Currently the target selection system can be unwieldy at times. Something that might help with this would be the addition of selection modes. This would involve being able to only select a certain type of target (for example, ground units) with either a specific key for each target type, or a key to cycle between selectable target types.

Then why can I select ground targets when I have MMRs selected? Those things may have been good against ground targets a few patches back I hear, but they are functionally useless now

Kind of annoying when a Revoker flying really low and I'm trying to lock him but get a vehicle instead

if you look exactly at any target, with any weapon, you will lock it, even if there are priority targets right next to it

Since NO is a sim-lite, this is one of those areas where I suppose it's debatable whether or not this sort of thing is out of scope, but it still might be nice to have general air-to-air and air-to-ground modes that force target selection to either air or ground units. Don't know about you guys but I'd prefer not to have to worry about accidentally locking ground targets when I'm carrying a full air-to-air load and there's a Revoker coming in low and fast. Maybe also have a "free target" mode as default (basically what we have now) for people who want things more simplified?

Made a post similar to this before. Would love to see some more targeting support for dogfights and grouped targets.
