My answer without reading the replies is, It's too different from other Fighting games. There are NRS tendencies you learn that don't translate well or at all to other fighting games.

A dedicated block button

mixups not coming from jumping but combo strings that have High/Low/Overhead options.

Significant recovery frames on whiffed moves.

Crouch pokes not giving full combos

No complex characters. No Zato's, Jack-O's, Chun Li, or any remotely difficult to learn characters

And last ill mention the pace. MK11 was slower and more neutral based and MKX was faster with more Tekken like combos. mk1 looks to be MK11 pacing but Kameos add the X combos

Any one who hasn't played MK but comes from Strive, KOF or other fighting games and thinks it plays exactly the same is in for a rude awakening

There were times when I just froze and did nothing for like 3s cuz my brain wouldn't understand what was going on

I love MK lore and the characters

I'll say that having 3 guests this early is a valid complaint, but honestly it's who NRS is at this point and that's likely not gonna change. They have access to chars that other devs just can't/won't get so they take a lot of opportunities to flex their budget and do unique things. Obv getting the rights to use these chars in MK isn't a simple at all, so I'm sure Ed has a million stories of chars he really wanted but just couldn't get

For homelander and Omni man, they're def not the same. Both just wear capes lol. I definitely see homelander being closer to a zoner type while Omni man will be more rush down oriented

The Boys and Invincible are pretty worth watching imo. If I had to design a KP1, takeda is prob the only char that would still be in it since I like him. Still, it's just something so cool about these chars in a fighting game to me. NRS has actually been going a great job with gameplay in this game so I'm looking forward to what they can do for them

You know how Anji's gimmick is Fujin? Well, with the right abilities, Kitana can gain access to both an overhead and a low special moves, which would make every blockstring a 50/50. She can also set up plus frames similar to Shin and can easily bypass zoning with multiple options.
As for Anji's autoguard, there is no mechanic like that in MK11. Closest thing you can have is Jade's antiprojectile glow, but that's it.

Liu would be most similar to Ky, since they are both shoto-esque. However, if you wanna Stun Dipper around in MK11, you know who's the right man for that 🧊

It’s definitely an improvement but it’s also easier to punish it seems and his low starter isn’t nearly as oppressive as it was in 11

His back 3 string is one of the best strings in the game and combine that with the best overhead in the game it’s stupid

It will also be mitigated by everyone else having overheads and mix so he won’t be the only one. Kenshi has full screen overheads

I was also just thinking, if they add dash block back then Johnny’s new dash move will be completely useless

From a non game play point, he was a badass in the comics but a jobber in the games. But he got the biggest dub ever in Jade
