#Getting used to test

Some other matches I'm seriously not great and im not good at the interactions. Between me and the sin.
All i was given by the sin was "you need to optimise your interactions" with zero direction as to how
Alright so from what I’ve seen, I’m seeing either a bit of lack of matchup knowledge or just a bit of flubs. That’s all fine tho, there’s easy ways to improve this.
You respected it later on, but just so you know, Sin’s 6K is plus on block. Also a low and good combo starter. You mashed on it several times, but fundamentally there wasn’t any need to take immediate action. Since sin isn’t strong doing mixups, he does a lot of options that are there to overwhelm you. Also, you don’t need to mash on beak driver either since it’s not that rewarding for him if you block it and he has to spend resources to keep himself safe.
You did a lot of 6p’s but you didn’t really have a reason to. Might be a habit of yours you have to break since 6p has a lot of total duration and can get you whiff punished easily
Its a major habit, though ive also been unconfident againat most people on oce because whatever i do tends to end in a one sided stomp alot
Let’s not dwell on that. Let’s start somewhere you can immediately get better results in. Like round start
There are 8 other matches. And the guy i was going against admitted he was reading exactly what I was doing, I was trying to get him to wiff
To no avail obviously
Then this is where we have to rotate our options
If someone is playing aggressive, what do you do to counter it?
Typically try and fd or backdashing
Nope, that’ll corner you in the long run. And it’s giving up your space for free without need
You need to hold your ground
Switch to playing preemptive
What are the options for gio to do that
I find people tend to counter when I do any of the 3 options
Well it’s not about the moves themselves, it’s the threat of them
If you start checking approaches that makes people hesitant to approach you
Which gives you time to then approach them
Which you should do, as Gio is still a rushdown character in the first place
Yeah
You have to overwhelm the mental stack of the person by constantly rotating the ideas you’re repsenting
Im also having trouble breaking defence just in general even if I grab i cant seem to follow up and if I flip kick im grabbed and countered
Had more then a few people clash my air super as well
Now offense is a totally different pillar to improve on that neutral. But it still has the same idea as the neutral, which is overwhelming the opponent. Gio strike throw is really good but you need to know how to make people respond in ways that let you hit them
