractor to exist
then make it super expensive and limited, say maybe a team can only buy 3 thoughout a game or something.
thats why i suggested it, the tractors dont do anything but look cool and i like putting them under r9s already, so why not have them move
would Kinda be cool if the AI would also then randomly after a certain time change position like how SAM sites do IRL ones they activate their radar the wont stay in the same spot for ever maybe have the AI set up in a way where if they think they are spotted they will move to a diffrent area and then turn their radar on again
The problem is how the Medusa would effectively "Stunlock" them, if you ping a medusa with a radar, it spots you, it's what makes the medusa so lethal against any kind of SAM site in the game.
What if they had a 1 in 5 chance of moving upon detection and a 1 in 3 chance of mobing if they detect an ARAD
I'd recommend it taking a bit of time to set up, like a minute or something
there could be measures against this, like it can only move every so often
