Manifesting this to be wilds two
Another 7 years of Wilds
It's too soon
Announcing a whole objective upgrade to wilds when wilds is only now starting to turn it's image over would be diabolical
Shhhhhhhh
Wilds is at the end of its full blown TU cycle with gog
It's totally gonna happen
It didn't happen
Stories three demo today
So that's neat I guess
Next main direct
This one was pretty much just to remind people "hey these games exist" and are coming to switch/2
They didn't really announce anything new new anyways so its ah well
ya anunciaron las weas o a que hora es el direct ?
Next one
I forgot partner directs are less "here's new thing" and more "here's things that are coming to switch btw"
i need to play it
im pretty impressed so far
honestly
omg
it is alex lee
thats the male english va
the character creator is pretty good
I played stories 2 thought it was fun enough but I don't think I'll buy 3
Just not a big turn based RPG head
Verdad que esta el demo
YOOO MY GOAT ALEKS LE
i didnt even realize it was him
but i do love how the mc is like actually a character with his own personality and already concrete place within the world
I am
i hate a lot of turn based RPGs
stories is just such a good series that it goes past my hate
Stories 2 was fun because I pretty much could guess what every monsters attack type type was going to be during their normal state/enrage which was fun enough but I dont think the next game is gonna get that same appeal for me
the RPS is just one part of it
the skills and double attacks and kinship skills and part breaking and everything else adds so much
also mhst 3 supposedly doesnt run on my pc but it totally does
all of them have had it
its a main mechanic of the series
Huh
Double attacks were pretty much just using the same attack type as your monster right?
yea when either of you are in a head to head
its mostly just making sure you have the right monstie out
Right cause pretty much every monster has 2 attack types
So ideally you want the one that has a good my into what you're fighting
they have a chance to do all 3 i think, they just do their main one 90% of the time
they do their main attack type guaranteed if you switch into them
which iirc, was not true in stories 1
you could switch to a speed monstie only for it to do a power attack
I vaguely rember you could kinda order them to do a certain attack type in 2 but it was still rng
a little bit
theres a low chance that they'll do something different
its very likely they do their main type
I rember like thunder Lord being one of the harder fights cause he unironically could use all three types iirc
Cause he had normal, enrage, then charged
it is still good to have two of each type tho, you can switch to the other power monstie if your first one randomly does a technical attack
most monsters have all 3
but thunderlord was a harder fight true
he had great thunderbugs
you can get a baby gravios
It's funny cause baby nerscylla both lack the hide they carry around when they small
thats one thing im scared of in mhst3
But then they get it when you ride em
there probably wont be deviants
So they already have a prepubescent kill count lol
nah they get it when they're grown up
Is it just the demo?
they arent babies when you ride them
Weren't deviants post game additions anyway tho
They're babies+1
they were postgame but idk if they were with the basegame or not
They small
the demo is out rn
I rember they added deviants over time
not the full game yet
Like dreadking
thats just stylization
Don't care
Gotcha
Babeh
I want a babeh amatsu
5 weeks
Go my windy boi
Make all the rain
you can get a velkhana at least
kushala daora can do that
But velkhana cring
But kush is laaaaaaame
I like nergi tho
He's my favorite little barbarian bastard son
"go do a crime"
Ok so anyone wanna explain
||why does otulra START as land based thalassophobia triggerer 9000||
||HES A GIANT LAMPRAY EEL FREAK, WHY||
||its cause theres something really menacing about the giant worm being the baby version, and then the fully realized version being mostly a normal looking dragon||
||Probably meant to imitate the metamorphosis of butterflies and other insects||
I swear Japanese developers have a appreciation for eels or Smth
I can't prove it but I have my suspicions
Gotta love nergi being willing to run the ones with literally anything
Pretty sure he'd try to fist fight fatalis if he could
Iirc there are alot of myths in Japanese folklore about eels and their importance to... something idr
sex
or thats otters
The FUCK
Allegedly that's the idea
@night ledge @wide oyster whole replay of wilds content with the new giant update in half a year
Before the latest Monster Hunter Wilds update, a star anise on a random table was accidentally using a 2048x4096 texture. It was replaced by another much smaller 64x64 one recently as part of Capcom's performance fixes.

Are you trying to go for a messy look, less messy look, or a clean, neat look
a middle point
first one then imo
second one imo
Without the ponytail it doesn't look messy to me. between the ponytails the second one looks messier, and idk I just feel showing off more of the face makes sense here, unless you're gonna have face concealing armor on most of the time
I use it with the eye patch, headband, or scarf
And as for armor, I've permanently settled on the Odogaron armor.
also, 10* Tempereds and AT Arkveld are coming out soon
an expansion is also in development
Yo, very cool reference

Thanks to all hunters for your support! The team is currently hard at work on a large scale expansion to Monster Hunter Wilds. We look forward to sharing the first reveal of the expansion this Summer.
