basically if you stare at the fireball you go momentarily blind, maybe make it a toggleable feature so it won't get annoying. or add shutters.

Just know that some nuke capable aircraft irl have special blinders to prevent that, and if they don’t you get an eyepatch so at least one eye still works afterwards

make it so we put on the nuke goggles with a toggle key or something and it reduces our vision but protects our eyes

well idk i just put 2 and 2 together but i believe its golden to avoid RADAR bouncing than actually protect the pilot from nuclear flashes

I think a more high tech way to do this is something like welding goggles. when a nuke goes off the visor or canopy darkens to become almost opaque to protect your from the flash. I guess different types of protection could be done to differentiate the planes in game

Making the canopy have a protective coating is a cool idea though, so maybe that could be done too

I guess it would be more interesting if all the different planes had different ways of protecting their pilots eyes. the cheaper/low end aircraft would have the pilots wear those special goggles I posted earlier. Compass, Cricket, Chicane, maybe tarantula. The darkreach can have the golden canopy. Ifrit's canopy just turns black when a nuke goes off keeping you from being blinded. These are just examples though.

It would be more work for the devs but it would add character I think.

You might be right, since the darkreach pilots don’t really need to see much except not to crash into things

If you’re in a fighter you might be in the middle of a fight so your canopy should allow you to see even while protecting you

Yeah in the 2070s when aircraft fly around and often see nukes go off we prob have a helmet visor that auto dims everything anyway
