a lot of things like that have been using ai as a tool for a while, its not necessarily a bad thing depending on how its used
AI is the new autotune I feel like
it'll probably just look bad if they do overuse it
most people are eventually going to let go of flaming companies for using AI to slightly speed up some of animation process
hopefully yeah
its annoying that stuff like generative ai and chatgpt gave ai such a bad name tho
when they dont even really count
it is used badly in a lot of situations but its not always bad like the other stuff
AI as a term is a bit broad as of now
like so many companies say they're integrating AI into their own work and if you dig deeper its some algorithm they've been using since 2017
its mostly just a term to draw in investors that are tech illiterate
me when I learn that Miyazaki used AI in the making of soldier of Godrick fight
(he has an AI)
peak
Depending on how this strive patch is I might be nighting my reigns
Unga
Squad up with me tonight unga
I can't I have to go go to a thing tonight 😭
Sometimes this week we need to kill mfers
Tricephalos Everdark is peak
agree
My only issue is that it apparantly only has 1 seed
It appears night reign is peak
I will say, ||I think the damage feels just a bit on the absurd side even without the buffs. Also hitting him during his self buffing walk should have a bigger visual indicator||
|| im getting one shot by him at full health by multiple moves... ||
|| playing executor mind you but i literally saw my guardian friend have it happen too lmao ||
Okay so after about 240 hours on nightreign I've come to the conclusion that I still love it, the gameplay loop is my favorite part, and the nightlord quality is generally very good, and everdark cycles have been fun. But, there's a lot to be improved here and with how big this game blew up I hope they do some of what I'm about to say.
There should be at least one more map, maybe two, based off Liurnia or Altus Plateau, and perhaps a Land of Shadow one if we're being hopeful. The current one is great but once you know the layout the novelty of it wears off.
There should be variety and tiers to camps, cathedrals, and forts that spawn in. Let's say you're wanting to hit a nearby fort, thinking it will be the easy abductor virgin or single knight inside. You get there and it's actually a fort more similar to the swampy one found in base game ER, complete with cleanrot knights. The reward of course should be bigger for these but it would also add even more unpredictability into runs and offer risk reward situations more often.
Speaking of unpredictability, there really isn't much of a good reason that certain events and bosses are tied to certain seeds. I say let Libra invade whenever the hell he wants, let the night hordes appear more often wherever, and let the night bosses be literally any of them.
More boss and enemy variety would also be great to have, there's still quite a few nightreign just doesn't have right now even only from the base game of ER, not counting shadow of the erdtree yet. A few more dark souls encounters would also be welcome, throw the Fume Knight and the Old Demon King in or something.
And as for weapon variety, please to God expand it with the SOTE weapons. And make at least one legendary per weapon class that's in there, example being that Guardian not having a single amazing halberd to look forward to is kinda ass (this can easily be solved by making a current one legendary and also putting in the budding halberd you get from Romina).
There's still a few more concerns but those are my biggest wishes.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention there's still some more crazy ideas to use for shifting earths. Farum Azula, Leyndell, Deeproot Depths, Shadow Keep, Ceruelean Coast...
heres hoping a lot of those things are in the dlc
nightreign imo needed like triple the bosses in the game (not including nightlords)
shit gets old so quick when every madness camp is the madness troll or lightning camps are just the leyndell knights
lightning camps are leyndell nights, ruins are beastmen
yeah
it sucks knowing exactly what to expect in every place
but there can easily be way more options there
also just
they could easily fit in dark souls enemies to these camps and areas too
imagine in the dlc you have a dragon incant themed character and they add dragon camps with the dragon guys from ds3
but uhhh
i feel like it has less of a lore reason
it makes sense the big bosses would be brought here by the nightlords to stop the nightfarers, why would they bring the smallfry too
just say it's their minions or say they leaked into limveld with those big bosses
I think it just needs to not have a boss list per nightlord. I ran ED gladius last night 4x and ran into morgott as night 2 everytime
that reminds me
i havent gotten a margit invasion literally since the playtest
never had it in the full game
i think
i saw dragonkin like every 2 runs for every everdark before libra it drove me insane
yeah i saw him a lot too
That's another thing, why are some of these events so goddamn rare? They should show up way more often than they do, and even doing that they'd still not happen much.
Probably because they're tied to the seed
Which is why they should stop restricting them to certain seeds
Yrue
i love the cerulean coast but it really has nothing going on for it
its the most under utilized area in the game
i fought dragonkin soldier 30 more times in NR than ive ever did in elden ring because they are one of the 3 bosses that spawn in night 2 for fulgor
I mean sure but I was thinking it could start there and then you go down and into the st trina area

As someone who hasn't played a lot of nightreign I think it'd be cool if higher end relics let you get alternate starting weapons, nothing above like a blue rarity but it'd be cool to have a way to ensure you get a certain weapon you like, especially if they let you pair it with the starting weapon skill swap relics
Idk relics in general seem like they have a lot of fun potential if they wanna expand on the system
tried out some of those evergaol buffs...