Ok that is metal as fuck
Who wants to bet that this armor set is gonna be wicked good cause it's the last armor set of base games roadmap
looks like highguard
Kinda looks like a more brown akantor
Dlc
We won't actually get his fight tho in g rank
Zzzzz
im sure itll be the master rank AT
Instead we'll get a fight that's like the non fucked up guardian form of him
Like xeno/safi
The most bum ass decision of all time to make him a one and done fight at the end of LR with no unique drops
Which was abysmal cause he literally makes up the 5% of the game story that's actually kinda interesting
I swear I'm tired of the endgame being just RNG for charms and jewelry
And it's not even from the cutscene, it's from the fact he rips fatalis moves
I don't know how many artillery charms I have accumulated that I'll never use because I don't play HCB
I mean tbf most MH endgames is random RNG grinding
The issue is the mainline team games tend to lean way more into "kill these 1-5 or so enemies a billion times for a good roll"
Whereas in portable team games you tend to have more vectors to grind for shit
Tbh I think the main thing that gives portable team a lot more flexibility is the fact those games use RNG talismans and not decorations, which not only are ultimately less important to builds in the post gen 5 skill system (especially in wilds cause in wilds you rely on weapon decos to get offensive skills) but also talismans lend themselves better to the melding recycle gimmick
You get more bang per buck per say on rolls because each roll you make is more valuable inherently (cause talismans have multiple skill points and it's easier to luck into a good talisman once then to luck into multiple good decos for a build)
This looks like horse shit
Not because I'm against hard fights, but I hate fighting several monsters at once
I saw a potential name for the Wilds Expansion and really liked it
"Sins of Wyveria"
It doesn't fit with Iceborne or Sunbreak
And sounds more like a Zelda game ngl
Buuuut
It does sound cool
The fucking cowards
Add dahaad
I believe he'll have his own quest
Can't cause its in wounded hollow
If it was a lil bigger they prolly could've gotten away with it
Woe the problems of designing a arena for a specific monster
Already? Yeah this is probably the first mh expansion I won't get tbh.
I think I'll redownload the game once they finish all the PC optimizations and try it again at some point but wilds really was
Yeah same. Going to try it again next year to get a better experience.
Assuming it'll be fixed by then
Like genuinely so much of my initial impressions are scuffed because the game ran as poorly as it did
Honestly my experience with gog was ruined due to a visual bug in oil well basin
Like every time it did an attack towards me, I would always get flash banged
I wish I was joking
I get that
Trying to get the game to run better by cranking down the graphics really hurts the game imo
Like it and world going for that more realistic style really sucks honestly
That's what I did. Not only does it run badly, but also looks worse than world.
I agree 100%
Because yeah it looks cool when it looks good but it leads to clarity issues imo
It's like twilight princess with the washed out browns and greens blending together
And that's BEFORE you crank everything down
Genuinely in the plains I sometimes have a hard time seeing the monster if it's Smth like a Steve or whatever
Not having visual clarity in any action game that requires you to dodge attacks or whatever is really bad
Like yeah the environments look cool, but if the environment is distracting to play in then it's a bad environmental design
Also another thing I feel like the game is just straight up inconsistent
Like sometimes you get knocked down and don't have iframes, or your getup feels randomly slower sometimes it's weird
I dunno what causes it cause it's the type of thing that I cant replicate easily
I don't think I've noticed that as much, but I get what you're saying
I think some attacks like don't fully knock you back on hit?
Like they're like getting staggered by a teammate but from the monster
Or something?
Or the offsets
I get that if you could just throw the monster back Everytime you landed a offset that'd be stupid strong, but at the same time having to guess on whether I need to roll after offsetting or if I can do a followup feels weird
I think that's understandable for some attacks, cause I remember narwa or ibushi having something similar where they knock you down and you needed a wire bug to not get hit again by a tail slam.
Frankly I'd rather the offsets have a less blatantly strong throw off in exchange for a more consistent smaller opening
Or at least let me consistently do the successful offset followup
Oh yeah, offsets definitely feel weird to me. Though Idk if that's just my skill issue or if they changed the timing
Right but that's in rise, which has a gimmick explicitly designed around countering the mechanic
And even then wire fall has its own risk cause you still can get hit from doing it
GSs Offset genuinely feels fucking amazing to hit don't get me wrong
I just hate how inconsistent it is
I feel that with HH offset
I think I've only landed it like 3 times, so I just use melody of life instead
Again, probably my skill issue
There's like 3 results from a gs offset
Big monster throwback, designated followup
Offset, no throwback, can either tcs or roll
Offset stagger, same as the previous but with extra delay before you can do anything (used on big moves like dahaad body slam)
Probably the best part of the GS offset is if you do it too early you can turn away from the monster and use the backwards/late hit of it to offset the thing behind you because that gives you more time to time it out
I fucken love you can do that, unironically some of the genuine biggest brain plays you can get in a MH game, and frankly if anything should be kept from this game for GS going forward it should be that cause HOLY SHIT
Also it's hype as fuck
But the fact that what I have to do after that is entirely up to chance feels bad
I'm not saying that MH should be a game where every fight against the same monster plays the exact same way
But whenever there's random variance added it throws off everything
Like imagine if teostra could randomly decide to either do his nuke anytime from 60 seconds to 90 seconds after he enrages
It'd be really annoying cause sometimes youd get punished for over extending, then sometimes if you play carefully he could wait longer to go boom
Or if valstrax could opt between doing the fast dive (hr) or the slower dive (Mr) off his ambush that'd be really annoying
Yeah that definitely feels wrong. Maybe the offset is set up where it only does those effects depending on the type of attack you're offsetting? (I don't play GS in wilds so I have no idea if that's the case or not)
I've offset the same attack and got different results so I think they treat it like a mount or a status
Where the first one is easy to get (guaranteed throw off)
But after that it's based on doing multiple
From there I think there's like a independent variable for if you get the heavy stagger or not
Yeah that sounds awful
So like uth dumbasses big belleh slam causes the stagger animation when you hit his hitbox
Like I understand that getting the first result over and over would be a bit too powerful, but surely there's a better way to handle it
(which guarantees you getting hit cause for some reason uth is the one monster to get a physical attack that just says nuh uh to a offset?)
Would talk more, but I gotta get ready for work
While dahaads big slam either throws him away OR if you dont get that then you get the stagger animation
Honestly if they just treated it like a counter and let you do the followup on any successful hit that'd help aton

Use only ONE art to convince people to follow you.
not enough to convince me to use twitter, but if i already used twitter, i would follow them
They're on bluesky to if you use that
i dont
For many (myself included) Monster Hunter would be something like, "Dark Souls before Dark Souls" (and in my opinion it does many things better than Dark Souls)
Ah

i hate arkvel, gore magala, 467 defense and they kill me in two hits
I have nothing to lose by asking.
