So I am assuming at some point in this games development voice chat will be implemented. I suggest adding some level of air traffic control role to the game to add to not only immersion but order among the chaos as well. This could direct players on where and when to land, as well as where they are needed. The air traffic controller could be a player role. Additionally this could be implemented before voice chat, and utilize a priority text chat that is broadcast to an entire side. Players could announce a departure, landing, approach, and other such things. Just a simple suggestion, thanks!

ingame voice chat isn't planned afaik
its not on the roadmap either
you know what they say, assuming makes an ass out of u and mi
To be fair ATC is probably needed when carriers are introduced,
Since there is one VERY SHORT landing zone that can easily have aircraft crossing it at any time
True, I just figured since I remember someone saying smth about it earlier
Exactly what I was thinking
I would not want to follow a complete ATC procedure to take off and land, however there could be a simple system :
- when you are at zero speed on the ground, the tower assigns a 'take off ticket' to your plane and you have a UI element on your screen that tells you if you are free to take off or still in the waiting queue
- when you have your landing gear extended and around a friendly airbase, the tower assigns a 'landing ticket' to your plane, and you have a UI element on your screen to tell you if you are in the waiting queue or free to land. Damaged aircraft get priority, AI planes are told to wait, players are told to wait but will still do as they please...
Yeah this is nice, we do need the functionality