They're tasty
yeah it's with the seppuku buff on top of all that
where you self inflict bleed for the passive buff that executor has
You get like godlike relics or something?
how in the what
i dont got anything special for relics besides evergaol and the holy dmg for starting weapon ones (doing everdark gladius obv) but i also got a couple of 14% full hp dmg buffs on some of my weapons
it was kinda crazy
and iirc i got the flask restoration buff so i was mostly always at full hp
Rachadaan the goatmane vs midlania, bum of Miquelame
I fucking HATE those two character-wise they stinky in the lore
Been on a elden ring lore video kick cause of night reign (I should go back to playing normal ER top ngl) and I remembered how much they both SUCK
After a lot of testing, calculating, and editing (something Raider wouldn't usually do), I've analyzed the new attacking moveset used by Raider in Nightreign with side-by-side comparisons with old movesets and with other parts of itself. From lights to charged heavies to jump attacks to powerstancing. Which one's the greatest, really? Turns out ...
Til Raider has a unique moveset on beeg weapons lol
Every character besides Recluse and Ironeye have a unique moveset with their starter weapons
im pretty sure ironeye has a unique moveset
How viable is using smithing stones to upgrade the starting weapons?
it's very viable and good if you have a relic to add the damage type the nightlord is weak to
Very
Id like to try raider with quickstep on his starting weapon with the relics I got
If you find nothing better then smithing stones are great
I've gone plenty of runs with no good greatshields as Guardian so upgrading his starting one was a must
it's especially strong on executor because you can also put seppuku on your starting weapon to activate his passive ability for bonus damage
Triple Iron eye is fun ngl
Cheesy, but fun
I've yet to try out guardian and duchess, but everyone I've played as seems pretty fun.
Triple Raider is also cheesy
Constant boss stagger and nobody is taking significant damage
I never would have thought of that. Will definitely try it out though
Me n my pals
Ugga bugga
Ooga booga
Triple any char is cheesy
When everdark Libra came out I was running triple revenant and we were there for like 20-30 mins fighting for our lives
Just reviving over and over with the ult lol
recluse also has one kinda
she's got a special quick cast that you can do when you cast after some actions
kinda like how carian slicer and bestial sling work with rolls in elden ring
how good are you guys at following disjointed story telling like how fromsoft does it. no matter how hard i try i need to rely on the lore video channels
for Elden Ring I think just reading a decent amount of the item descriptions are good enough to figure out the gist

What are they implying?
Releasing it on 9/11?

"heolster, a nightfarer has hit the second sorcerers rise"
-Gladius, the goodest boi, prolly
It's crazy that we've been making these jokes and now they just go and do that
Man if only my parents also played night reign the update would be a good anniversary gift
2 Years before it happened lmao
Big yikes
Poor luck is genetic on my dads side methinks
elden ring felt more streamlined for the masses. the questlines making it easier to follow general lore. though the naming convention on the demi gods can heck right off
the naming conventions are funny idc
i could not follow it, even with lore videos i mixed up everyone with everyone
thats kinda on you
that everyone has pretty much the same name but the "I" is placed in a different spot?
well its on you for mixing them up
its not like a skill issue or something, its not necessarily fixable, but its just not really fromsoft's fault
while you arent wrong i dont think you are correct. i would argue having easy to understand names would be on the writers end
but they are easy to understand
the only ones that arent are because they're the same person
Rule #1 is never have two characters with the same name. So for elden ring, world famous writer grrm, made almost the same
Hes a bright man i say I say
what characters have almost the same names
godrick, godwyn, godefroy, godfrey, maliketh, marika, melina, malenia, miquella, millicent, to name a few
those arent really that similar
Rellana renalla
same first letter doesnt mean similar name
they're sisters
they have a reason to be really similar
No?
Not to mention
A lot of the names are 1-2 letters swapped
They're extremely similar
not really
godefroy is like the only one and hes not even important, just a repeat boss for a gaol
toliken got away with messed up names being extremely difficult to follow in the silmarillion, it shouldnt really be repeated in modern times lol
Mfw rellana and rennala, melina and malenia and aren't 1-2 letters off
well they arent
rellana and rennala are fair because they're siblings, though they are really close
and melina and malenia just arent that close in letters
close in sound, kinda, but not letters
yeah i said that one is really close but its fair cause they're sisters
its supposed to be really close
i dont think you know how letters work
bro these names are like nearly identical to the point that if i was reading a book with these names i would stop because they are so close i would have to read in a way where i hyper focus on the names taking me out of the immersion. most people when reading actually only read the first and last part of words and not the entire thing all the time. these names are fucked. and if you would take a pool of all elden ring players im sure the vast majority would say it would be much much much easier to follow if the names were different
Godefroy
Godfrey
poll not pool
My bad it is 3 letters because I spelled malenia properly instead of phonetically
you also spelled radahn wrong
So should I change my statement to they are 3 letters off?