Someone's going to try the Arkvel
im gonna try it later but its probably gonna be later later like 10 pm pst
you're about 5 hours ahead then
so i can play tomorrow too
or you can try with some other people here cause they'll be up when the update is out
wooo
that was fun
@topaz quartz if you're still on i can play
i got out of work like 30 minutes ago but i was just trying the fight rn
new gs
I just turned off my PC a few minutes ago, I'm already sleepy xd
mb
ping me tomorrow if you wanna play
@wide oyster
there is now like 4 viable options for gs
nvm
this is just way worse
its like 100 less base damage
@night ledge wanna do these 3 with me
who cares about the damage, its viable cause its so beautiful
best looking greatsword most likely
Damn they really just fucken putting any stat on a weapon now huh
That looks like a custom weapon back in the modded 4U days or some shit where you'd check what gear someone's running and it's like hella overtuned
Not even valstrax weapons get that much white
And usually those are a little under par for bas DMG to compensate
Actually what's like the endgame average for weapons raw again? It's been a while I forget last I remember it was around 210
Maybe I'll boot up wilds again and redownload it to see if it can actually run/and or get that thing
The mainline team really is in a power creep arms race with themselves
Yet we still lack a weapon that starts with innate green and has either bludgeoneer/minds eye on it with some slots to get the other one
Sure sometime today
JAJAJAJJAJAJA
Man that shatter sword sounds busted I gotta get it
The fact you basically get 2 hits on a full charge is nuts
Crit draw might be goated on it
210 base attack 😔
but yeah
depending on how good the skill is
it could be really good
Also 210 raw isnt bad for all the white sharpness it gets
tbh with GS you barely drop below white
Just stack some atk gems and you're good lmao
on the current meta GSs
pretty neat
What is the meta again? Bale set?
so glad focus 3 is on it
Monster Hunter Wilds Great Sword: Endgame Meta Sets Header by T3h Phish by Mathalos Nest Introduction This guide is based on the original GS guide by Jackscin & OP Ground Zero 2.0, which has been remade here for better accessibility. Thanks to everyone who worked on that guide. If you have an...
subject to change
based on what just dropped
I personally use 2p Bale 2p AT Nu 1p AT Rey
because I'm lazy
with the true shadowbringer
this is pretty straightforward to build and very good
no rng required
Right cause bale 2 gives you the beam yeah?
I need to kill omega
you need to kill him a lot
Fuck
2p bale beams with shatter sword
Fucken I don't wanna hear ANYTHING about portable team games being too anime ever again after this game
We got a GS shooting beams like the fucken moonlight GS and having explosions on charge swing
tbh even world was very anime
rocket GS
SAED
etc.
there were also collabs for a more obvious tie-in
Thing was those weren't even the first time we've had things like that lol
We had seltas weapons in 4U which literally did a guerren lagaaan
And saed
If anyone wants to go hunting, I'm available.
I just faced the new rey Dau, it was a tough fight but I beat him on the first try
burns from electric shocks included
sure
still more or less what im running
the sharpness is funny
i just have school rq
im still in school but you know
its online rn
Hows the armor
Absolutely cracked
Wexploit 5 with just the arms and head
Life steal starting at 2 pieces
His armor is also probably the best for DB
Getting lifesteal and healing popping wounds would be funny
Or any element heavy weapon
Elemental absorption?
I mean it's still kinda eh
But the way life steal works in Wilds synergizes really well with it
Instead of gaining HP back incrementally
You get it after certain damage thresholds
More damage dealt=more HP
And wound pops are huge damage
Also I misread its not Flayer
Its Foray
I can't fucking read
No it is Flayer
I might just be stupid
Oh yea and Blight Res is also pretty nifty ig
Overall decent slots too
Really I'm eyeing that GS
3-1 on the head
3-3 on the chest
1-1 on arms
2-2-1 on coil
3-3 on legs
The fucking explosion on Max charge for that is goofy
And I wanna see if you can stack it with the Bayle set bonus
Doubling up on explosions aoe on fucken GS sounds so dumb I need it
Unga, as someone who has been having trouble with Wilds technically-
What are your thoughts on the optimization patches
Problem is that means I gotta deal with omega
Just as a random thought
Haven't played since omega first dropped I'm prolly gonna find out soon lmao
Alright alright, another friend of mine has really been praising it so I wanted to hear a second opinion
Imma be Fr I hate Omega from the attempts I had
I get that
I just think his moveset in general is ass, and I'm not a fan of the MMO mechanic reliant fights
I mean his only real MMO mechanic is the DPS check
Prolly gonna be less bad when I get the big kablowey sword cause that means I don't have to be accurate to hit him
If he's gonna hit me with MMO AoE slop I'll pay him back in kind
And aggro ig
And the hyper focusing on one hunter
Well, I never really was troubled by that
Yeah not a fan of either of those tbh
Even if I always am the targeted one
That's fair
i wonder why john lance
It's mostly down to the moveset tho, the fact he can just fire off bullshit that doesn't care where you are relative to him feels stupid
Well if you're born into being pummeled all hunt you get used to it lmao
Ah comeon you love gogmazios
i think i hate omega due to the fact that theres nothing to offset besides 3 moves
and everything is just projectile based
This
Literally this
And the fact he can fire it at you no matter where you are relative to him is stupid
I hated the DPS check sm I started playing SnS cause Lance is just not doing enough elemental damage
Carpet bombing robo beetle
He does have a roar tho
Its a small one tho
So it doesn't really affect you
Well "roar" is relative
He'll start blaring his sirens when he enters Pankreator mode
And twitches in place a lil
Close enough to a roar for me
Like one of the most gnarly attacks in mh Imo is the g rank silver wind pin missile he does where he fires a needle up and it aimbots down on the player after a delay with a explosive aoe on landing
Thing is he can do other moves during that
Omega feels like he uses that move all hunt long with a bigger aoe
The fact he's doing other shit while raining hellfire down at you sucks
Someone said it’s great jagras in the new greatswords reflection
You know
I see it
I can't believe it
Nearly two hours of wilds and no crash
And I can actually turn up the resolution
The game isn't dogshit anymore
Also the fact the hunter can straight up tank a raging demon is peak lmao
Got the new great sword and did the akuma sidequest
you fight new ark yet
are you using support hunters
it's much easier with them
and also more fun
since the fight is designed around them
you're like the 6th person whos said it
a REAL monster hunter fan uses good ol real players
a REAL veteran solos
Im joining lobbies
Fucken HATE this bastard
The fucken pankoraptor mode at the end is so dog shit
@sharp cedar @wide oyster mh?
