Not going to bother with realistic packs and stuff

honest tinsel
#

Holy crap, Yu-Gi-Oh rarities are a mess lmao

honest tinsel
#

Might just lump all the less than ones together

mossy stag
#

reminds me, i found a few missing pokemon cards

#

I'll check when I'm home but fairly sure it was all Sabrina centric

#

with missing I mean cards that don't appear to have a fitting texture

honest tinsel
#

I'll have to check - thought I caught all the issues

honest tinsel
#

Found the issues and resized the card art for good measure.

mossy stag
#

Coolio

#

Yeah I didn't get around to finding them busy weekend

mossy stag
#

I might get working on a Machi Koro redo

#

I love that game and I think it would work really well in Game Night

mossy stag
#

I... am getting surprisingly far surprisingly quick

#

I decided to go for a very old style of cards and I got replacement art for... basically most cards.

#

Gonna use public domain paintings for the illustrations

#

Just have to make borders and generate the cards which isn't gonna be too hard

honest tinsel
#

I wrote up a guide for batch/automation in PS

mossy stag
#

Honestly, slay

#

Ignore the orange marks and the painting spilling out of the frame

#

But like, this HITS

#

I am probably gonna simplify the top right seals a little more and make the card name larger but man, this his exactly the type a vibe I wanted to achieve

#

And then revise everything again once I realize that it I need to scale it down for the ingame textures but I'm not there yet ๐Ÿ˜Ž

honest tinsel
#

If you're using Photoshop look up masking layers

#

Would make that spill over stuff very easily handled

mossy stag
#

Not quite at the stage yet

#

I'm making my life harder now to have it easier later, doing a pre-layout pass with inkscape

#

Also using Gimp so ๐Ÿ˜ญ

#

actually gimp also has masking layers

honest tinsel
#

That's good

mossy stag
#

Fun's done, onto the work

#

I think this will be the final layout, gonna need to properly assemble everything

#

Not super sure how I'll do that yet

honest tinsel
#

Check the repo for GameNight - there's a guide on how to use data sets

#

Only thing is I used Photoshop to do that

#

Not sure if there's a free program for it

mossy stag
#

I'll see if there's an equivalent function for Gimp

#

I know it can do batch stuff, just haven't messed with it whatsoever

#

I'll document the important bits if I find a way and can send them over

honest tinsel
#

If anything you can send me the files/datasets and I can do them

mossy stag
#

Tbh I've been wanting to mess with batch stuff in gimp anyways and I dunno if and how many revision/manual adjustment any of this needs

#

Thanks for the offer tho

honest tinsel
#

This is the Photoshop way of doing it- if just to compare to gimp

#

I basically have a Google sheets document with card names and local image file paths

#

And the program fits the image to replace a layer with a matching ID to the header of the column

#

Also replaces text to a text layer

#

If gimp can't make use of csv (excel/sheets) then you'll be forced to hand place everything

#

The other nice feature of PS is the images are file linked - so if I realize I wanted 1 element of the card to be different I can just change the source file and the rest of the files generated update to match.

#

That second part is less important - as you could just rerun the process - but it's still nice. ๐Ÿ˜…

#

This looks promising

mossy stag
#

Cards are laid out and done, yippee

#

First of many

#

Ended up doing all of them in inkscape cause reasons but yeah, seem pretty great and still decently readable at small sizes

#

The most important aspects should still be okay, I reckon

honest tinsel
#

The cards can be larger sizes, and shrunk for the UI

#

That's how the hover over works for the other TCGs

mossy stag
#

I'll take a look at them then

honest tinsel
#

mossy stag
#

I might redo the category icons cause they clash somewhat with the otherwise rustic vibe but that's a can of worms I'm unsure I wanna open

#

I'll already have to credit hunt for the little outside and non-Public Domain stuff I used

honest tinsel
#

Category icon is the factory at the top right?

mossy stag
#

Yeah

any tips on the best way to log into a test server and try out the game night mods with friends playing for the first time?

honest tinsel
#

My test server is down atm, but setting up a MP server is fairly easy if you're using Steam.

The module is Base. If you have the Items viewer open you can sort them by GameBox or Deck. GamePiece isn't really recommended as you'll get a lot of stuff included in most boxes.

fleet hemlock
#

If I am getting" Item Base.Gamebox doesn't exist. "does that mean the mod isn't installed?

honest tinsel
#

No GameBox is the category, sorry

#

Forgot a few words

fleet hemlock
#

so it would be additem kreath Base.UNO 1 ?

honest tinsel
#

Do you have the admin role?

#

If you select the admin panel, there's something called itemViewer / item list. It's far easier to spawn stuff from there.

#

For uno cards it's Base.UnoCards

fleet hemlock
#

got the item list viewer but I dont see uno or mtg anywhere

honest tinsel
#

Is there a category for Deck?

fleet hemlock
#

no i dont think so

honest tinsel
#

Under display category

fleet hemlock
#

nope

honest tinsel
#

I would say go to the escape menu and confirm the mods are listed in the bottom right

fleet hemlock
#

[Not Found]

honest tinsel
#

If you're hosting from the main menu, you need to add the mods to both the mods section and workshop section

fleet hemlock
#

lol my bad

#

okay I checked and I have both already added and subscribed to in the workshop

honest tinsel
#

Not just subscribed

#

In the settings menu under Host

#

You'll find two separate tabs, Mods and Workshop

#

You'll have to make sure the game night mod is active in workshop, and GameNight and Uno are in mods

fleet hemlock
honest tinsel
#

The original mod we made got struck off the workshop ๐Ÿ˜…

#

So we made our own with "black Jack (o' lantern) and "hooked curse".

valid bay
#

hi, i just have a question about this mod, i installed the mod but how can i use?

honest tinsel

honest tinsel
valid bay
#

Yeah, I dont know how to use it ๐Ÿฅฒ should I have to play in some table or something?

honest tinsel
#

They need to be placed down on a table or floor

#

Then you right click the table or floor to play

cedar ridge
#

I have a crazy question, is there a way to make a dependency outside the game? Like require another game to be owned even if it doesn't really use files from it

unkempt sphinx
#

has anyone actually played a game of dnd/cyberpunk using the game night mod?

honest tinsel
#

Most people play checkers, chess, etc

violet fable
#

I tried to play Monopoly once and my friends kept touching all the pieces on the board

#

So I slaughtered all of them.

honest tinsel
#

That's part of the game tbh

terse jetty
#

Hey, I cant seem to be able to get this working on 42.13.1. i have the D&D Game box for example, place it on the ground or a table, but right-clicking it doesnt give me a play action

honest tinsel
#

It's not been updated to B42.13 and the context failing is an old bug too

terse jetty
#

Ooh, i see. was pulling my hair out yesterday wondering why it wouldnt work xP can a update be expected soon(ish) or are you waiting for 42 to become stable first?

honest tinsel
#

Game night I imagine would require more work to be done to it than my other mods

terse jetty
#

thats fair. thx for the help! :)
