I agree with this one 110%. This is a feature on many modern fighter aircraft, like the F-15.
I think its on all. Its not just a realism thing though, i think it will make the cannon more viable in a missile meta and the auto cannon paied up with the cannon will make them more useful.
For sure. It's a lot easier to use the cannon when you can just press a button to fire it instead of having to cycle to it
Yeah. Exactly. And typically cannon is used in a merge where you need to slit second fire at something passing your nose. Right now we have to consciously decide to use the cannon, which means most people just missile spam then use it as a back up.
Yeah. The rare case when I use it is if I'm either out of missiles or I'm wallowing around about 200-400 yards behind an enemy aircraft and I have plenty of time to select it
f18
if i might expand on this idea, have the option to configure custom keybinds to specific weapons
so if you load for example 20mm gunpods, AGM-48, AGM-68, and IRM-S1 you could fire each weapon with a different bind so you don't have to quickly switch through the menu and miss a brief window of oppertunity
That's too much
wat
Hornet does have a single trigger for everything, but at least it has a mode selection switch that let's you turn on the gun quickly instead of having to cycle through all of your weapons to get to it
I see
Need to play more DCS
basically cannon salvo?
it is used for all air to air, air to ground (except for the gun) is still the pickle button
Ah, that's right
What if we could do this for all weapons
I mean not a necessity, the cycle system should remain, but it would be cool to seperate the jammer or laser from my trigger, my finger doesnt like being gripped in a raised position like that for a long period
i would count them into guns, they have to be held
most other weapons are just click
A dedicated direct fire weapon button (laser/cannon)
