The safe jump jA if done correctly will beat the jump attempt or mashing/wakeup grab. 4C or 1B will block the reversal dp, and the 6B or 2C will catch the roll attempts, especially roll forward. Roll forward leads to a combo. Roll back, it’s only a single hit I think so you have to activate QM

Now a scrub like me who can’t manually time the safe jump, will either (a) jump early and bait the dp reversal by blocking or do 2A to catch a forward roll or do frame 1 grab to catch back roll or do armor grab to catch people who crouch block. (2) Or I will delay the safe jump (which loses to wakeup dp) but will meaty mashers or people doing wakeup grab or block string a person crouch blocking. Because I’m not timing my safe jump correctly, neutral hopping escapes my safe jump attempt, which is why @spark valley suggests neutral jumping cause he’s playing a honest Clark scrub like me

Some Clark players like @smoky comet instead of doing the safe jump, likes to either run forward or do the command hop and either do 2B combos to catch people pressing or do Frankensteiner to catch people blocking low or rolling back. This is still an option select cause both options beat multiple escape attempts as well. But wakeup grab will beat the frankensteiner (but lose to 2B), while just blocking or rolling back should escape the 2B (but lose to frankensteiner)

If Clark does 214A and does not follow up with ex tackle into elbow then you can auto time the safe jump which is way easier to do. A lot of Clark players like to do this. Then he can easily access the safe jump OS. But since 214A is a skd, you should choose not to recover roll which will mess up the auto safe jump

OSs are tough in KOF because shit is fast af. imo. There's specific ones for every character, and not all universal ones apply to said character.

Most free one I can think of is CD special cancel, works well if the move works in both directions lol

wake up DP I don't think is an OS, it's just.. Wake up DP. beats meaties. I wouldn't say a mis-timed safe jump, that's just a bad jump getting AA'd

I can't remember the specifics but, some characters can interrupt blockstrings or beat certain routes. Like a 4f/ex DP in a typically safe blockstring that interrupts the route; but if the opponent does a different, tighter string, the DP doesn't come out and you continue to block.

This is what I think of when I look for an OS 🙂 This is a safer KOF one that i've found and frequently forget to do/lab.
