Got my first Spearhead game in

Won 16 to 10

Hit the "Fuck it, turn one charge!" Twice with my knights and chariot

One shot some Rat Ogres with the Knights, the chariot got shredded

Fell back with the Knights, hit the perfect screen on my home objective against a deep striking squad of clan rats

The knights got taken down to one model, one wound by my opponent's claw lord on gnaw beast

My chaos lord gets double charged by the clan rats, endures 3 whole turns of melee on the center objective before my warriors charged in to clean them up

Ultimately the last knight died trying to kill the enemy sorcerer

But I had a blast

So before I post these don't look super great in the picture but w/e and I'm still not great and experimenting. This first picture is wet blending. Absolute paint in the ass to learn and I would only recommend it for special models and cloth that's pretty flat, capes and banners type of deal

The next 2 is was more subtle but the time needed for it is nearly nothing. One I wanted a more faded and worn texture and so the paint isn't as thin. The other the paints much more thin and just adds the cloth texture and slight highlight

And the secret is make up sponge

The sponge is super pores so you thin the paint to give a desired effect, dab the extra water off it then just start poking your model.

People are still salty because of Old World and the first edition was very meh

Yeah, but as cool as the Old World was, imo, AoS mogs it in a thousand different ways

And I don't get how more people think the Old World was cooler

note these are what I have been able to gather; I do not agreee with all these points, but you asked, so I'm providing you the info I've found over time

• legacy
• easier to picture where things are because there's a concrete map and it's, let's call it "familiar"
• smaller scale overall makes things feel more impactful individually in old world
• writing on the whole is EXTREMELY different from 40k, where AoS is seen as an attempt to strike a middle ground and, possibly even, serve as a way to siphon the handful of fantasy players over to 40k so they can kill it once and for all
• I don't want the army that's like mine, I want the army that IS mine
• No kislev? No cathay? Never a book for them even though we're told one exists for Cathay internally and they just never bothered to release it? Big cover art factions for the video game but if you don't play total warhammer you can fuck yourself if you want anything of them?
• Gottrek and Felix are not BOTH there
• Permanent bitterness over End Times, and the fact that AoS is not Brand New Thing it's Sequel To End Times
• MMYYYYY favorite special lore boy isn't here but the one I don't like is!
• Very few "new" factions that aren't Retooled X From Fantasy
• Eyerolling over name changes for copyright reasons
• General dissatisfaction with GW business practices bleeding into everything else
• they killed the thing I liked and then tried to replace it with a thing I don't like, fuck 'em and fuck it
• Not as much lore material available (which is especially unfair because fantasy had decades of 'backlog')

grand alliance death is vampire counts but we split them into several armies instead of one and also the only noteworthy vampire still around from old world is the one everyone hates

Fantasy even has a way higher rate of winners overall for me than 40k by a lot

oh my god the build of the destrier is beautiful, the shoulders and hips are ball and socket joints, all toes are pose-able, a two-piece opening hatch, there's left and right side gun magazine options, the spear even has opened or closed clamps and panels for different positions

I know this is probably pretty niche, but I'm very happy to see considerations for non-rigid posing in the new defiler kit. I have high hopes for similar things in the knight destrier, since there were also some improvements with the loose cerastus ankle piston

middle one is the best one but all 3 can be easily fixed depending how much effort you want to put in. the 2 side ones are just a little too dark so you could use them if you wanted to spend time going a couple tones higher to highlight. the middle one looks fine if you want grim dark, they look dirty which fits the model. if you dont want that look you could do the same with highlighting. the one on the left though actually looks like pretty good burnt skin. id keep that recipe if you ever wanted that effect on a limb or not, i think it could be cool

When you wanna watch the first live demo game for 11th edition but don't want to watch 3 hours of warhammer

Don't like the new rules for detachments for my army

I was hoping it would work better

I was hoping the way it would work would be I pick a main detachment and then I can select stratagems from another detachment. That why with my army that only has detachments that just want certain models I can have more fun army

But it sounds like all the 10th Ed detachments cost 2 points and the new detachments which is just 1 army rule and like 1 or 2 stratagems and 1 enhancement costs 1 point and for 2k points you can use up to 3 points

With the new deatchments shown and the restrictions on them I'm still forced to play the same detachment ive been playing and out of the 3 new detachments 1 is useless, 1 I can't use so I'm forced to use the one that buffs certain characters

And of the 4 characters I only use 2 and 1 of each.. though I suppose I could use more sabos if it ends up being worth

ill be really hype if they actually make fun campaigns and i can get myself in one. cuz this does sound fun

For this one, I did Vallejo Tan, then Gulliman Flesh, then Tan, and then various mixes of Tan and Red Beige iirc

The dark skin was my first and best and that was cause I followed Vallejo recipe step by step xD
