depends on what role/element you need

Diluc - good pyro dps that likes to spam ultimate to get pyro infusion. Goes particularly well with melt teams, is a main DPS.

Jean - Healer and sub-dps. Their normal attacks restore healing on hit, and their ultimate is an AoE with big burst healing and passive regen. Also good for generating wind energy for main wind dps.

QiqI - pure cryo healer, can become a sub-dps with the healing > burst damage artifact set. doesn't apply cryo very well.

Keqinq - good electro DPS, also gets electro infusion (but from their skill). Their ultimate buffs crit rate. Good on electro-dendro teams.

Tighnari - sub-dendro dps, likes to use skill, fire enhanced charge shots, then swap out so another character can make use of dendro reactions. Can be built for main dps depending on team comp.

Mona - sub DPS that can distract foes with skill, and their ultimate inflicts a big debuff (along with a high damage modifer of its own). Goes well with single-target/burst dps.

Since you're pretty early on, I'd overall recommend Jean since she's a really solid team-wide healer that can fit into pretty much any team due to her being Anemo.

In terms of DPS, Tighnari is undoubtedly the best of them as he deals good damage and is easy to build, while also being F2P friendly. Keqing is just as good as Tighnari and also very F2P friendly, though she's a little harder to build. Diluc is fine, but he takes a lot more to make work as well as the other two.

Support-wise, Mona is solid but a bit clunky and easily replicable with limited units like Yelan or Furina. Dehya's a weird one, as she's super versitile and she does have niche use-cases but she's almost never best-in-class for anything; Her best use is as a form of off-field Pyro Application if you don't like using Xiangling or if you want a form of sustain to come with it.

And finally, Qiqi...Don't get Qiqi unless you like her character. She does a lot of healing, so much that it's overkill, and everything else about her isn't good at all. The worst part about her are her absurd cooldowns and complete lack of energy generation.
