you didnt lock on during that fight did you?
cuz if so you are a braver man that i am
First phase wasn't bad, it was the second
I couldn't see shit

as a rule of thumb i dont lock on any boss thats 3 times taller than i am
It didn’t cross my mind
thats been a thing since dark souls 1 for me
I tried to not lock on but I didn't like it
Literally the only souls boss I will not lock on for is nameless king first phase
I’ll take off lock sometimes for others, but storm king is actually impossible to fight with the lock on
Is that a challenge?
locking on and not locking on is really only a thing in bloodborne
since it changes the way you dodge
I will when I play it

I didn’t learn that until after I had already gotten the plat
And put like 200+ hours in
How do people prefer fighting the fire giant on horseback that seems awful
I mean I beat defiled amygdala locked on for most the fight, so 🤷♂️
Hit n run
Although I just despise fighting on torrent so that could just be me
It is awful, but doing it on foot is even worse
Cowards fr
Did you beat him with a bleed weapon?
/s
you guys seen any rando runs ?
Nope
Based
Bleed weapons are so broken in ER
I stay away from bleed weapons
even more broken than in DS1
seeing the fire giant in rennala phase 1 room is the funniest thing ever
Mostly because the cool ones don't use bleed
My first run I tried using only big str weapons
But then I got to Godskin duo and rage-reset
And went dex bleed build
That's what I'm going rn
Then went back and did a dual cgs build and beat the game again like that
Well, was? Commanders Standard isn't a big str weapon, just a str weapon.
Although I do use the big fire hammer ever once in a while
Yeah
Oh yeah
Nah I tried to beat fire giant for the first time with the Smough Lava Hammer
It woulda been more efficient to nibble on his ankles
Outside of the flip move on the great sword when I feel like being a devious little creature
Dual Ruin Colossal GS is where it’s at tbh
I thank God every day for me wanting to complete more shit before going to Farum Azula so I can prolong this fight
I haven't even gotten past Margit on my other runs
I just get bored and go back to my main one
Because strength is funnier
I'll continue my Griffith build eventually, though
One day
Str is so fun in ER
Real
Some fights really suck with it yeah
Or lacking range
Like the fire giant rolled away every time I got close
All the enemies fight like Bloodborne hunters
Later
I leveled up endurance like fuck just so I could spend most of the fight chasing my opponent 🥲

The fucking town to get to the halig tree is fucking stupid and I fucking hate it
Fuck this stupid fucking area
fuck the last 25% of the entire game tbh
literally mindnumbing
I am fully convinced that they didn't balance that area at all
all the black knives have SO much health and damage
not to mention the fucking archers
I actually refuse to do this fuck Mohg and Malenia
Mohg isn't there
You get to him via a different place in consecrated snowfield
Do you want tips for the town?
Sure
I only did it twice then hopped on Sea of Thieves so zero progress was made
Firstly you'll want to get the sentry torch, which reveals invisible enemies
Secondly, grab a bow/crossbow
Your first step should be drawing the aggro of the two archers nearest the spawn towards the east facing stairs behind the spawn
That way they won't bother you anymore
After that it's pretty much just avoiding the assassins and lighting towers
The trick is not fighting
Also the towers stay lit if you die
So you can get 2/4, die, and still have 2/4 lit
I legit just planned out a route I run for the town, it's made it much easier
100% agree
Also true
Literally the reason why ER isn't my favorite game yet, the endgame is so rushed it's unreal
i dont think its rushed, the areas are still cool and fun to explore
just they turned up the difficulty to absolute unfun levels
True fr fr. Tho it's not just the difficulty, the events happening in the game also suffer from it. You beat Morgott, then the old lady at the Hold is is like : "Bro you need Destined Death, you know, this vague thing that we teased at the start of the game and in an obscure sidequest than most players have missed" , "Wait what , Why would I need..." "STFU and just go grab it okay". Then 10 minutes later you have the most anticlimactic sacrifice ever, followed by a nonsensical warp to Farum. You get the two worst bosses in the game back to back (Fire Giant + GS duo). Beast Clergyman is there, but still in Caelid after you kill him, and I'm still waiting for a good reason behind that lol. Another pointless and unexplained warp, then Gideon betrays you... for some reason ??? His logic makes no sense at all : "You will never succeed in killing god, so I need to kill you first myself." ? Yeah flawless logic there Gideon. Then freaking Godfrey just shows up out of nowhere without any foreshadowing whatsoever. Then there's the weird and awkward Hoarah Loux "reveal"... Yeah who is this dude again ?
idk it just feels like they ran out of time and crammed everything together hastily, the rythm is awful
i have never been able to follow any lore in any souls games
so ill take your word for it. i just explore and kill boss
i followed bloodborne though !
I wanted to redo this theme as a thank you to all of you guys who have supported me after one whole year of doing these arrangements! ♥
My synthwave re-arrangement of Radagon's theme (1st phase of The Final Battle) from the Elden Ring original soundtrack.

