The thing is that Fighting games are far behind with enshittification when compared to other game types.
The example is Tekken 8 cosmetics.
Are they bad ? Yes.
Were they made with no clear style in mind, resulting in pieces that will never match ? Surely.
But holy shit are they detailed. All you need to do is zoom in to understand. Every character looks so polished that making quality addons to their wardrobe takes too much time to be profitable.

Also cosmetics for characters won't sell if they already look good, you can see this happening in modern shooters, and while they can get away with mediocre looking characters, the rule of "don't know which fighter to pick ? Just pick one that looks the coolest" won't work if all your characters look like shit