What is this? They sound similar thats been a well established meme since the game came out
but radahn and radagon dont sound similar
im just done i cant argue with you guys
you both just do it for the fun of the game
i was thinking the same thing tbh
? They have the same starting syllables and they rhyme? They both end with the long n sound
did you not read my last messages
No i have you blocked, i have to manually read each one
elden ring had way harder to follow sidequests than most souls games lol
it's only ranni's quest that's easier because all the steps are repeatedly told to you by every character
I missed out on the ring my friend told me where to get it
yeah cause its an open world
i had to look up most of them actually
i didnt know a lot of quests existed until like, way after i had finished the game 6 times
exactly
the story isnt meant to be super accessible for wider audiences, it's something you have to actively look into and search for
same as the rest of the souls series
yeah and its peak
it encourages community interaction even just through how its story is presented
thats something i love about fromsoft games
they're very community oriented
jolly cooperation
it could be a numbers game cuz elden ring had just way more quests than previous fromsoft games and i can only speak for my experience. but pound for pound the quests i did was much easier to follow and understand where to go. most of the npcs just flatout tell you which direction to go to. compared to like bloodborne with the eye thing or the drip drip thing, demons souls where you have to find that knight perfectly, dark souls 1 getting to the painted world, or even getting to the DLC, iirc there was some weird specific stuff you needed to do with the onion knight in ds3. dont get me wrong elden ring has obscure specific stuff for quests too. but the point i was making was the elden ring quests did a lot more for story telling, world building, and character devlopment than any previous fromsoft game

@last wing
The older games, especially ds2 and 3 are pretty easy because it's not hard to explore everything
In elden ring there's so much bloat to the open world that searching for NPCs or entire areas can be tedious at times but in dark souls for example it's all relatively so much more linear
solaire is the easiest example by far
But seigmeyer more fits in line with how most quests go and his quest isn't that hard
He tells you where he's going too, just like ER quests
I think the only major difference is the older games would have quests that have you following the steps perfectly, then you pick up the wrong item or go too far one way and the NPC dies off-screen and locks you out of it
ER isn't as bad with that
you also have stuff like the egg head in ds1, crawling into the nest and emoting for 15 seconds or w/e it is, getting to manus, getting to that big lake thats hidden behind like 4 secret walls. ds2 was also messed up iirc getting into each dlc was a journey and a half. maybe there was a quest with the shinies in the nest. everyones journey is going to be different and different play styles but the quests i followed i think i completed them without guides. did i miss some and didnt even start, sure. but you arent going to convince me that fromsoft older games were easier when greirat and anri storylines are in the game when most of elden rings quests the npcs were just in obvious spots and or the quest giver says "my castle is over run by monsters. its over to the west" and sure as shit you go west and find the castle and another npc on the path for another quest
This will be me if I ever get around to playing birdman
I will be the asshole with the sword in my back pocket
I'm gonna have fried chicken legs for dinner
Greyrat mentioned
you can actually prove it
you can check the inventories of other people
Ah fuck
Guess I can't just cheese myself some funny beeg swords lmao
How does the proficiency thing even work tho
Like do they get damage buffs for using the right weapon class?
Or is it just a thing that affects their drops?
just affects drops im pretty sure
and its just boss drops
not chest drops or other stuff like that
Excellent I will be hoarding any and all beeg swords I find for myself k thx
i was playing trios yesterday and this wylder was using rivers of blood while i was on executor...
Whazzat
the best katana for executor... deals very high bleed, does fire damage (we were doing caligo too...)
Honestly might ball with guardian tbh because having more defense sounds goated
(I'm ass at landing raiders retaliate)
look sometimes
sometimes you just dont have anything good at all
and you need to take something one of your teammates might have wanted
this guy had like 4 katanas on him
okay he's a jerk
He picked the wrong class on the start screen
genuinely think he was petty because he was gonna play executor but switched to wylder when i was on him too
i think thats true yeah
like we both coulda played executor lol it's not a big deal
its not like recluse or smth where you guys actually trip eachother up
yeah theres some characters you dont want to double up as much
For Context I've literally only played raider and a smidge of Wylder lmao
either cause its better to have more variety in the team or because of a unique mechanic that is difficult to manage two of
its the unique mechanic in recluse's case
its also annoying sharing staffs when it feels like theres so few of them
yeah
but what self respecting revenant is gonna use seals
the guts greatsword is right there
it's funny they gave the item discovery buff to ironeye and not recluse
Recently I got a relic with HP restoration on colossal swords attacks and I feel like that genuinely affects the drop rates
Cause I actually gettem now
ironeye has buffed item discovery?