so unno how much you guys know about from soft streamers but i thought it was funny that one of them called lil aggy knows he wont get views streaming totk and competing with the top streamers so hes playing an elden ring mod that gives weapon durability like in zelda and calling it his zelda playthrough
Personally I prefer Altus Plateau theme

He just like that cat fr

so there is a rumour
that next week state of play for sony they are going to reveal a sekiro anime
Wow
Heop
I think I follow that guy on TikTok

Pre-order Lords of the Fallen on PS5 https://store.playstation.com/en-us/concept/10002848/
A vast world awaits in all-new, dark fantasy action-RPG, Lords of the Fallen. As one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, embark on an epic quest to overthrow Adyr, the demon God.
...
does this count
No
are you sure though
this is lords of the fallen
not the lords of the fallen
so its much closer in design
Maybe so, but it's not made by From Software
think we are seeing bloodborne or armoured core 6 in 45 minutes?
what happun in 45 minutes
Oh, cool
Y'all be hoping for AC(6), meanwhile i'm thirsty for some AC(8) news
🤢
You say that like I should want AC6 news
of course
how could you understand it for AC and not AC
it makes perfect sense
It's so obvious
another year, another playstation showcase where we hope for Bloodborne
im watching a restream react
Saw someone say "Let's go Justin," in the chat
why do all these games so far look the same
Insane
Yeah
They aren't
My sister is really into those games, and that's one of their tamer jokes apparently
Splatoon with bubbles
Fr
2k23 gaming be like
MGS chonky bird edition
heres your ac8
Can't wait for it to be exactly the same as the previous ones
how do i respond to that
good question
Le fishe
I seen this dev before methinks
What the fuck is this, anime Monster Hunter?
Real
Damn, this trailer was pretty cool until the anime showed up
This actually looks like dogshit though
Real
what the fuck
Weird ass commercial
inb4 it's just a mirror's edge reskin
lol marathon was a bungie game before they got the halo IP
TIL
Same
Oh cool, new spider man
thats polite way of putting it
What else would you have me call it?
boring as heck
Eh, I thought there was some interesting stuff in there

idk i'm a Radagon's theme gigasimp
Same
Ludwig’s theme solos all
YEAHHHHH I BEAT ||OWL FATHER|| (spoilers for a secret sekiro boss that is very close to the end)
i wouldnt normally spoiler tag a game from like 4 years ago but sekiro is a great game to play blind
since this time, ive completely finished the playthrough, started another one, and ive beaten geni without dying yet in the second playthrough
btw this is my third and fourth playthrough actually

my first one was on a seperate save and i just did normal ending
this one i did shura, then return, and im gonna do purification on ng+2
also ive gotta get 4 more lapis so i can finish the prosthetics
and then i gotta farm levels for finishing the skill trees
theres a lot to do for 100%
Man am I glad every few games From realizes those types of achievements are shit and doesn't make them
i actually like them in sekiro
they arent too bad
the other games suck though
ds3 you gotta farm lots of covenants
They don't exist in Bloodborne and Elden Ring
so far the only one ive 100%'d is elden ring
Which is why they're the best ones ||/j||
but im kinda tentatively planning on doing it with all of them
ds3's my favorite soulsborne but idk do i really wanna get 100%
not nearly as satisfying
50 hours is not worth the achievement
I saw some poor soul saying the covenant where you kill the Silver Knights took them 80 hours, it's fucking terrible
im willing to get a friend and just kill them over and over again
for whatever covenant i need
its better than farming enemies
but i dont wanna do save editing
Alright then
Meanwhile I'm over here with 500hrs on ER and still no platinum, because i'm too fucking lazy to collect one last spell lmao
Is it the one in Godwyn's place?
Fair lmao
i'm so lazy about it I didn't even check lol
Eh, I'm sure you'll get it eventually lmao
that's what I thought a few hundred hours earlier

