A big difference I want to point out between Firefly and Castorice is how available their BiS supports are
The only true limited character on Firefly's team is Ruan Mei, who you can get for free nowadays
As far as I know, HMC is better than Fugue for Firefly due to the overall higher Superbreak multipliers and Fugue's gimmick not really being that beneficial to Firefly
Lastly, while you can use Lingsha in the sustain spot, Gallagher was usually more than enough to sustain your team and Lingsha was just an optional premium alternative
Compared to Castorice, who has a full team of limited 5 star supports, Firefly's a lot more accessible of a team since all you need to replace in F2P comps is Ruan Mei

I've tried running FF/RM/Fugue, and the issue with that team is that RM can cause enemies to not recover their toughness bar. RM delays how often FF can break toughness, missing out on break damage.
and Fugues superbreak is minimal, especially compared to HMC

They didn't want to make him ice bc of his counter
If he breaks an enemy with ice, the counter would then be useless since he only gets stacks when they take action

From what I've seen in the overworld, it's not too bad
It does have a phase where you just need to focus on dodging though, since it just shoots a bunch of beams at you that hurt like hell
But as long as you have a team that focuses on reactions, and change your rotation so that it doesn't get infused with the wrong element, you should be fine
eg. If you use a Mavuika Melt team, then on-field Citlali while it's charging it's gauge
This way it becomes infused with Cryo, so Mavuika can still Melt and deal big damage

So you can actually make it work in your favour if you know what you're doing
