Range, range is important. I'm not punishing what feels like a lot of moves with 1-2 unless it's a jab or their own. Back 2 is 9 frames start up, I haven't seen many moves that are they negative that get used by Luna or Snake

You don't know if I'm gonna end my strings or not
And if I do, if I'm gonna use a special or not

Ofc, habit comes into play
As Shao I tend to drop the axe after almost every string
Because it's safe and he's SIGNIFICANTLY better without the axe
But like, as you play someone, you should pay attention to their habits and when they like doing certain stuff
I know after which strings you like to either backdash or D1
So I try to punish the backdash with whatever move I have for each character
And if you D1, I eat it. It's not the end of the world, just block a bit more and try to guess again

People say his shenanigans stop working on high level, since he is basically a living 50/50, but you die if you guess wrong and will never do MUCH dmg without god execution on the smoke cancels or Scorp kameo

Imo, Reptile is now the best ninja
He has good tools, everything you need tbh, and even tho his frame data is a bit bad, it's not horrible
His dmg is now good even without Combo Extender Kameos, so he can have ones that help him on neutral

You had whole ass unblockable mix-ups because it involves a forward grab, great zoning, great whiff punishes, pretty good jump ins, jumping on wakeup, ducking, and combos. I don't have any of those skills in my opinion

I can combo, but it's rare to ever land it.

Good Liu VS Shao

He is a very good match for Shao but I've been testing Reptile with him as well
The TP is comboable, since it's faster than Lao's, and is the biggest reason to use him
The Foward Kameo button is good for high low mix ups, and training mode tells me it's +5 on block, which seems weird tbh, since Lao's hat is only +2 and feels much more plus
The Down Kameo, the three slow projectiles is good for setups basically. Out of Reptile's B313, it's completely safe and gives basically free pressure
Back Kameo is the walking projectile shield. Helps dealing with zoning. Shao needs it a lot, Reptile only uses it when actually trying to zone

Honestly...
He is very situational imo
Proving a good pick for Reptile, if only I had the execution to be consistent enough with his teleport combos. And helps Shao quite a lot with the anti zoning and TP combos as well

I should say the TP is buggy as hell
Sometimes gives you armor, sometimes not
I yolo smt and call him, and then he sometimes saves me and sometimes not
I've had moments where my opponent hit me while teleporting, and Motaro stopped his animation and went away, while Shao teleported without him anyway
I've had instances where I was his and was able to call him while being comboed, so he saved me mid combo
Specially juggles, he seems to save me from those