i mean i got almost 500 hours
kinda
418
got 100% at like 200 or something though
I hit it at like 100 something range
i got it in maybe like 1 hour after i decided to get it
before that i didnt really consider getting it
w
DS3 players when they get a katana from that one guy in the tutorial
Just riposte him off the cliff lmao

k real question
are you gonna pick up a finished save for the dlc
or start a new one and see what changed
I'm probably gonna start with a save I already have made
Imma use my main runs save
tfw when your main save is in ng+4 limbo
💀

I haven't finished the game yet
I just need to go to Farum Azula but I wanna fight Mohg and Malenia before that
dont give me hope
please
Noctem, that post's from a week ago
I know but stilll T_T
ztarg

why did you spent so much time on this crappy game
Me when a game is fun
and that's not even counting all the documentation I'm going through
remember when i said i'd find the story myself
I meant it
and besides it's not like I really wanna play anything else lol
miyazaki
miyazaki
i'm at my fucking limit
where's the dlc
come on
please
yknow what
fuck this, i don't need your dlc
...
wait i was joking
pls
bro is going through it
its in my cellar
Miyazaki said that he will force me to play Iron Keep for the rest of my life if I give it up
Fate worse then death
bloodborne pc port and armored core gameplay tomorrow right?
what happens tomorrow ?
i'm about to sniff dlc hopium again
YOOOOOOOOOOO
JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
AND NICOLAS CAGE
FUCK
womp womp
get ready for Yarnham Flight Simulator
We gonna be able to play together sometime Harissa
very cool hope you have fun
who knows maybe i could join too
darsus the inquisitor will have friends once again
We can swing big swords together
actually darsus enjoys swinging the severed claws of dragons
Greatspears my beloved
altho, I gotta say, Caestus have been really fun too
brawling it out with hoarah is so fun
darsus has a vyke cosplay with dual vyke war spears
Who the fuck is Darsus
but did darsus burn the whole world into chaos
darsus is my character
yes
Ah
nope i did that in a different save
she toast
same
I got at least 6 completed characters, and only like 2 incomplete ones
Kristoff my goat
Reject mimic
return to monke
and i'm using the great club with beast incantations so it fits perfectly

Counterpoint: this shit is funny
if it for le funny, then it is perfectly valid

i know not a fromsoft game but most likely to get the most discussion here. anyone checked out lies of p demo?
yea
i beat the first boss but not much else
pretty good, differentiates from fromsoft enough
the combat's a little hard to get used to for me though
yeah i played like 10 or 20 minutes and i was like this is pretty much my jam ill wait for a release to see what reviews say about the later game
ill eventually finish the demo
No fuckin way

