People were complaining about Reina when she got leaked because they assumed they'd get another Kuni (which turned out to be Victor and not her). If you're mad about which FF character got added to the game, more likely than not that was the one they were able to negotiate

They done put her entire power budget to heat, but the problem is that she doesn't have a 13f heat engager from neutral.
All of her +frames are neglectable compared to how slow her moves are, a lot of her strings are neither neutrals, hit confirms and unpunishable so she just sits there pressing b1/ff2.
Hell, she doesn't even get a followup after a ff2 hit, unlike characters like Reina.
AND she has ass lows.

Can't even be a proper fraud like Victor/Hwoarang outside of heat

AND she has little to no mixups between her strings, she either does a mid high or a high mid.

AND she can't even fucking launch in most of her stances lmao

Warriors Instinct? Sure… other characters in the game are in warriors instinct everytime they go into heat and he only gets that shit for one round

Everything is steppable

Stance almost all options lose to stepping he has to commit to power crush for tracking

You can also bait the Warriors Instinct activation and launch him super easy

It’ll lose to like hella hopkicks and shit like that or stuff like that one Steve punch where he leaps into the air and hits you

Characters like Lili can Matterhorn between DF1, 2 bluespark charge and launch him

His only two real homing moves one (b3) poor range, uf4 good range but a huge commit move, you can be brought back to the ground fast as fucj if the opponent uses their heat burst boom free combo

You have to commit to F3 and b4 to track some to each side, F3 isn’t a bad commitment but if they step b4 correctly it’ll take so long to recover the opponent can go book a vacation come back, make a sandwich, eat it, and then still have time to launch his ass

Adding on to that video

Frame advantage and scaling of it (from +3 to +8 to big frame trap) is universally good knowledge but you also need to make sure to know how the opponent are willing to interact with you and consequences of that. As not every +1 or +3 can be mashed at with a jab.

for example, if you are +1, you are not fast enough to intercept a dickjab/jab with a 13f mid. It creates a ambigous rock/paper/scissors situtaion where both you and your opponent can high/lowcrush, sidestep or respect the +frame. If you see a notorious dickjabber, you do a hopkick that will launch him. Ducking and doing 15f launcher rising will let you punish a whiffed jab (if you are fast enough), and if they respect the +1 ? You might as well be + 20. This is what we call small Tekken where a mix of evasion and quickstrikes occurs in a scramble to gain big advantage (+6 or more) and then do a mixup.

It is also important to note that making your opponents whiff in a 3d fighing game is easier than in 2d one, as not only you can make whiffs by spacing but also by welltimed evasion and that mostly leads to big punishes (launchers/heat engagers/37-50dmg strings)

Xiaoyu is notorious for being untouchable by most strings, where opponents are forced to use their slower, low hitting moves, which in turn let's you punish a lot buttons but not all of them. It is detremental to find out the habits of your opponent so you can apply the right move to gain the advantage , even if you are disadvantagous.

It all comes down to knowledge between your rocks and their paper and spacing inbetween, excluding Jin Kazama, who just happens to be cracked.

Stereotypically, Xiaoyu players have absolutely zero defensive knowledge about anything other than, AOP goes brrr.

Also adding to Rouge's essay, frame traps in Tekken are completely different than SF6 for example.

You block Ken's dragon lash and are -1 and in strike throw mix.
In Tekken -1 doesn't mean you're in any type of mixup because of 3d movement, Can Cans, parries, hopkicks etc

Normally anything between +1 and +4 you can sidestep a jab afterwards.

Anything +5 or higher is when you generally want to "Hold this mixup" unless you yolo a Can Can, parry rage art etc
