If he's new to fighting games no matter what game he wants to get into it's gonna be a challenge

Yes some games like Strive that are for people getting into the genre is gonna easier in the long run

But from personal experience and teaching people a lot of concepts are just gonna be to much/daunting

Some things may come across easier (again games like strive or even granblue are good at this) but knowing when to hop over full jump in something like KOF is gonna take some time

Just my 2 cents though