Very nice
Have an Internet Outage. Speedrunning It RN
Cool
dude heck that speedrun
i put so much time into learning it
and i get cucked by the shadows of yharnam
I don't think they're doing an actual Speedrun, Compound
That Speedrun is pain though
it would be better on pc, setting up practice saves was so annoying
main reason i quit cuz having to reload a thumbdrive everytime sucked
i always cucked by Vicar hate her so much
after shadows, pretty much the game gets easier as hell
based
speedrun failed but still gonna beat this vicar somehow
came to close 3 times
no it's an old dark souls meme
how would i, say, obtain armored core 4A
Go to the Armored Core Discord, head to the 4th Gen chat, and hit the pins, there you'll find videos on how to setup the emulator for both 4 and FA
well im gonna have to join the armored core discord then
ill do that tomorrow probably
ok ok. I am now officially looking fwd to ac 6
i just started playing elden ring
lost 21k runes falling into a hole i couldn't see
went back to grab it, fell into the same hole again
Did you at least save the Runes?
ok i'm so used to games where my defensive options are instant like parry or dodge
there's an animation to this
which i'm not used to
any tips or is this just a "get good" type of deal
Jump has lower body invincibility, so you can use it dodge a good portion of AoEs
Yeah
Aside from that, it can be a good idea to try and walk around moves, rather than dodge through them to give you a better punish window
can you show me a clip of that happening
because i imagine it's hard to judge the range of their attack
to whiff punish
Yeah, lemme find an example
It doesn't work much anymore, compared to old DS
But side strafing is really really strong
This one's pretty advanced, but it showcases the idea https://youtu.be/bowObu6m_Lk
Super fun boss to no roll, also very challenging. Only no roll bosses that took me longer to get were max ng Cinder and Ivory, and - though this is likely recency-bias - I believe this to be more challenging than Ivory (definitely not harder than Cinder though). And only if you do it flawless (no hit). His hard-to-dodge attacks mostly do chip da...
I know that hole. We have all fell into that hole. Near Limgrave I take it?
You playing without shield? Who you fitin?
I don't think I've fallen in it
Sherlock, most people play without a shield
I usually play with shield early on until I get something I want to commit to...I don't like using weird weapons early on with no stats.
Though when I did commit, I committed to moonveil and MLGS like a very basic peasent.
I don't think I've ever equiped a shield outside of drip purposes
100% physical damage block shields is a pretty lazy defensive option that works for like most of the game.
If you mix it in with rolling.
It's a great "oh shit" option.
And even then, that's only if I'm not running a mixed build, which I've only done for one run
I unno, shields are pretty low commit and good value I feel.
That I can understand.
I either 2 hand a big weapon, or dual weild a catalyst and some other weapon
Yeah, that's the route I go down eventually. Big sword or some kind of dex caster.
Is that the one found in that boss room?
Yeah
I actually upgraded to max level in my first run just for lulz.
dude yes
And used it for a while..
I did a run with only that, and it was really fun
That is like one of its kind. There is no other drop like that in the game.
I have no clue which hole y'all are talking about
It is in limgrave, kinda near the area where there is a bunch of harpies iirc.
It looks like it shouldn't kill you. But it does.
Sherlock, there's like 5 places in Limgrave with a bunch of harpies
But only of them has a hole near it that will kill you.

It leads to the area where there is the coast and shit.
That doesn't help me if I don't know the hole
Yeah, I've never fallen in that one
It is the angle at which you approach that makes you fall into it. It is hard to see it from the rock above and you just assume there is ground below and before you know it "YOU DIED".
Are you even an elden ring player if you haven't fallen into that hole?

May wonders...
Yes
Which hole
See
I didn't fall down no dirty holes
Neither of you are true elden ring enjoyers?
That hole is a crucial part of the elden ring experience.
Nah
It foreshadows the ||Radagon is Marika reveal|| via the deceptive nature of the elden ring's terrain.
Miyazaki thought of everything.
Nothing is what it seems.
It's a shame you had that skill issue Sherlock, but I don't think it's that deep
honestly im not an elden lord enjoyer, i never finished. game sucks near the end and i couldnt be bothered
That's what we all thought when we jumped. But the hole was in fact quite deep.
I rest my case.

No one here but you and Lys have fallen in it, Sherlock
Dude, there is only like 3 of us here.
There's at least 5
They might have fallen into the hole and forgetten about it. Miyazaki moves in mysterious ways.

But yea, that hole is stupid.
But you have to ask yourself "Is that what Miyazaki wanted me to do?"
AC6 gonna be great.
Fr, can't wait to hear the next rendition of Fall/Memories
I am already loving the gameplay reveal so far.
Yeah
But I will avoid further gameplay footage if they release it.
Considering how deep AC games can get, they didn't really reveal anything
the only thing ill be looking up is how long the campaign is
if its like other acs ill wait for a sale
if its more than 15-20 hours i think i can justify the purchase
what does a blue vs red mean on attribute scaling?
blue is better scaling then what you currently have red is worse
iirc
so your current weapon should have E in str and C or better in dex
Oh
I see which hole you're talking about
I almost fell into it my first time