sure
booting
Honestly I think I should just skip omega like behemoth in world
whats your specs
I don't remember off the top my head
Damn
Turns out all I had to do to beat omega the bitch was to lock in and solo his ass lmao
Now do I wanna make my self grind that?
Why is omega easier solo with ai teammates than in a team of real people, are they just that goated ???
ai cant die
Real lol
That and the fact failing the nerscylla DPS check isn't a insta wipe is a godsend (not that I failed it when I soloed, these MFers are LOCKED IN)
Ngl there's some hilarious irony to the support hunters being this cracked
well sunbreak is similar
This fight that's made to be fought in a team of real hunters is easier if you solo it and bring three ai hunters lmao
the hunters are absolutely goated
I mean yeah but at the same time sun break didn't have a fight like omega that says "have someone on Tank, have a DPS, have a healer" etc
Good to know it does stack
Bad news I have to go grind omega FUCK
you want to run it?
Not today I'm going to sleep, think tomorrow imma try my hand at gog and or some arc tempereds cause I ignored them

Maybe I'll do intermittent omega so I don't lose my sanity
I forget are layered armors seperate forges or do you get the layered set just by making the normal one?
Also is the fender event quest back?
Seems to be a rathalos in the arena excellent
fender like... the music company?
zyx lets run it again in a bit
when
honestly im probably gonna get on way later so maybe friday or saturday
sorry
same, fun fight, need to learn new timing for the red explosions
is there a mirror shatter weapon for all types?
what a waste
yep
should have been on a gunlance
so this was a fan designed weapon
and they held a contest between this and a bunch of other ones
only one winner
so this gs is the only one that won
no other weapons got anything
unfair? yeah
it would be cool if they could do that for all the other weapons
lets review bomb the game again
it would be unfair if gs wasnt the best weapon anyways
it's weird
also I don't know how you died to arkveld eating
I tried standing in front of him
and took 0 damage
I just wish his armor was better
the helmet seems like the best piece by far
it also has lords soul
which is really good
might replace at Rey helm on some builds
W grind
god
at arkveld is so fun
see you all on the major dlc expansion
i did everything already
except the egg quest but im good
Honestly I loved the quest lol
Running into a horde of monsters and winning is peak
I still don't understand how there are people who can deal 100-120 damage to Arkvel with LS, and they don't get killed in 2 hits.
It's annoying when I get stunned in two hits
the meta sets tend to have both defense and offense
there are few explicit defense skills
but the overall defense of the armor is high
and most run Lord's Soul
which gives you a free instance of guts
some of the meta dps sets even have free 1-slots
so you can put on divine blessing or other defensive skills
I no longer feel like farming charms
I also don't have the desire or the money for Gogmazios weapons
My entire budget went on a light bowgun with Odogaron and Lords Soul abilities
you don't need gog weapons or god charms to have a good build
the craftable options are pretty amazing
and upgrade to a piece of Dahaad Y
The problem is that among the builds I've searched for, none of the LS builds work for me.
And a specialized build is a glass cannon build.
this seems very doable
you don't need to make one for each element
you can just make one element (probably dragon) and then just use that for everything
the only rng is getting Gore on the set bonuses
everything else on this build is fully farmable
you definitely don't need the same reinforcements as well
1-2 sharpness 1-3 attack 0-1 affinity is good enough
it's probably the best build you can get without much rng that still has good comfort
#>>> If the Google Doc images look blurry on mobile, try opening them through the Google Docs app or through a browser. <<<
##Please check the individual guides in order to know if they're updated for the latest TU or not. Note that every TU doesn't necessarily change the meta.
With every new Monster H...
in general
if you were a GS player, it'd be really easy to make a fully craftable and good build
but that build also has barely any comfort
since you constantly inflict self-damage
Dragon, fire, thunder are the 3 to focus on imo
Very few monsters res all 3
Or you can focus on raw, with less focus on element damage
Unless youre using gog armor, raw will end up being amped more than ele
I think dragon is the best for raw
on LS
because you don't want to lose affinity
so element is the best one by default
since it preserves attack and gives you some extra element
that you may or may not invest in
because it's good for gog and a lot of endgame monsters are weak to it
obviously it doesn't do it all
and, if you want to invest in element, you need more
but, if you just want one weapon for everything, it suffices
I think so too
Anyone know the MVs for the Bayle set blade beam and or the shatter seal one?
Wow, Capcom improved Wilds’ performance so much that crashes have become optional!
