I wouldn't say it's some of the hardest fe content ever, but it is tough for an early game chapter. I think chapter 3 was the worst of the bunch tbh.

Also, seeing my friend doing it on easy mode and my playthrough of normal mode makes me realize just how many differences there are between the difficulty modes

You know how the 1st chapter (after the prologue) had a time limit to escape? Easy mode just doesn't have that. Instead the goal is rout the enemy.