Good thing I have an habit of jumping from clifs for the lulz, it saved my skin that one time
sorry @willow valley but that makes 3 out of 5 people who know "The Hole"
It wasn't about knowing about it, it was about falling in it
aight then, 3 out of 5 people here fell or almost fell intoThe Hole
Also
I don't get why you wouldn't think any hole you can't see the bottom of would be a death pit
I remember when that first came out
@pure valley this is not a problem surely
rookie numbers, got it
nah nah
Definitely
My first playthrough definitely looked similar
I'm much faster now, but my first go definitely took it's time
I have not been playing elden ring enough
I can only handle 2 games at once and the one other than strive rn is Sunless Sea
i couldnt get into sunless
i have no idea what is considered main missions or side missions tbh
i'm just kinda running around and doing shit people tell me to do
yeah basically since theres not really a quest log or marker
but the little yellow trails will generally give you an idea of where to go
yeah not trynna rush it
There's this one part in early stormveil where an npc asks you why you're here
And the options are "say nothing" and "tell him you're here to kill godrick"
And i was like ah, so that's what im here for
Average fromsoft plot
I dunno, I felt like the goal of Elden Ring was pretty clear
kill shit and dont uninstall from tilt
bro how come the ambient noise in this game is just a racetrack
can i respec if i decide i wanna do magic instead?
Yeah
I knew i had to kill the big dudes to open a big door because it's a souls game
But i didn't know what i was doing in stormveil
Ah, okay
if i'm seeing cutscenes, i know i'm progressing
Being mentioned by name in the opening cutscene is the fromsoft equivalent of a death sentence. I basically treat it like the to-do list.
Yeah
what is retained during ng+, and what do I lose?
You get to keep all your weapons, armor, and levels, but you lose your great runes and map fragments
I think you also keep your sites of grace? I'm probably not remembering that correctly
does the progress i make in giving sellen scrolls stay? or do i need to grab the scrolls again and then give it to her?
or do i lose incantations?
/consumables?
You do lose NPC questline progress, and no you keep all that other stuff
Im 80 hours in and I still refuse to go to Farum Azula
(I still need to beat Mohg and Malenia)
(I've just been taking a break from the game so I don't get burnt out)
Armored Core
Dark Souls!
Going to be on vacation for 3 months so I won't be able to play this game
thats not a vacation, thats a temporary state of mind
3 months is a long ass vacation
i fucking suck at platforming in these kinda games
so divine tower of caelid is super nerve wracking
holy shit
every time the platforms break it's giving me a heart attack
damn why'd they have to do a full cutscene for me raising a bridge
that was so unexpected
So that way you can't die while the bridge is being raised
could've given me that courtsey any other time game
choosing beggar i suppose
i'll take what i can get
dude
cmon now
i need to see the telltale stats of what percentage picked what
it's gotta be above 90% at least
well considering i have no idea that it leads to the boss
With the single best OST track in the game
i am fueled by the desire to be held
Okay
Eyyy you found the best area
would there be anything stopping me or is it a bad idea to do full dex/arcane build this time with the stuff i have and then next run i commit to magic?
Actually, Dex/Arc is one of the strongest builds in the game, if you want to do it, give it a shot
Personally what I do is make a new character every time I want to try out a new build
Oh it's just cuz I notice the weapons I like have dex arc lol

Because committing to magic means I have to do quests and stuff that I don't need to right now because I don't need it for my build
And even if I did, I wouldn't have the stats to help it
There's only like, one spell I can think of that's directly linked to a quest
So I guess I'll just do it on new game plus
I also meant going around and finding out what spells I like from what vendors and from what locations
The oracle envoy moveset is adorable
Depending on where you are, you can also unlock respecing to try out stuff.
yep, got it a bit ago, but it's more the acquisition of items/incantations of the stuff i'm too lazy to do this playthrough
How far into the game are you?
i just got the frenzied flame from blind girl
love feeding her grapes
did not know this makes melina hate me 😦
she just threatened to kill my ass lol
wha
surely not, how could someone who gave me a horse be a bad person
or maybe
i'm the baddy