QRT: JabroniMikeClip
Game can't crash if you don't let itGame: Monster Hunter Wilds
Clipped by: dyra55
Literally me
Welp, first crash since the update just happened
On omega, fittingly enough
The fender crossover is really funny
I defy the meta and supplant my own
Omega 2 piece with shatter sword with odo burst
Become anime schlock
Seriously WHY CAN ALL THREE STACK
I'm torn on the setup I have rn
On one hand an exploding Gs that also shoots a blade beam is a really head empty playstyle that kinda makes the weapon lose nuance on aiming it well and all that
On the other hand it's fuckin awesome
Ok so tomorrow the to do list is do the lagi\tempered rath quest in the arena for armor spheres then prolly try gog after I max my set
@wide oyster
yes
but you should do 10* monsters if you want the best talismans only
Regrettably I'm probably gonna need to go fight omega more at some point to get the GS (mostly for the layered) and two more gems to max the omega pieces I'm using for my set
I get that technically shadowbringer is stronger meta wise (cause 10% raw buff and self proccing resentment is a lot of damage) but id argue being able to use buffed burst basically equalizes the buff almost and gives some nice QoL in aoe and not needing to trade HP to do dmg
Cause from the like slapdash testing I did stacking both shattering reflection and Bayle beam is about a 33% DMG increase innately if you land all three hits
Ideally I'd be able to stack adrenaline rush in there somewhere but if I want more of that I'm prolly gonna have to retool the setup slightly
Maybe I kill arch tempered my udra for his helmet for three burst the I can drop the mizu chest/odo arms for just that, then use Bayle chest for latent power and quiche sheathe keep bale legs and odo waist then grab the regios arms for adrenaline rush
Use a evade 4 talisman and prolly gem in evade extender
And then prolly gem in maxxed adrenaline
That way I get to have my setup without needing to take damage and holding it
But taking DMG speeds up latent power I think which is nice
It's funny how Latent power and WeX are inversely good in this game lmo
For early monsters WeX is great cause wounds are common and easy to proc, while latent power sucks because most monsters aren't hitting you hard enough to proc it early and the two minute duration is like half the hunt lmao
Inversely WeX is worse* later on cause wounds basically never happen and since the damage is so much higher you're more likely to proc latent, which is basically WeX with no drawbacks once triggered
*although the speed runners probably are never gonna run latent cause they simply don't get hit lmao so WeX is the defacto choice
Maybe I'll try to get flayer on my set
I crunched numbers
I think I need
-Nu udra y head
-Bale chest (got)
-Arkveld Y arms
-arkveld Y waist
-bale legs (got)
That alone is 3 burst, 4 latent, 3 flayer, guts (the good version), hasten recovery, and 2 WeX and 2 quick sheathe
That setup has zero 3 slots
Ok so if I do
-Nu udra y head/ 111
-Bale chest (got)/2
-Arkveld Y arms/11
-bale waist (got)/221
-arkveld y legs/33
That's flayer 4, burst 3 latent 2, then I can use a latent power talisman to max that then max burst off decos
From there it's QoL skills, prolly evade extender in the 2s
AND I get arkveld healing and guts (tenacity)
Only thing that sucks is not maxing flayer and not getting evade window
Then again this game has a whole quarter second of iframes innately so I don't really need it unlike rise which nerfed roll iframes
Aaaaand for latent power 3 talisman I need arc tempered rey dau tickets lmao
Might actually gem in Crit boost on my weapon lol
Loosing a hundo on flayer burst damage isn't the best but at the same time it's not terrible
Really it's there to fuel burst and occasionally make wounds appear faster
no money :c
How hard are the arc tempered anyways? And can you get the gamma tickets from the 10* quests?
Might try and pub the 10* to get the gear that way I'm not wasting more armor spheres on gear I won't use
I'm tired of people who join the hunt, see that a member faints, and leave the mission.
The ebbs and flows of sos hunting culture
Easier to get teammates
Teammates are way more likely to bail lol
Was looking up some stuff and read somewhere omega actually gets a DMG and defense buff if you fail to beat the delta attack DPS check is that real?
Yeah...
And its big
Worse hitzones(at least for bow) and about 30% damage increase for savage
I start getting oneshot by the charge and cannons
And its borderline for the missiles
Bro why did they design him like this?
Well you are supposed to just fail if you miss the dps check
And ig they wanted to do away with tping out and waiting for the check to be done
I didn't think omega could get worse ngl
Glad to be proven wrong ig lol, thank God I technically never have to fight him again if I really don't wanna
I got my cool blade beam armor I can just walk away lol
Tbh I think its only noticeable with savage
Its mostly cosmetic
Just looked it up, seems like if you use it with the SNS it'd be a fun support setup
Ironically you'd have already done the thing you'd wanna do a support setup for to get it
But ah well
Yeah
Yeah I'll loop back around to grind the MMO slop fight after I get my build online and doing more DMG so I can spend as little time as possible there
not to say that 99.99% of the talismans you get won't be bad
the pool of bad talismans will just be much smaller
since you only get the top two talisman rarities
tbh the craftable talismans are really really good
agitator 3, latent power 3, and counterstrike 3
are all very solid options
I don't know what a good talisman is.
For me, there's a level 3 geologist, an anti-draco, and add sleep.
Probably gonna focus on getting my gear in order with a latent power 3 deco then pivot into RNG talismans
So I'll prolly do the slightly easier nu and rey
depends on your weapon
the very loose definition is something that crams as many meta skills on it as possible that would be difficult to get elsewhere
for example, a good talisman for greatsword would be Focus 3/Counterstrike 1/etc.
because Focus 3 requires weapon decos normally
so shifting it to the talisman
Stuff like flayer/burst/WeX are good cause that's up to three 3 slotters for free
lets you fit more offensive skills on your weapon for free
anyways yeah the craftable decos are pretty good as well
The ever humble shatter seal:
it having focus 3 on it is amazing
It being able to proc burst consistently is peak comedy
but my god charm is not good for it 😔
Damn
I have talismans to make 5 builds of heavy bowgun and light bowgun
Can you get Smth like EE3/EW3?
