Being able to fuck off in any direction with the wirebug helps as well. Also having lots of high areas to approach from compared to world and wilds, where you are stuck on the ground most the time

The best way to deal with that attack is to get right next to his legs when he's winding up the attack
That space really can't be hit while he's doing it too, so it's a prime spot for healing
