such a fun combo system and the parry system is really strong but if you miss time it and are hit while recovering you take like double damage

Mohg is hard. I don’t have the ability to just git gud. So I’m taking my time to improve my weaponry and tools to beat him (like getting my hands on Mohg shackle) and then I’ll formulate a plan to take him down

Doesn’t help that he 2 shots me in phase 1 and 1 shots me in phase 2

Fighting games are hard, since you have to be able to pull off so many differen things and have a good understanding of what to do. Souls likes are punishing because you know how to dodge, know when to attack, it just comes down to execution

|| iirc one of the tricks i'd use is that Malenia would space out usually when she does waterfowl dance, and i remember one of the strats i'd use is staying somewhat far from her and throwing knives at her to bait out the move and run away so i could dodge it properly. I'd just do that when i felt like enough time has passed that she might do it again ||

idk if it still works or if that is what i did though, might be worth a try

Ashen Capital is probably added to my favorite game areas of all time. Not in terms of engagement. But moreso the feeling it evokes in me.

Leyndell felt like a livable city. The level design fused with that to create an amazing feeling of exploring a practical city that was left to fall after the shattering.

But the ashen city hits me with the same feeling Elysium does in XB2 and the Apartments do in Nier. This feeling of hopelessness. Mixed with nihlism. It’s a powerful feeling. Despite it being a generally safe area, it feels like you’re genuinely just wandering, lost.

Yeah, it's got similar scaling to I think Mountaintops

dragonbarrow is not caelid

its a different area that is harder to get to

you have to go through a lot of dragons

caelid has more of midgame scaling

You can literally get there in like 2 minutes from starting the game

mohg's palace pretty fast too

this game is incredibly open and this is just part of that