yeah
That'd be nice
probably
I actually don't fully know the limits of what you can get
there's definitely some stuff online about it
Then again I need latent power 3 for the setup I'm planning
Hold on I want your opinion on smth
sure
^This is the hypothetical build I'm thinking of grinding for
The idea is to stack burst with the multihit skills from flayer/shatter/dark arts, and combine it with guts tenacity/hasten recovery to make self sustain good
Id rather have the self sustain off arkveld
Shatter seal
Cause from what I can tell the arkveld set bonus isn't a percent heal like nergis was in World or blood rite in rise
It's more based on multiple hits proccing a heal
So hypothetically if I use this setup I can proc it consistently along with burst cause each swing can hit upwards of four times (the hit, the shatter, the blade beam, and flayer)
Tho idk if that's how it actually works or not
Well even if its not a great heal I'll take the occasional HP to top off my health or whatever
I know the multihits work with burst so I'm kinda hoping hasten recovery is a similar deal
15ish HP is like a tenth of the HP bar using GS which seems nice
What a disappointment that the hardest mission in the game doesn't give you the Y tickets from the monsters
gives you a cool title card
Made my set but I decided to pivot out of the latent power talisman for the evade window one because I like living
Cause holy shit ATs love their air moves lol
Granted its not like bad aoe (see omega painindeeznuts) it's just alot
Also genuinely I'm convinced that AT arkveld you need stun resist for cause any time I died it was off like a stray hit stunning me into immediately getting nuked
Maybe I can move some things around and get more latent power
Honestly tho I think for non Crit skills atk buffing skills you're weirdly better off doing a little bit of everything instead of fully investing in one skill
Like genuinely looking at the math for some of these it doesn't make sense
Like on gs with burst lvl 1 gives 10 atk when you proc it
At level 5 you get 18, that's 5x the investment for not even 2x the return, meanwhile if I stack level one of that, and adrenaline rush that's a instant +20 via two conditionals
Honestly I think the skill economy got borked cause most skills have 5 slots and that kinda makes balancing hard cause like making a three leveled skill was super easy, you have buff, then double it then double it again super easy and consistently scaling that rewards investing in a skill
To my knowledge agitator and wex are the only backloaded skills
Burst is extremely broken because of how frontloaded it is
And the odo armor skill set essentially gives you burst level 5 at burst level 1

i can get around 247 attack
but since I have no idea what is meta
this could be the best or worst build
I really just need better charms
I feel like youd back load affinity skills because affinity skills scale better with the armor
Like Latent power (despite being kinda hit or miss meta wise) does scale up well into higher levels, because each level is getting you 10% extra Crit and 10% stamina recovery after the thing is applied
Idk if WeX is like that too cause they did the weird thing where it's split up into two parts like world post ib which tbh I'm not a fan of
I feel like WeX being a 5 level skill is the perfect way to balance it, with you needing to hit weak spots to proc the actual affinity, whereas in the recent games Crit eye going up to 7 got you 40 innate affinity which was always garanteed
Not a fan of the WeX split based on smacking wounds tho because then youre encouraged to not focus strike wounds which kinda feels counter intuitive to the mechanic and can cause friction in multiplayer. If someone runs WeX and someone else (like me) sees a wound and instantly wants to pop it then the WeX person is losing out on dmg
In hindsight I think the armor/weapon skill split is really stupid
It feels like it overcomplicated the whole process for no real reason
Also the fact skills like adrenaline rush can't get their duration refreshed normally by repeatedly doing their conditional is dumb
So these gonna be like arctempered with new gear or just stat buffs
GOOO
the latter
attack boost and critical eye too
if you can't get to the levels where you start getting percentage bonuses
don't bother
now beat him 100 more times to farm for optimal gog gear
Nah I'm good I think I'll stick with my explodey sword
Honestly kinda wanna try it in a pure 1v1
any mh?
Gun Lance is pretty fun
I've been trying to learn it today
Slowly getting the hang of it
Its quite mobile considering all the micro adjustments it's able to make with its movement
Fought gog solo solo
Phase one? Felt like a older game final boss fight, everything hits like a truck but entirely manageable, dare I say awesome
Phase 2 sucks
The dragon gun is a funny concept but the fact it kinda hogs the whole second half of the fight is lame and the fact that also compounded by a DPS check is even lamer
If they had phase 2 play like phase one more with flying attacks added into the mix of shit he can do while letting you use the guns to get damage in from longer range that'd probably still be fun, but as it is phase 2 feels like lagis underwater phase. Where in the game tries to pivot from the gameplay loop it excels at when you can actually get into the groove of it for something wholly different which feels clunky by comparison
😔
No zoh gamma set?
I mean I guess but at the same time usually ark tempered equals gamma set so it's kinda odd
Has there ever been a arc tempered fight with no armor?
Apparently the arc tempered thing was a typo
Made a wilds monster tier list out of boredom
Zoh and base rath got covered by the logo there, tiers are unordered
Some notes:
-Arc tempered are the same tier as base fights except for arc tempered rey and nu udra, at nu goes up a tier (his at version just feels more interesting to fight with the new moves/strings) and at rey goes down one imo (adding explosive electric aoe to physical attacks as a followup isn't as fun as normal rey, wish he leaned into more new physical moves cause those are reya strength)
-(normal) tempered arkveld is probably the best fight in game currently imo cause it has like the perfect difficulty curve, readable enough to be able to throttle but if you lose focus he does the throttling, peak fight design (AT is similar but the high HP /concentration of explosions kind of takes the fight down a bit, still peak, id just rather fight a 9 Star normal tempered than ark tempered)
What parts of it?