it's his passive but it mostly affects drops from enemies
item discovery just affects chest and enemy drops yeah
i dunno if it changes boss drops or it's uselessly for random enemies
but it is good if you can get a lot of it
nope not boss drops
but any loot spot becomes actually useful
The iron eye pulling the dark moon greatsword out of the ground like fucking Excalibur
yeah recluse could definitely use that more
if i was a recluse i'd hate getting that
magic is everywhere in her item pool, lightning is the element i want
a bolt of gransax would be ideal
even if it's not staffs or seals, getting pots with elemental damage types would make making the cocktails alot easier
Man Wylder is so fucken cool actually
I got a relic that gives you fire on your weapon post claw dash if you do the attack followup
It's simply peak I'm afraid
True
does anyone else feel like a Souls boomer at times
like you rarely think about anything past DS3
I was gonna say yes but in a different way
in what way exactly
for myself I sometimes think how old Souls games had better level design
There's that yeah
I'm talking specifically about DeS and DS1
where the whole experience was more tight and felt more complete for the most part
you can sort of include BB and DS3 as well but they are still a bit different imo
in ER most of your playtime feels like fluff
better fluff than 80% of the industry but still fluff by from standards
Yeah I felt like the open world stuff was neat for a first playthrough but on subsequent ones most of the traveling just felt like a slog. Actual legacy dungeons like Shadow Keep are great tho
also the odd thing about Souls games is that how a lot of people bring up its interconnectivity except only one game in the whole series is like that
you never have firelink shrine elevator moments in other games
you just teleport to your hub
ds1 felt like a lot of fluff to me too
except the fluff was boring bosses
and repetitive enemy encounters
ds3
not saying that game has no fluff but the bosses are actually good so the boring parts are punctuated with peak
and its more linear so you dont get lost
the world design in ds1 is cool, but i personally do not like going through it
i much rather teleporting everywhere
thats why i liked the second half of ds1 more than the first
I can understand bosses but I never thought that bosses were strong point of old Souls games
like it was never meant to be that way
the bosses got a slight bit more interesting, i could teleport, i had more fun of weapons
talking exclusively about bosses to gauge a games quality is a thing with modern souls game I feel like
they werent in ds1 cause the game sucks
also teleporting made the game so much worse
bosses are like 90% of the reason i like fromsoft games
everyone agrees that its the worst part man
even the DS1 haters and the defenders agree on it
except for me cause i had teleporting and smough's hammer
and that made it more fun than the other half
i think the latter half is the best part in all fromsoft games ngl
well
minus the last small part of elden ring
mountaintops isnt very fun or interesting imo
this makes a lot of sense when you say you started with DS3
well i basically started playing cause i thought the bosses looked cool
I would say Bloodborne was the game where people started to hype up bosses above level design
its a shame we never had a game like first half DS1
it was kinda miserable for me so im glad we didnt
i didnt have fun in the first half but it was a good experience for me to have i think
because there are very little high budget games where you have to actually need to have good sense of direction in a video game instead of the game just telling you
the problem is that those games are going extinct
i am fine with that
and they're making way for games where navigation is not a required skill
well I don't
zelda games are usually pretty good at this
botw and totk have the map and everything, but like more classic zelda games
i should do a playthrough without using the map in botw or totk
that would be fun
but anyways i guess the level design was not the part i didnt like about ds1
the encounter design is a better word for it
i just didnt like pretty much any enemy encounters
I'm mostly bitter because games like Morrowind actually immerses you to its world by forcing you to pay attention its world
the only enemies i liked fighting were silver and black knights
and those are kinda few and far between before and after anor londo
also I don't think you should say DS1 enemies are bad because they were better in DS3
i didnt say that
i think they're bad cause i didnt have fun with them
they werent very interesting, they used the same "enemy behind wall" trick a lot
or behind corner i mean
the point I'm getting that is that starting with DS3 had you set up some expectations for Souls games
i dont think ds3 has better enemy encounters though really
some of them are fun but its mostly kinda the same
i just like it more cause more weapons and better bosses, and more linearity
okay I'm just bewildered by your opinions dog
i will say i think i would like ds1 more if it was my first
i wish i hadnt spoiled myself on the games and instead played them all in order
all blind too
but yeah my order went ds3 > elden ring > ds3 (didnt do the dlc before elden ring) > ds1 > bloodborne i think?
i also started ds2 but i didnt get super far
i did enjoy it ngl
i just never got back into it for whatever reason
I was entertaining you for the DS1 bit because its old and some people don't like it but "DS3 is all the same" got me in
its not that ds3 is all the same with itself, its just similar to ds1 enemy encounters
i think its a pretty common opinion that its ds1 2
its just sometimes the souls formula gets a bit old
and i want something a bit different
I never heard this opinion ever before
thats like a pretty common reason for people to not like it
i still like it better but its just idk
i need to finish a lot of fromsoft challenge runs i was doing
i have a no-hit run of ds3, and a few different runs in elden ring
ive called ds3 my favorite for a long time but honestly i think it really is elden ring
after sote came out i switched it to specifically sote, not vanilla elden ring
but i think its been the full game all along, even before that
ive played the game too much and enjoyed it all the while for it to not be my favorite
And DS3 only exacerbated that after it gave us all the bosses it has in the latter 3/4ths of the game
And then its DLC
HUH?!