You'll be the baddy if you follow that path to completion
i was debating going with dung eater
honestly he seems like a swell lad
except for what he did to crab bro
that's pretty fucked

i think dungeaters ending is by far the coolest lore wise
does this game have a photo mode
Closest thing is telescope
wait i can get a better screenshot
it's so pretty
Fr
i wish there was some way i can crank up the graphics settings
i have everything on max and i feel like it could look a lot better
Turn down the brightness
the anti aliasing in this game is just not it
so it says that "Bell Bearings" do not transfer over to ng+
what if i already turned in the bell bearings into the lady
she still keeps the shops right
Nope
looks like that's the plan
...are you already done with the game?
fair
but yknow
at least i'm expecting to die a lot at bosses
but what's not fun
is getting skill issue'd at platforming sections
nakagiba, dung eater summon, bull goat's talisman, dragoncrest shield talisman, viridian amber medallion, claw talisman
@pure valley
lowkey dung eater summon kinda carrying my ass
we take those
what's the point of making new characters instead of just doing new game+? just faster "respeccing"?
ye pretty much. or if you want to start over with a new playstyle
Don't get grabbed
That's it
They deal too much damage and are invisible, so the best strat is just to plan a route that gets you in and out fast, along with avoiding the Black Knife Assassin's
yeah, im just glad progress saves
Same, it's such a small but nice thing
ok i found the strat is just to fucking book it and outheal lmao
Yeah
god i hate searching for the marker that i place in the map
wish there was a clear marker option
lol the albinaurics at mohgwyn that summon skeletons keep killing themselves with the skellies
No, you need a Crystal Tear
Alright
oh shit i do have it
Cool
it's pretty fucked up how millena has lifesteal
through shields too
holy shit that's the first boss that actually killed dung eater
Malenia?
how many hours have you played?
it feels like you just started
but you are hella far already
i don't think you understand how addicted i am
it's literally been wake up, play until 8AM the next day, sleep for 5 hours (i set an alarm), play again
i obviously eat and shit and shower but like
this has consumed me
nice
The through shields part is the real kicker
My least favorite part of fighting Malenia is when you get her health to 0 via reposte in phase 1 and she gains immortality
hows your fashion souls looking like though
i helped her out for this
are you kidding
thanks rya
i'd love to run something i'd like but uh white mask kinda fucks it
and i lowkey need it
Damn it's the calamity ring
the only bosses i've hated so far are the duo ones
i love that before he nukes me the music cuts out
godskin
triple crystallinans was annoying too
i wish i played the game with the broken builds before they got nerfed
cuz man
i hated my build by the time i quit the game
idk if it's just the build i'm running it but idk seems broken so far
character strength seems pretty high in this game
if you want it to be
It still does a shit ton
what with all the summons, incantations, jump attack/heavy attack stuff
Not to mention it chunks health bars
it went from 3 to 4 WA
p much, the summons are the games difficulty levels essentially
Did you see his cool laser attack?
the multiple yellow hyperbeams?
The firebreath into hyper intense lazer godzilla beams ya
final look at the map before i finish
damn ggs
Ok so like I'm not sure about the endings
But the one I went with was the perfect order one
Seems pretty happy to me
What's the catch
No catch really. Ranni is canonically the best ending and flame is the worst one. Everything else is various shades of middling.
How you beat the game in 3 days?

