PGR was a game with from a humble studio with a slow start in its story but it gradually becomes much better after a while, with an ironically pretty generous gacha system

and then came WuWa and everything that made PGR good was now out of the window

You'll also want to get Amiya to E2 to get her S3, since it's a good source of True Damage which is good for certain bosses

The rest, you can just level as and when you want to

I know the community calls the banners with limited units limited but what do they call the ones where units do get added into the standard pool?

There's a bunch of different names for each of the different banner types, though they're mostly just different types of standard banners

For example, there's Featured Banners that only have a single new characters on them

Or things like Orienteering Banners that limit the pool of characters you can get, giving you a better chance of getting who you want

and the most reliable way to get a limited is to hope it gets picked as the off rate right?

I don't think you can buy them from the shop?

For past limited characters, you either hope that they appear as an off-banner (which the more recent ones have 5x the weighting of other off-banners for) or buy them from that limited banner's Data Contract store

You get 1 Data Contract for each pull on any given limited banner, and it takes either 200 or 300 to get previous limited characters

The cost depends on how old the limited character is, with older ones being cheaper