Honestly I feel like I could see why you'd like omega tho
Face tanking omega can feel cool if you rail road him hard enough and have good supports (I had a few runs where we lacked a lancer to face tank him so I had to use GS to face tank with some guard decos)
Like going "nah bitch your ass is fighting ME" feels cool, but that's something you can get in a normal MH fight by just hitting the monster normally, codifying it into a gimmick in a fight already riddled with annoying gimmicks doesn't really help it imo
Gore is in the middle of the pack for me cause he doesn't even really feel like the previous gores he feels like a different monster with a gore skin
Its less the Omega fight mechanically
I'm a big fan of the 3rd phase theme
My opinions obviously differ, as I assume our weapons are fundamentally different in play style
It feels almost like what they did with chaotic gore in rise where his moves are explicitly designed to catch you out for your normal gore habits, but without the meta narrative of "this gores fucked up and half mutated, of course his moveset is gonna be off"
I play GS so yeah lol
Fucken I see his arm raised I go to offset it like the old backhand he used to do which was notably slower, but then he just caves my skull in with a slam lmao
Honestly real
eScape is a pretty cool song I will admit
As for catchcabra I don't think he's bad per say I just think he's way to easy to run over
I barely get to see his moveset when I do fight him cause I just beat him down so badly
Really same deal with most starting monsters but at least lala and quemantrice get a foot out the door, catchcabra gets bat murdered before he gets out of bed
Then again again it's wilds so unless it's like an endgame fight you can just run through most of em
Iirc I died twice in my main story playthrough
Once to nu udras nuke cause my food buff ran out literally right as his nuke went off because I forgot to re up and eat, then another to the zoh inferno cause I thought it was like the other inferno styled nukes where you gotta hide behind something (I stood right next to the exploding wylk rock lmao)
That's exactly why
He's a perfect first monster
That's why he's at the top for me
Granted my tiering is a bit broad
But he's good at introducing you to Wilds
He's super easily telegraphed to hit Offsets
His wounds appear real fast and he has a powerclash
Honestly I think the biggest issue with him is how many attacks he has that dont interrupt you at all
Pretty much all of his tongue attacks do no knock back so you can just wait on him
I feel like that kinda sets a bad precedent for the game going forward that you can just mash through fights
Not saying that the tounge should launch you or something, but it should do like something
The other stuff is good
Wonder what the MR expansion is gonna entail
We got a desert/forest/ice/lava/ancient area in the base game so idk what they're gonna do
My wager is either they take another stab at water combat with a big ocean area or we're going to get a big underground ecosystem.
Kinda hoping for the latter both because of my crippling thalassophobia lmao, but also the later potentially could lean into the ancient civilization angle way more which was easily the most interesting part of wilds plot (which is a shame because it's there for like at best one tenth of it smack dab in the middle considering all of lr/hr)
Also I feel like it'd make sense cause the game alludes to all the areas being connected underground via wyrmways, so having a unique area thats like a central hub/ancient civilization stronghold for all that wylk feels like a slam dunk to me tonally. Especially if the area is hollowed out and has like a synthetic ecosystem the potential there is limitless, they could make it like a guiding lands 2 where each area has its own temperate climate and it unlocks more and more as the dlc goes on. And since it's entirely a synthetic ecosystem you can bring out all heavy hitters as guardians cause there'd be no ecological/lore reason/need to have weaker monsters in these ecosystems. And then expand on the idea arkveld posed in base game have each sub areas apex have been a former extinct guardian that broke free from those limitations
I mean hell wilds already basically did the idea with gog, we went down deeper in the basin, found the big wylk vein thing and gog was napping there, hm explaining that as a "oh yeah we found MORE shit underground through the wyrmways" could be interesting
Hell making the main new monster roster mostly guardians/having a new underground map that's connected to every area kind of makes the devs life way easier too
-they can get more varied and popular picks cause they don't really need a justification for shit to be there
-guardians auto healing wounds makes it so wounds won't be as strong as the are currently in base game
-they can just have a base game/normal monsters wander down to the underground to be encountered there for variety
-they can leave the overworld at HR scaling for multiplayer purposes then have the underground be exclusively MR scaling. (Probably make it so optional quests are in current/normal locales in MR for balance)
Further more they could do some really interesting shit with how the fights are handled, cause presumably if it's one big map the monster spawns are gonna be pretty limited per area. That tonally would make it feel way different than even wyveria does currently because it'd be even less alive feeling, just you and the one monster.
Then potentially making it so a extra monster could spawn anywhere on the map via falling from a cocoon or something could make invasions really interesting. One second you're fighting a monster then you hear a loud thud behind you and all of the sudden another fresh guardian showed up to ruin your day.
That also would bring hunts back closer in line with how they were handled in previous games where most the time it is just a straight up 1v1 and invaders felt like a genuine invasion
Also unrelated I just realised gog isn't scaled at all, he's always set at 4p HP values
Damn he really is a old MH final boss put in a new game
Damn shame they strapped a DPS check on him
Or inversely it's a damn shame the DPS check doesn't scale down for single player
Either or the fight honestly would probably be peak
Hope everyone has fun using Shatterseal and the SOS Meating pendant in the new update!
This video is kind of just me rambling about swords and design. I think I still had more to talk about but it was getting pretty long already. Sorry if any of it sounds weird or doesn't make sense, recording is nerve-wracking and editing is exhausting.
The mo...