Bro is built different
Alright chat
I got back into ER proper
I can either go fight mogh or radaan, who's ass do I beat first, I'm about lvl 40
If this is your first playthrough I'd recommend Radahn
Bet I wanted his gear anyways
Mohg is meant to be fought with proper late game characters, though he's perfectly beatable in the early game with the right setup
I got both those masoleum thingies
I just got a go find radaan
Also farm smithing stone 3s ideally
Speaking of regular ER, I am in a run where I made a Penitent One from Blasphemous build
heck yeah
are you using leda's sword once you get it
that one looks a lot like the mea culpa
Probably, but right now I'm using the Marais sword
blasphemous blade works too but it doesnt direclt look like the mea culpa
theres a surprising amount of good blasphemous-esque weapons
I'm planning on getting that as well just for the pun
have you gotten the briar armor yet
the helmet from briar set looks a lot like the penitent ones helmet though does it not
go kill Mohg
he's a nice guy
won't hurt you
Oh it does but it wasn't tall enough for my tastes so I opted for the battle mage crown
I'm also wearing Alberich's boots to boost my thorn sorceries
To mimic the Blasphemous 2 weapons I decided to use the cranial vessel candlestick, the rivers of blood, and the ornamental straight swords.
thats fair
i honestly dont know about the weapons in either game besides the mea culpa
Rivers of blood is as close to the b2 sword as it's gonna get
It's a sick sword
Marais is the only sword in er that has the thorns around the hilt
But I'll probably get Leda's sword later as you said
I'm also building this for being summoned as well so I'm capping at level 120
Oh yeah, and I use mogh's incantation for the blood projectile he can throw
I'll share the build when I get almost all this shit
Almost there just a handful of things missing
Two incantations I'm missing, gonna grab the serpent's heads flail from the dlc, and then Leda's sword
I'm tryna think of some other things
Oh, shit, I should get the lightning spear incantation too
Okay so if I'm doing the math right I'm not gonna have enough dex to wield it by the time I'm done, so...
Unless...
oh thats unfortunate
Hold on, I do
If I relocate some points from arcane later on
Won't be able to wield marais anymore but that's fine
Oh I know, I love light greatswords
they really are the peakest
great katanas are really cool too
i think new weapon types was the thing the dlc was best at
Is there just a bell bearing hunter near every NPC near a site of grace?
near a lot of them yeah
warmaster's shack, abandoned merchant's shack, that one temple in liurnia i forgot the name of
I'm at da lieurnian turtle one
thats the temple
Also
Randomly found the fucken grafted greatsword
Vows
church of absolution
church of vows right
i forgot
because you can absolve there
From what
It's only four locations he invades, near three merchants and then near the goodest Catholic dog
Fucken love how this game will have high/dark fantasy vibes
Then suddenly
Turtle with bishop hat
Fromsoft games tend to do that
It's smth a lot of soulslikes will forget in their effort to chase the dark fantasy feel
They forget that there's still some whimsy in these fucked up worlds
Which bell bearers balls I gotta break to get his awesome ass sword
The real one
He's in a castle way up north in the altus plateau
Where dat
Heading up past Liurnia
Oh is that thru the lift?
Yep
You don't have to
you can also go through the ruin-strewn precipice to the left of the lift
you have to fight a boss and go through one of my least favorite areas but at least you dont have to find the dectus medallions
Also I got this whetstone thingy that apparently changes my weapons affinity, where do I do that?
I talked to the Smitty and he had nuthin
it just lets you change affinities to certain types of affinities every time you change the ash of war
Oh
Will I see that effect when I change it?
And if so is the bell bearer weak to either cold or magic
Not magic but you can frost him
cold is an ailment, not an element
cold stuff usually does magic damage
Excellent
Time to hydrodip my slab of iron
Cold works better if you have more stats in intelligence
yeah
Which I know your ass ain't got

Afaik not as much?
I don't think it does
okay thats what i thought
either not at all or not as much
i was pretty sure i heard that it was the only ailment that is boosted by a stat other than arcane
It's magic after all
Dude I swapped to cold and literally did it first try
frost is a pretty banger ailment
You don't have to have intelligence to inflict cold I'm just saying it's boosted by it
And I know you ain't been leveling that
did you know fire resets frostbite?
Imo it's the best
Ah
did you guys know fire resets frostbite?
Dude I'm keeping cold on my sword
fire resets frostbite just so you guys know
This shit bangs
Is this some kinda meme I'm too newbie to understand
It's a joke about Soulstubers
They're mandated to mention fire resets frostbite 7 times a video or some shit
Man I'm in the cave to go to altus the other way and I got so much freaking smitting stones 4 when I get past the last 3 upgrade my damage is gonna SKYROCKET
Maybe you should go back to Liurnia and look for 3s
Man
I'm waddling around the altus plateu
And I got jumped by a fucken lightsaber wielding dragon!
