Or does Alchemy charge arts quicker with alchemy whetstone?

Striker style boosts the rate that your three hunter arts fill. SP state in strike style also causes your hunter arts to fill up passively

I am not sure how accurate this last piece of info is, but I recall someone also mentioning that a Striker styled weapon also just dealt more damage, however I don’t believe this is true since I can’t find any info on that

To answer the original question though (because I misunderstood what was being asked), I assume that usually Striker charges faster due to not needing to rely on setting up the barrel

Striker fills up more passively, but with alchemy if you use the whetstone and alchemy cheer you can spam more arts back to back because cheer is a flat art charge gain rate affected by whetstone iirc

The only problem is for that strat you need 6 total bars for that strat cause cheer is set to 5

That and it's imperative to have at least a SP art for alchemy

Because not only does sp mode fill the bucket faster, using the bucket also levels up sp mode

Lvl 1 (yellow) is default style buffs
Lvl 2 (orange) is stamina related (iirc it makes it so your stamina cap doesn't go down as fast?) It makes it so your stamina recovers faster
Lvl 3 (red) gives universal hp regen
And lvl 4 (purple) give extra part damage/flinch chance

Grabbing booster first (lvl 3 drink icon item) is super useful for getting sp levels cause it ups your alchemy gain rate

You probably aren't hitting lvl 3/4 until the end of most hunts, but for long haul hunts alchemy style helps greatly

The way it works usually is they have the HR 5 monsters in the hr 5 quest pool, but then the hyper monsters for hr 5 are all HR 4 monsters.