The big underground ecosystem sounds really interesting
However I think that'll be more like a TU thing
Like the Grinding Lands
If I had to guess
Maybe this DLC is gonna be a lot more story heavy
Consider how Wilds is
Which I have nothing against
I actually really enjoyed Wild's narrative
So I'd be really interested in a continuation of that storyline
I'm interested in seeing a lot more unique Guardians perchance
Like imagine a Brachydios
(bit of a bias cause Brachy is in my top 3, but anyway)
I think he'd be really unique and I'd like to see how he works with Wylk
Maybe the main area for the Expansion is going to be an extension to the map already
There's a lot of empty space on the map still
So perchance we get more new areas
Or who knows
Old locales somehow getting wound up in the story
Like idk
The wyrmways js started spreading
Like roots
And have caused an uproar in the local ecosystem
Actually thinking about it
UNGA, you have a point
Theres been a sideplot
About Werner trying to figure out what the Wyrmways even are
Which has been stretching over the Title updates
So who knows
I forgot Wilds is Open World
So technically the underground ecosystem would work really well
However
What would the theme for those be
Would they just mirror their topside counterpart
But in a weird "Body-Horror" way
See that's like my idea
The big underground map is all connected and one big map but each part is connected topside to its main map in some kind of weird inversion
The desert is all a glass/wylk crystal floor, the forest is comprised of trees and stuff made of the shit you see in the wyrmway areas/the shit you use to hook up the bfg vs gog, etc
The idea of the wyrmway and all that being "alive" and actively trying to purge us from its system as we travel underneath the surface could be a really cool late game twist that feeds into the existential horror of the ancient civilization that I don't think you could really do in another MH game
Maybe even culminating in a late game fight being vs a construct hunter who is notably larger (probably using the rajang/monkey animation rig) and who can like morph wylk crystal to be different weapons for attacks. With maybe making it the longer the fight goes on the more it mutates to be more traditionally monster like
THAT would make the plot bullshit this game puts the player through worth it if we could get something like that that's a narrative foil to us.
The idea of some (effectively) Eldritch creature looking at humans and going "they've killed everything I've thrown at them, therefore the best thing at killing in this whole ecosystem is them, so I'll make my own version to kill them" is metal as fuck
It'd also be a awesome subversion to the MH troupe trend of making the final boss monster this big grandiose encounter with a giant thing like 90% of them end up being
Also if we get more guardians it'd be cool if we got guardian versions of monsters that had altered elements, like barioth that uses dragon or a zinogre that uses ice or smth

Monster Hunter Wilds steam版...
I see now
lol
in world it was gunlance/hbg iirc
in this game it's lbg
in rise it was hbg
cheese is eternal
@wide oyster @sharp cedar mh?
not tn sry
Ah heroics gunner
Classic
It's always the gunner weapons lmao
Only game where's guns are bad is frontier iirc
Yeah
I love my fight skip button valor HBG
It's crazy how genuinely overpowered Valor HBG was in GU
The fastest kill in the game is 39 seconds with Valor HBG
My personal favorite bit of Valor HBG op-ness was helping someone through G4 key quests and we were at the grav/glav combo quest
Told the team id solo grav
Killed that fucker fast enough I doubled back and helped them kill glav too
That was with a unoptimized full bloodbath setup with evade extender
That shit had COMFORT skills on it
What's crazy about Valor HBG was not only did it give you insane DPS and crazy repositioning
I do miss how the recent games streamlined out ways to get effects like heroics or dragon heart going
No toadstool to poison yourself or eating for unlucky cat and all that
It gave you Evade Window for free
And also valor sheathe, which is not only a get out of jail free card, it's also safely lets you use shit like resentment

The fact gog doesn't scale at all is saddening
The biggest advantage of scaling fights is to make endgame fights more feasible solo
The fight that arguably needs it the most doesn't get it
I mean I say that but omega is also there but he's mmo slop so I'm not really expecting anything good from him
Honestly his first phase and the cliff interlude are really fun full solo with no support hunters
Takes a while but it's fun
The final phase goes nah id lose lmao
Gog is basically always scaled to 4 players
The support hunters like fabius and nadia all deal damage to gog so its more like he has 200k hp you have to chew through
The new 10* quest is supposed to remove those however
Capcom deciding to make 2 TU headlining fights have a final phase that uses the slinger for 85% of it with a DPS check slapped on is hilarious in hindsight
So we'll see if that changes his health at all
10* gog having less health would be so fucking funny
The G rank update is gonna be slinger focused and turn the game into a on rails shooter lmao
Clearly
Are bowguns better for gogs last phase?
Cause like if he's bumming around up in the sky anyways might as well grab a dragon gun and just blast him with that
I prefer bow to ls now
But I also find it way easier to manage gog with bow
You can actually hit him
But also
The slinger ammo is sufficient
Make sure youre using the rubble as well
Yeah but I'm not a fan of the slinger ammo is the thing
Like it's funny concept wise but in execution it's not fun
Honestly kinda wish they went the full nine yards into the absurd and made the compact dragon guns fire like a mini gun or Smth with a lotta small hits holding down the trigger
Ive had a few shots vs gog where I fully charge it, aim center of mass, release, and then he turns and arcs his wing in such a way the bolt just flies past him
Threading the needle between his upper body and his wing when he turns mid air is simultaneously really funny, impressive, and infuriating
Funny and impressive because he's so huge how the hell did I miss
Infuriating because HES SO HUGE HOW THE HELL DID I MISS
Also minor gripe I wish we could choose what post hunt accolades we show
I've had multiple hunts where I'm on my A game offsetting the monster and they gimme Smth like communicator for communicating 3 times (2 of those three were autoshoutouts tied to gestures)
Even if it was just a preference thing
Had a ark-tempered-veld where I was offseting that guy the whole hunt and I felt cheated after cause I wanted a concrete number lol
it's always funny when you get something totally irrelevant though
like highest number of communications
or most items used
or most slinger shots fired
The item one is the worst cause it makes you sound like a bum
the more offsets you do, the less likely you are to be recognized for them
it's just a fact
I know it all too well
"this guy needed to 15 items, laugh"
and if you only get 1 offset for an entire hunt
you should be certain
that it's going to be your hunter award
The cruelest joke is giving GS the coolest parry in the series and making its awesomeness untelevised lmao
Yeah I know you fling the monster but that's only sometimes
usually I notice it
but maybe it's because I play gs as well
I usually hear the sound effect
same for counters