it's been like a week
started friday last week i think
100 hours
wait how long does it usually take
for first playthrus
Well, at least you can now uninstall in peace now.
nope
I always feel guilt about unfinished fromsoft games.
It took me 6 months to beat sekiro. I got to the final boss in like a month and just didnt touch for 5 months.
and i need to try different builds
i pretty much stuck with the same one for 100 hours
Rannis' quest is great.
yeah
I did like 5 different builds in a single playthrough
every time i died it was a skill issue, i never thought "i should grind more" or "my build sucks"
nah
i just did bloodflame blade
white mask, shard of alex, great jar arsenal, dragoncrest greatshield talisman
nagakiba with unsheathe
Ah. I don't think I even found that thing.
I ran a lot of weapons.
moonveil, wing of astel, bastard's stars, MLGS, death's poker and claymore.
wing of astel is a pretty neat weapon. Stayed relevant throughout the game.
since i didn't use a single spell that entire run i'm thinking i full send magic next run
And also the sword of night and falme.
helps lean into the ranni thing
Magic is pretty cool
Grayswon did a faith/int glass cannon.
Dex/Int is really strong.
But faith has some cool weapons.
dex seems to just be good all around
i still havnt finished elden ring
im at the end too
i got annoyed with the game design after fire giant
what did you not like about it?
it felt like the difficulty curve they stopped giving a shit about and just cranked that to a 21. i like a challenge but when stuff one combos you its not fun. i never thought double bosses was a good design and i didnt want to play using summons of any kind so when you get to the last bosses it felt like they balanced the difficulty with summons in mind and i felt cheated and ripped off. and theres a boss design that was in a couple bosses in dark souls 3 where the boss would have the same animation for the start up of 2 different attacks which required different responses from the player and i thought it was horrible boss design. they not only double down on that in elden ring but they put that in almost every single achievement boss fight
plus that town with the invisible hunter who you cant kill can suck my entire ass
i don't think that designing bosses with summons in mind is bad
it's in the game
you can choose to use it or not
if you don't want to make it as hard, just use it
if you don't, there's really no complaint
the startup thing is annoying
but the worst part are the double bosses holy shit
just the worst
the single bosses felt fair because i can place the entirety of my death on them
the others are just "you were stuck in the animation to respond to this boss, get hit with the other one"
and stuff one shotting you is fine imo, game is meant to be punishing, I don't mind my mistakes being severe and having to learn from it
because eventually I got there, and it felt super rewarding
knowing i can do this boss with ease when i used to die every single attack it threw at me
so for the summons i dont think they should have been considered for any difficulty. dark souls has always had player summons and they were fine none of the bosses felt like oh shit i gotta summon to make this doable. summons in elden ring should have just been a way for people who want a solo experience to have a companion. but when i have a theme of a play style i want to do i should be able to do it on a normal ass play through. it shouldnt be a challenge run to just play a normal ass build. so when i got to these boss fights that allow no room to breath, constant aggro, and still take a long ass time to do im just sitting there thinking "are the devs just forcing me to use a play style i really dont want to do?" and once i felt that i stopped having fun and just turned it off
they're def not forcing. Majority of this (I mean this in the most friendly terms) seems to be a skill issue. The reason I've been so addicted to this game is because of a sense of discovery and seeing what the game has to offer. along with mastery of an encounter/boss. So when I realize certain bosses were too easy with summons, I just alt f4'd and reloaded it and tried it without the summons, because it's a lot more fun that way. From what I gather, you don't like the difficulty of the bosses, which is fair, it might just not be your type of game. So you'll have to chose to play by what the developers intended you to do or limit your own runs like you said by actively not participating with an intended game mechanic to force a challenge that you say you don't like onto you.
yea it is a skill issue, but its just my opinion on why i didnt finish it and why i stopped liking it. the difficulty of the game was fine till melinia and god skin duo. most of everything felt pretty fair. but ill also say ive beaten every fromsoft game starting with demons souls on ps3 and some of them multiple times, even speedran bloodborne for a little bit. never had a real issue with any of them other than ds3 with the bugs i ran into on 2 bosses
oh i guess i never played ds3 dlc either
so i cant comment on those bosses
i could be wrong but didn't they say they wanted to make later bosses in this game especially difficult because they've seen a lot of people just destroy their previous bosses with like no gear, no dodging/shielding/jumping
uhh no idea but thats silly if they did. stuff like that is challenge runs and a regular player is never going to practice that. fuck the happy hob plays through every single fromsoft game without taking damage
so is elden ring the hardest souls game to you?
if you were to take the avg difficulty of everyboss, not including dungeon bosses and repeating bosses only counting once, i think bloodborne is harder. end game bosses, so the final lets say 3-5 main story bosses i think elden ring is leaps and bounds harder
and this is only assuming ng difficulty ive never done max difficulty souls game which is ng+7
lol thats on you, a life on copium isnt so bad if i do say so myself
will say though i do have hopes cuz with the fighting against microsoft for domination and releasing previous exclusive games on steam and them making good money from it, they would be stupid not to do it
unless theres some legal crap with fromsoft when they originally made it but who knows
It's basically the best stat in the gamw
I think bloodborne's dlc is harder than alot of souls content
Plus the chalice dungeons
Tho some made the game too easy
Me when infinite souls
Nah, Midir is cool
And you will literally always be able to beat fim first try after beating him the first time
If you count it, then the hardest souls game is easily sekiro
Yeah
@pure valley Fuck you mean 🧢
I legit haven't lost to Midir since I beat him the first time
Don't matter the NG level, don't matter the weapon, I got him down pat
