But grass crest shield can be obtained fairly early on if I remember right, and as long as you wear it on your back, you can two hand your main weapon and have a passive stamina recovery buff

I actually used it when I fought the abyss watchers in DS3, while I two handed a claymore

but grass crest stamina regen is too good to pass up for a lot of builds

First three arrows he shoots are guaranteed to be gravity, fourth is a gamble between from the sky and gravity, but if he does use the sky volley he'll follow it up with a couple scatter shots, after that you're close enough to engage in melee, he'll typically start it either with the attack he gets off his horse and does several vertical slashes, or with one slash atop the horse that will carry him a significant distance away from the player, after either one of these he'll typically go into his multi-slash combo. If you've been successfully punishing the windows in between these attacks, he'll activate his gravity mode, and typically immediately follow it up with the aoe that pulls anything around him towards him. Once again if you've been everything well so far, he'll immediately go into his meteor attack where you just get on your horse and chose a direction to run in, once he lands he immediately pulls the giant stones out of the ground, and then just does some phase 1 stuff which you can typically kill him before he gets to do anything actually unique to phase 2

maybe not completely related to the topic at hand but I remember hearing of people working in the game journalism saying that indie games "don't follow trends and make their own spin on genres/do different genres from AAA studios" is that because they are not interested in financial gain which is a terrible motivation to assign to small companies

its very much a common thing for new and smaller businesses to market them self to a specific audience instead of trying to compete with bigshots of the industries they are in

if you're lucky or just play your cards right you might make your previously niche genre/subgenre to relevance and make it another big thing adjacent to the other big thing