Oop found godfroy again
Got his ass
lansseax my beloved
well beloathed
i hate lanseaxx
they have an awful track record for enjoyable dragon fights
tthey were so close with fortisax
but she has no health and its annoying to fight
3 out of 21 is pretty bad, yeah
you counted? lol
I googled and guessed
midir, bayle, sinh (i havent fought him but ive heard of people that like him), kalameet (i like him), uhhhh thats about it
and kalameet is cursed by being in ds1
i just realized thats one good dragon for each game
thats kinda funny
if bloodborne had any dragons it would only have 1 good dragon fight too
Sihn is not good
and sekiro has divine dragon
placidusax is fun, bayle is the best theyve managed yet, caligo´s fun too.
divine dragon is a set piece
barely a boss fight
its the only dragon fight in the game
If the game only has one dragon fight then it has to be good
its bad
nah its really fun
I need 6 Smitty stone 3s to unchain my slab of iron
its very cinematic
well, as a set piece is great
Sure, but i mean "fun dragon fight" wich means im talking about it being a good boss
We got tier lists
You telling me Priscilla is a dragon?
im tell you Oceiros is
he´s not
He's a lanky quadraped
No
good
I made this in 5 seconds
was gonna have a seizure at the thought of midir being better than bayle
also priscilla is a dragon, not calling her one is like in the hp universe calling someone a mudblood
you wouldnt be racist would you
He was just earlier in the list
Fellas, is it racist to not call a humanoid lady a dragon?
nameless king i guess you can get away with calling not a dragon since the dragon is the first phase
the last guy has dragon in its name too
He is a statue
but its a forgettable boss so ill let it pass
Also
I cannot believe I put Seath in B
Was I smoking crack?
I gotta get it together
It might be wraps for me
also am i blind or did you not even include gaping dragon
He's in C
didnt want to say it, but...
thats loser talk
wah wah lord erbus the nutcracker fought the ancient dragons with lightning
i dont care
youd either make a shit lore content creator or one of the best
id spread missinformation poisoning the well for the next 20 years
Unequivocally the best
glad to know i have your support
Is falling star beast easier on foot or on horsie
foot
Foot
How deal with big tri thunder ground rock thingy?
The big third one always hits me
Only way I've avoided it was on the horse
I beat him
On my horse
pretty much every boss is easier on foot
cause horsie doesnt have iframes
and even if it is easier on horse, its usually more fun on foot
peak
I forgot to screenshot my talismans. Dragoncrest greatshield just for survivability, shard of alexander, magic scorpion charm, lord of blood's exultation
Just beat dragon tree sentinel and upgraded the shit outta my guts sword/now I can wield the grafted greatsword
Unfortunately I cannot have both equipped because if I do then I become over encumbered
Which is fine cause I'm abusing the fuck outta quickstep rn lol
Mostly so I can have good armor because quickstep don't care if I'm fat rolling it's independent of fat rolling
Ngl might go get Godfrey's armor set cause it looks cool and it a light armor set iirc
It appears Godfrey's set is actually ass apparently
armor rarely makes much of a difference tbh
the equip load is usually the biggest part
Wait, Godfrey's? How?
The Internet said it's bad
but how do you have access to it
Idk it's prolly better than what I got rn
thats the second to last boss in the game
Im in the capital
You ain't done lmao
theres still 3 areas before godfrey
Godfrey isn't after Morgott
I thought he was in the capital
After Morgott you leave and then come back to the capital later
Guh
You have to trigger certain events before Godfrey shows up
Like?
teeechnically
but its a different instance of the capital
Man what even is like the intended elden ring progression path
I feel like I'm either horribly under prepped or over prepped lmao
its kinda linear ngl
I mean ig from limgrave/stormveil to nerf academy is pretty straight foward
i mean
And from there they kinda want you going to altus(?)
the areas you go to are kinda linear
like if you just go directly from dungeon to dungeon
Yeah pretty much
but it feels a lot less linear because each place is an open world
But like that's completely ignoring like 60% of the map!
They put regular Caelid mobs as dungeon bosses in altus so clearly you're intended to go to caelid after
60% of the map is boring idc
ive done 8 playthroughs im not going through the boring parts again if i dont have to
...oh I'm gonna need all the great tunes aren't I
Or at least more then the 2 I've got
uhhh
Nah
They're not necessary
Wat
they're a fun goal to do but you dont need all of them
Killing two shardbearers was enough to unlock the capitol
to be clear im pretty sure you only need two to get into altus, and then after that you get all the great runes you need on the way to the next areas
But then what's the limiting factor after that
To stop me from bashing morgott then killing his dad
Ah fuck
You have to go to the snowfield area to the even further north and trigger two events
THEN Godfrey shows up
but between morgott and his dad theres two entire areas of the game, and 4 bosses iirc?
I sheeeeee
lemme think
Dammit
fire giant, godskin, maliketh, gideon
You have to kill him to progress that direction
yeah morgott is the limiting factor
pretty much everything after this point is very linear
Morgott that bum ass
Shut yo trap
you beat leyndell and unlock the next area, then you beat that boss and unlock the next area, then you beat that boss and unlock the next area
Put some respect on the omen's name
He bullied me at the bridge after like 10 minutes of booting up the game I'm still salty
2 HOURS
Man's is just doing his self precribed job
yeah i mean
I just remembered I should go get that talisman that buffs my rune gain
he cant let a foul tarnished become elden lord
ah good luck
thats a... "fun" cave
But that's in a tunnel with rot so I should also go get the wondrous physic thing that negates buildup
you dont need it
you shouldnt ever get rotted if you just go fast enough and use quickstep
Tf even is scarlet rot
Like I know what it is lore wise
What's the difference between it and say blood loss?
