how would the missiles know what yield to use?
As in realife pre flight with the programming device. A laptop linked to a decoder/weapon controller block pluged into the weapon you can decrypt it ,encrypt it again , change yield , make it inoperable , prep it for disasembly etc etc . Ingame you can just scrowl the yield and select it before you get into the plane. There are also posibilities for the nuclear control device onboard which performs the last arming just at the point of drop , to manually change yield while inflight based on your judgment. Ingame tgat would be a button like page up page down etc...

Not if you have yourself and friends too close to the target. Also interesting about the b61 it is retarded by a huge parachute but at certain height over ground if its going to be used in the ground pen mode ,rocket motors fire acelerate and spin it a few hundred meters before hiting the ground ,simultaneously detaching the parachute.

20 kilotons is quite the restricted range for such weapons , given theme of the game and actual potential with the visuals and everything large explosions would be cinematic enough to be used as a visual reference in reality.
Just so everyone knows if this is a thing I'd always set it to max and slap whomever is in a Chicane with it, basically playing the ultimate game of horse shoes and hand grenades

A 20kt is enough to take out an airfield of any size, we don't really have anything bigger we need exploded

Aha , havent read those , well its mainly a call for higher yield weapons, since I play the game only for visuals and nukes.

Rather than yield, maybe something that can be switched between ground burst and air burst. It would give the nerds who want a nuke they can play with before they drop it what they want, and would be potentially useful.
To be honest, there have been situations where the 1.5kt was too small, and the 250kt was too powerful and risked destroying friendly targets, so being able to dial it to another preset would be advantageous to maximizing destruction of targets while minimizing friendly casualties

I'll actively advocate for 1 megaton bombs for this game, but I'm guessing it would make more sense on a bigger map
Soviet KH-15N has dial up to 500kt
While being both AShM and LACM
And min yield is around 20kt
