When you side step in this game you go a bigger distance I believe or are faster compared to how they were in T7, but yeah that being said I think homing throws being strong af and a lot of moves being busted and tracking a good amount (while not even being tracking moves) lessens the strength of them

You can go into Heaven’s Wrath from Hellsweep (the qcf 4, 2 one hold down during for heavens wrath), during the df4, 2 string (hold down during 2), during running 4 (hold down during the move), during Sentai 1+2 (automatic transition), during regular heat smash (automatic transition), during uf1 (automatic transition to Sentai on hit), can go back into heaven’s wrath after hunting hawk (HW3,4) by holding down during the move (can chain this continually if opponent is respecting), can manual transition into the stance by just doing down 1+2 (not a strong option tbh), can go into heaven’s wrath after doing wr4, 4 (tsunami kicks) (hold down during move to transition)

Yeah from HW1 you can hold forward to transition back to Sentai too and do something like Sentai 2, or S3, or S4, 3 is the heat engager and 4 gives goated frames, if you’re in heat also you can do HW1+2 and it’s safe because HW in heat parries all mids and highs

Understanding these tools extentions will give you an edge in the match

As for combos, do you need the basic BNB or do you want high dmg ing ones

The sliding is definitely something I can see being annoying fast. But I don't think it really has any actual evasive properties outside of maybe SE2?

I've heard that after his dragon lash buffs you have to take the mix, before that there were some sidestepping shinanigans that you could you.