Rot is more like extra potent poison
thats it
not to be confused with deadly poison
deadly poison is in between the two
Ok so like turbo poison got it
Oh that's foul
Yeah to hell with that I'm gonna go grab the status resist physic lol
Where's a good place to grind pots in ER?
I wish to enroll in the firebomb academy
Man I made a shitton of progress in ER today lmao
Wat
do you not watch the backlogs
i just dont like lemon at all
Honestly it's great background noise
i was in the discord server for the channel and idk i just had a bad taste in my mouth from him
i dont even remember anymore honestly
its been a while
there was just something i didnt like
and i havent watched any of his videos since then
So it wasn't bad enough to stick distinctly in memory, but bad enough to dip got it
Idk Ill throw on his videos sometimes as background noise playing WF or Smth lol
its not like "oh he's a horrbile person btw you shouldnt watch him" but just "i personally was a bit put off by him"
Probably a case of "old guy doesn't get how the younguns' talk on da interwebs" syndrome
Horrible you say
Idk there's something to that that's kinda fun to watch/listen to
It's kinda the reason I like civvie doing boomshoot videos
Yoooooooo wtf I didn't know you watched civvie11 as well
Yeah it's peak cinema
Also a big fan of decino
never heard of civvie
or decino
Well you don't watch anything related to boomer shooters do you
Gotta love me some hyper over analysis of a game and it's code that's about 1.5x older than me
Though in the same breath I'm waiting for his Ultra nightmare enemies tier list for Doom the dark ages
well
sometimes
but not most of the time yeah
i watched a like 4 hour video on myhouse.wad
Oh shit

i call it beast mode
Ah it's executor
Aight so my plan for ER today is prolly:
-boot WF to get free daily stuff lmao
-boot ER
-Get crystal tear that increases status resistance
-get lots of fire pots/grease
-Go to cave with gold scarab
-get scarab
-grind runes in moghs place
Prolly gonna dump all my levels into endurance because fat rolling sucks and I wanna use the grafted GS without having to fat roll
Ok so I think I'm gonna get the bloodhound set so in order to do that I have to go to volcano manner and do things there
Wait no it's the raging wolf set I want
I will become John elden ring
raging wolf set so peak
Ok so prolly
Get gold scarab and gold scarab adjacent items
Go to manor
Get the set
Kill rykard while ime there prolly
Ok so it APPEARS
That in order to complete the volcano manor quest line (for takers cameo cause HP Regen on kill is yummers) I need access to the north area
The mountains
The mountains explicitly guarded by morgott
That area
Aint no way blud uses Grafted GS
Nah imma just grind more
What level is your character?
The new plan (I think)
-Get tear to offset statuses (for the scarlet rot)
-Go to cave with gold scarab
-Dew it and get thing
-go do volcano manor to get raging wolf set
-go back
-Kill morgott
-Do final quest line to get takers cameo and get access to rykard
-Kill rykard
Also intermittently grind at moghs palace when I'm close to a level up
70 Smth?
Ahhhhh ok
Also prolly make more fire pots to cheese clean rot knights
Cause I got a fight 2 of them jerks
Theyre not that bad tho
I wanna blow something up with Molotovs, imma blow Smth up with molotovs
So from what I can tell the pots are reusable? As in you use them, to make pots, then once you use said elemental pot the pot itself returns to your inventory?
Yep
So in essence all you use is the materials in the pot
Yep
Splendid I will find more pots and more mats for firebombs and go nuts
The only hard part abt getting different pots isnt the materials but finding the crafting recipes for making them
I already got the fire one and that's all imma need
Uh
All the stats that make me bonk things harder
So a strength build
I'm at like 40 STR, 23 vigor and 25 end rn iirc
I don't like investing in HP because that's points I'm not investing into killing people faster
It forces me to get gud
Unfortunately, ER is "vigor check the game"
Nah id win
#goldscarab #eldenring #eldenringgameplay
In elden ring farming is a large part of the game and in order to do this at a higher efficiency level you will need the gold scarab talisman. This talisman will increase your rune gain by 20% which is massive. This is easily the best talisman in the game for farming. The golden scarab rune talisman is...
Leaving this here for later
(Also to avoid his blood hex you're gonna need another tear in your physik)
Thats not covered by the status resist one?
Nope
Nuts
It's a specific one that's only purpose is to counter his spell
Fuck it if that's the case I might as well go grab his seal thing too from under the big city
Maybe get morgotts too
You mean their great runes?
Nah I mean like the thing that lets you stun em for a sec
Yeah I got a go find him
He's back in limgrave
It's barely anything, especially at your level
It's up above Agheel Lake, so it was intended for you to do it real early
Yeah before the first morgott
Yes
I wish I knew
Before I beat him the old fashioned way
I didn't even have my cool big slab of metal sword yet
Also
There's Mt Gelmir to do to the west of Altus when you want
No
Or is that the volcano manor
That's volcano manor yes
Cause I intended to go there for the raging wolf set
Right
I was gonna hit it after morgott tho cause apparently the third assassination I have to do is locked to the area post morgott
And I'd rather do all 3 back to back it possible
I don't think you need the third invasion done before Bernahl offers his iirc?
