#Utility/Tanker aircraft

I had 3 ideas for concept aircraft, 1 and 2 are interchangeable. So, I'm not sure if rescuing pilots gives points as I have not tested it, though it probably does as I think it should, and perhaps a utility/transport helo similar to the blackhawk in general design with 2 optional side gunner slots for .50 cals or miniguns as well as optional pylons for lynchpins and AGMs, and a rope system for pilots in water or in inaccessible crevices, or a utility VTOL like the osprey, or it could be jet powered (with the aforementioned ropes and some kind of defensive weapon). And lastly, a tanker. Capable of refueling the compass, revoker, darkreach, medusa, and that new fighter getting added soon via probe. Maybe it could even refuel helos with a drouge or two, minus the chicane.

while i can see a role for some kind of utility heli, there's kind of a major problem for something like a tanker would kinda suffer from the scale of the map, those types of aircraft need to be a couple hundred miles back in safer airspace. To borrow from the australian powerpoint man, think of all the airspace in NO as being either contested or denied. Plus, trying to make a tanker survivable is going to be kind of pointless since you can RTB fairly quickly

I see your point with the tanker.

Perhaps a refueling pod could be fitted to a utility aircraft? Some real life fighters can carry them too.

That's what I was thinking.

Or some other support aircraft.

Even with the airplane automatically sticking to the tanker it would be faster to land on airfield (Given that they're going to be on the edge of the map anyway, that's where the airfields are)

I do wish he'd be more careful about venturing outside his own wheelhouse though. Like he's solid on the economics/procurement side but also....someone like bronk is not a great source if you're looking to get into the technical side of 21st century air warfare

I feel like he made some decent enough points in his future drone warfare video. But yeah its clear that that's not his forte.

i was comparing it to the hornet, which can refuel other hornets. similar to the hornet, the compass is small (low potential fuel load), used for a lot of stuff (strikes, air to air, etc)
