We need more electronic warfare aircraft, like a stealth plane goes mach 1.4, size of an Ifrit, only inner bayes that can carry 6 AGM-68 or 4 air to air missiles and does not jam the target all the time, but uses part of its power to turn of the targets electronic systems. Lets take a compass like an example, so this plane selects the compass and turns of its stability computer, targeting systems, all indicators and everything that the pilot sees throe his helmet, but still can fly the aircraft and if he wont crash everything will turn on after 20-25 seconds. So this plane can jam almost everything except the carrier and the cruiser, every target uses different amount of energy: plane one forth of the energy, rocket one fifth, ship all and ground units one eighth. This aircrafts purpose is to turn of and then destroy anti air, or support armed Ifrits with AGM-68 or any other anti ground weapons.
#Idea for EW aircraft

Jamming doesn't turn off anything, it just makes what a device receives unusable or confusing.
I did not call that jamming I said that it turns of the electronic systems if you have read the text
How do you suppose it does that
Some sort of electromagnetic pulse generator, perhaps? Seems on the verge of too sci-fi even for this, but it's not totally implausible.
While i do agree that having more types of ew aircraft would be nice, the idea that anotherplayer could just shut down some of your systems seems both very unfair, and also very infuriating
Sounds like a missile to me
it is only for 20 seconds and you can still shoot your gun and pop flares and control the plane
They already can - when you're radar jammed, you can't use the radar to spot things. It is somewhat infuriating, but also the point.
Just send a nuke to the upper atmosphere and EMP the whole map
But still if it seems unfair this plane would have only inner bayes with air to air missiles so no OP
Thats not shutting ti down, merely cluttering it with info
20 seconds sounds way too long for a total turn off of all the hud stuff though. If it's going to be that impactful, I think 15 seconds or maybe even just 10 seconds sounds more reasonable. That's a -long time- to not know where the thing you're targetting is, or if there's incoming missiles, etc.
It also sounds like a speciality missile, perhaps one that fits in the ARAM hardpoints but only one per pylon?
yeah good idea
The game doesn't represent it with radar clutter like, for example, Nebulous does. Functionally, when jammed, your radar just doesn't work (which is arguably nicer for the player than having 50 randomly jumping false contacts spew all over the hud.) Since datalink is so automatic and effective in this, it doesn't make all that much difference, since it's just your personal radar that doesn't do much. You can still see most of the things you could before, because the datalink is filling them in, and the optical sensors are still working etc, but, as far as I know (haven't tested it myself, just read about it from other's guides and such) if you were tracking something with your own radar it just goes away while you're being jammed.
turning off systems is not just unrealistic but unfun, hard pass on that for me
This sounds like a worse implemented Medusa...
Yeah this sounds like a less effective Medusa that is more annoying to deal with