Mostly cause the talisman you get from the third seems nice
I could be wrong
Hmm
That way I also get a fast pass to rykard
Going through the volcano itself is usually faster
Prolly
But I want the stuff from the assassination quests
Fair
Okay but
You could still get to the site of grace right before him
I think
But like
I want the stuff
If I go the long way then I'm just going through more stuff cause I'm inevitably gonna have to do the assassination invasions
Yeah
But there's also stuff to get along the long way
So there's no reason not to do both
Maybe I'll work from the site of grace backwards thru the manor after I beat all the assassinations
Get all the shit
Then kill rykard
(You cannot)
Also what's the point of the church of vows even
Nuts
The site of grace right before rykard is a sealed off area you can only get to by teleporting
Like there's the lil statue there saying I can get absolved
Is it something you drop down into?
Nope
Either you get teleported there as a reward for doing all the assassinations, or you find the little teleporter gate at the end of the manor level
Nuts
So I have to do it legit
After I do a violence
After after I kill morgott
After after after I get stuff to get me more runes
If you find any Celestial Dew, you use it there to repair relationships with NPCs you may have fucked with
As long as you don't attack any of them though this shouldn't be an issue
Libra
Oh ok
Is there more to the weeping peninsula quest?
I ran through the castle, delivered the letter and got the big fuck off sword and came back to see the original lady dead soooo.....?
Yes there's more
Ballin
Did you find a woman named Hyetta right past exiting Stormveil castle after beating Godrick?
There should have been what was called a fingerprint grape to give her immediately before that
I dont think I did that
So whenever you want, go back and do that
Man this game has a lotta stuff in it to do
You don't have to but if you want to be clued into how to access an ending, then you gotta advance this quest
Oh right multiple endings
Honestly ER boils down to just a huge amount of what they were already doing in previous games
I know sure for shit I ain't doing rannis cause she a jerk who killed probably the one lawful good character in the setting
You should still advance that quest
It wasn't even like just killing him nah nah nah, he's a giant freakish zombie thing now
Ranni?
Yeah
There's good loot and several areas to access along the way since it's a long quest
Id prolly do it fully ngl if the moonlight GS wasn't a nerd weapon for nerds (34 int req)
Me when I fuckin get you
Why the cool sword that shoots freaking Lazer beams got a scale off intellect?!
That sword's fun as fuck and it's a fromsoft mainstay you put some respect on its name
It is cool!
And that's the problem!
I'm mad I can't use it
I mean
With the dlc coming up you'll have plenty more opportunity to level into stats that you usually don't
... If you have the dlc
I'm considering buying it
You should, it's better designed than base game imo
Map wise anyway
Also it has Messmer
If I beat the game can I go back into the world like other games (where it puts you right before the final boss encounter, with maybe stuff you get from said encounter) or am I locked into NG+ after that?
Hell maybe I'll do everything I want up until the final boss, then go do dlc
Then final boss
You can choose to go back to the roundtable hold or start ng+ after you beat the base final boss
My first playthrough I did not do that
I went into the dlc soon as I could and then juggled going back and forth making more progress in each
Man the fucken hodslayer GS is also cool but you need faith for it
The moonlight GS needs int
And the bell bearer needs arcane
WHY ARE THERE THREE NERD STATS ??!
Like what's the difference?
Int influences magic damage and negation
Arcane influences most status buildups and item discovery
And faith influences holy and lightning damage and negation
Honestly though? I'd say you should invest in faith. Strength/Faith is my favorite build in the game.
Really cool shit to use and swap between
You'll have the power of God and Miyazaki on your side
Do radaans swords scale off int?
Yes, he's a magic nerd
Or faith?
Dammit
Not my goat

I do got the ash of war that infuses your weapon with holy damage
His second pair of swords add faith scaling tho
Imma be real tho
Holy damage is kinda bad in late stage base game
Most enemies are strong against it
Like, back to back to back after Leyndell almost each boss is pretty much just a holy damage blocker
Dammit
Lightning damage is still on the table
Id need a lighting infuse ashofwar
And besides if you get the dlc it fixes the problem of investing in holy later, since there's way more that are weaker to it in there
Im hoping for a strength faith nightfarer in nightreign eventually, that'd be sick
Strength
Yes, fire scales with your strength stat
And in the dlc you can get Flame Art stuff that scales with faith
Pog
Fire scales with faith but I can't put it on mah beeg slab sword
So
It appears
I CAN get fire on my slab
Yeah I was about to say
But in order to do that I need to get a lil thingy from calid in the castle where you start the radahn fight
Added affinities scale according to the weapon
I have to explicitly not start the radahn fight, cause once I do I can't access it till I beat radahn
How do I even get to that castle
